Haha, yes, having the power to scold the author is a daydream of mine too. Unfortunately, all I can do is curse her/him in several languages while I'm seated in front of the darn text to translate. The last one I did was a love story set in a hospital I usually like medical romances, but this one had a 5% medicine ratio and the rest was about those two making out in every room or surface available. :S I can't even begin to tell you how hard it is for me to translate sex scenes: they are all the same and English can be pretty explicit, while our policy is to "smooth" the angles. So, after the trillionth shiver down the spine, I'm completely lost.
Gaaaaaa
I'll call this "The Tribulation of a Romantic Translator".
LOL

I'm currently working as a translator for a publishing company, and spend my working hours immersed in romances. Some of them are quite good, other atrocious, but I love my job, although at times I am reduced to the shadow of myself (but that's just my own doing... there is something highly romantic about the struggle, lol)
I can understand that you will miss Uni. I had a great time too, and I would go back to study tomorrow, if I had the time - and the financial means, which right now are a little tight. :)
You will enjoy discussing your thesis: it's an exhilarating feeling when you are the person in the room who knows the most about a subject. :)

You have all my admiration. :) When do you think you're going to discuss your thesis?

Wow, that's a highly interesting subject. Are you majoring in political science, or communications/media?

I know your pain, and, in a way, your predicament too: for my last translation I had to do a 36 hours non-stop working because I had spent most of the previous weeks watching or talking about dramas.
What is your thesis about, if I may ask? :)

Violeeeettttt! I need to confess: I spent the day marathoning through the first 12 episodes of K2H. Ottokke? I've lost my sanity (the little I had).
On second viewing this drama is even better, if that's possible.
So now I have two choices: spend the rest of the week (which doesn't go from Sunday to Saturday anymore, but from Thursday to Wednesday) looking into space, or pester you with messages like this.
Beware!! LOL
;);)

Funnily, it wasn't my favourite episode, but you know, unless they start allowing us 11s and 12s, this drama is going to rob me of all possible rating. It was an awesome episode, as usual, but somehow it was an anticlimax for me. Not that it makes any difference: unless the end of the world happens in the meantime, this drama is already a full 10 for me.
:D

Believe it or not, I WAS JUST GOING TO WRITE THE SAME THING about yours. Just read it, and loved it!!!!!
I'm rapidly running out of adjectives to describe this drama, if this goes on I'll just declare I'm dead and stare in the void, lol. I love to read yours, the longer the better. It's a little like rewatching something, but with the eyes of another. :D
Did you see the preview for ep. 12? Hang Ah being all professional soldier again. Awesome.

Hi cute! Yes, it was strange: what I got from you was not a friend request, but a blank message here on my wall. O.o So I thought I could just as well befriend you and ask you about it, haha! :D
Of course you can call me rita! :)
I like your list: it seems we have a few tastes in common.
Have you watched episode 11 of K2H yet?

Haha, thank you for your vote of confidence, but I'm not a writer. The world of literature will have to deal with such a loss. :P Truth is, I may have the words, but I don't have the ideas for a plot, so for now I think I'd better stick to my very prosaic translations. ;)
Japanese dramas have been my first love too. And like any first love worth of this name, they hold a fascination which isn't easily forgotten. Perhaps it's the language, I don't know.
And now I have to go back to work, if I want to earn that creme brulee we were talking about earlier... ;)
Hope to read you again very soon! :)
Rita

Very true. I have got no problem with different opinions; in fact, they make me think, as long as they are well expressed and don't degenerate in some racist generalization. I can't put up with those.
Let's see our different views on Cha Seung Won as an advantage: disagreeing on men's sex-appeal will never make us competitors. You can have him all you wish, in my great generosity I won't try to snatch him away from you. ;);)

Wow, I start thinking it must be at least a couple of relatives.;)
Secret Garden has become a sort of comparison measure for me, which is bad because once you've tasted a creme brulee you can't go back to a piece of dry bread.
The dialogues are so clever, I too would never tire listening to them. And I even laugh each time, despite the fact that I've watched them over and over again.
In order to come out of the SG withdrawal syndrome, for a while I had to turn to japanese dramas, which are so different I don't feel the need to compare. :)

That's a great idea! I'm in. :D
Are you watching Equator Man by any chance? I have been told by some reliable sources (lol) that it's really very good.
In any case, since you're the one watching so many right now, I will wait for your suggestion. Just, please don't pick one with Cha Seung Won, the only actor I can't watch for the life of me. :P

The enjoyment is mutual! :D
I'm not a hardcore fan of Bocelli, but I can recognize his talent and with the right surrounding his concerts must be nice. Open air certainly does the trick. :)
I think watching airing dramas satisfy our need to share our thoughts. Once the drama is over, all the more so if some time has passed, the euphoria dies down in threads and nobody seems to be willing to talk about it anymore. It's a little sad to post there and be alone. I found that the wait enhances beautiful dramas, but totally kills the barely decent ones. I have put many on hold because they were not powerful enough for my taste to justify the wait.
On the other hand, marathon through a completed drama has something... magic, like loosing ourselves in a story and live it along the characters.
I'm still debating what I prefer myself. :)

Thank you for accepting. :)
And I have to confess that I went through your drama list and thought we must have at least one relative in common, lol. ;) I usually skim through the lists and note the vote given to 4 dramas: Secret Garden (LOVE); Coffee Prince (LOVE); Personal Taste (BLAH); You're Beautiful (OVERRATED). If the taste fits, I feel a shiver of satisfaction. I'm very silly, sometimes.
Please take part to the K2H discussion: the more, the merrier!! :D

E' stato un piacere! ;)
If I weren't always in a hurry lately I would use them more often too. Like you said, a LOL will never have the same force as a laughing smilie.
I guess I'll meet you at the next K2H episode review! ;);)
P.S. I know there are other good dramas out there to discuss, but I'm a bit of a drama monogamist when I have an obsession. I wish I could watch many at a time, but it seems to me mixing up takes me out of that bubble of pleasure. Do I make sense? :S

I could NEVER hate you, even if you started selling YaB DVDs door to door. ;)
You really mentioned Monty Python's the Holy Grail... yes, you did. THE. MOST. HILARIOUS. MOVIE. EVER.
I don't want to miss this one, which by the way has been on my plan to watch list for quite a long time. :D
Thank you. :)
Hugs

Your list is so cryptic... lol. I wanted to find out what you are watching but saw no entry. The last time you were watching 5 dramas at the same time, haha.
So tell me the truth: who is the real you?
