In the novel, there were far more steamy kisses that happened late story, so maybe we'll see those afterwards. Early stage their relationship is pure disciple and master, so any kisses would be purely for utility purposes and are not supposed to mean more than that.

I think his character is a frivolous playboy type. He is way too touchy towards the FL tho, it's basically harassment. Yikes!

It's because FL is her first and only disciple in thousands of years, and he also feels sorry for her situation. He is a kind immortal at heart, as you can see when FL said "immortals are blind, they don't care about the suffering of the world" he seemed to agree with her, so he makes up for her by not doing the same thing as the rest of the immortal tribe.

The skin smoothing filters are so overdone. The actors look a lot better without them. Especially Chen Xing Xu, he is not suited for these types of filters.

I am already mentally prepared for all the angst that's gonna happen XD
After all, it's not a xianxia if there's no angst. Hopefully we do get a happy ending though.

I watched JOF and didn't like it because of how awful the ML was. I actually enjoy Chong Zi much more because the ML is a lot more reasonable. So that's one factor that could keep certain JOF past watchers on board.

The trope seems overused but I like how it is executed here so far. The leads have slightly more interesting personalities compared to other dramas.

Yeah, she's prone to not follow orders but she hasn't caused anything major for now. She is a good kid at heart. I'm thinking she's gonna get in trouble and framed for something due to other people with ill intentions. Her shifu is gonna be really sad for her.

Gentle male leads always endure everything without telling anyone. Then they get misunderstood. It hurts to watch :(

Yes! The cold male lead is so overused in almost every drama that it's no longer enjoyable. I used to like that trope as a kid but now I've grown out of it too.

I'm enjoying this so far. Love the leads and their personalities. ML is very different from the stereotypical ML. He's kind, gentle, level-headed. FL is quick-tempered and child-like, but I like her sense of justice and snappyness. I think she has room for some character growth. Right now, I'm digging the leads' cute dynamics.

I didn't say ALL rich people, so don't do self insertion here. And there's a reason why kdramas talk about corrupt rich people all the time. It's not just for some cheap entertainment. It's to bring out prevalent issues in their society. If you asked a Korean, they would tell you how serious the power corruption is and how many rich businessmen get away with the things they do on a daily basis. International people watch kdramas for entertainment, but a lot of Koreans watch them because they relate on a personal level. It vents their anger and helps them have hope for a more just society. If your family is clean, that's great, but that doesn't mean everyone is. You clearly have not met people who have been through a hard time but could not serve their justice because the perpetrators were rich and in positions of power.

Rich people do illegal stuff all the time. It sounds like PMY was unknowingly dragged into it. If they investigated and it has nothing to do with her, then people should stop spreading false rumors. Also, this news has nothing to do with asian dramas, which is what I go to MDL for.

This reminds me of Journey of Flower but I like how the ML is a lot softer to the FL and expresses his feelings more than Bai Zi Hua.

This drama really does not age well. Unless they change the story to fit 2023, I can't see how it will work out.
