Yeah, I thought the lead couple's relationship was pretty natural too. The shifu is borderline questionable in the second arc, being overly protective, possessive and even seductive at times, and Chong Zi has no autonomy at that point, but once she becomes a demon she will finally have agency over herself and snap back at LYF to make him understand that he's not in control of everything. Even without the misunderstanding, it would still make sense for Chong Zi to be mad at LYF since he indeed did not go visit her in those 3 years nor did he protect her when she was being tortured. The fact that he couldn't keep his promise was enough of a reason. They didn't have to make it seem like he did the torturing. I mean, he did break all the vessels in her body before putting her to sleep so that's pretty horrible already.

I LOLed at the scene (I think it was from yesterday or last week?) where they were all in the conference hall talking about the demons wreaking havoc. Just when I thought they were gonna come up with some sort of master plan, they said "let's talk about marriage between the sects". I guess the world is gonna be saved simply by having Yunji marry LYF and having Min Su Qiu marry Zhuo Hao. That's absolutely brilliant.

In LBFAD, little orchid called DFQC "Da Mu Tou" (big wooden head), but in the novel, she actually called him "Da Mo Tou" (big demon). They censored it.
