Same thought. The chances of them airing both dramas is slim at this point. I'm only hoping for some new promo content. Maybe a proper trailer or OST or even new stills. Then my happy fan heart will be contented.

I never "advertised" Chong Zi. I'm also least interested in watching it out of the 3, but there are people out there who are. Only reason I mentioned it was because it is going to air at the same timeslot on a different platform. Same genre dramas don't air tgt often but when they do, competition can come in many forms. Viewership, comparison, fan wars... e.g. When Immortal Samsara and LBFAD aired at the same time, fans fought each other every day. There were also people who disliked one of the dramas and gained interest in the other one due to the frequent comparison going around. This is inevitably going to happen, it's a part of human nature and a byproduct of airing same genre at the same time.

If this, Starry Love and Chong Zi all end up airing in the same month, I won't know how to feel about it. I would be happy to have 3 xianxia dramas to watch, but the viewership will definitely get impacted. Unless Youku wants to use both dramas to compete against Chong Zi, but I doubt that's a good idea. I'd rather they aired the dramas back to back.

I know it changed to S+ recently, but Youku hasn't been treating it like one. I hope this level up will make them care about this drama more

It sucks that BFTB keeps being treated like some backup plan and gets compromised. It wasn't an S+ tier drama to start with, and some internal reviewers even said there were quality issues. But I still believe it can be received well if they promote it better. If they don't air it this month, they better not air it at the same time as Chong Zi or another upcoming xianxia drama.

BFTB is going to be postponed again. Originally Neo Hou was going to go live tmr to promote the drama, but the drama got postponed last minute.

It seems like Youku couldn't overpower the other stakeholders that were fighting for this month's slot. The Starry Love might have gotten the slot. The stakeholders of that drama don't want to compete with other xianxia dramas like Chong Zi.

I still have hopes for Back From The Brink to air first. Because it was not Youku that decided to release the trailer and OST MV for The Starry Love. It was the production company, that got to decide how to promote their own drama. Youku is a lot slower at releasing promotion material, so if they decide to air BFTB first, they will release the trailer very close to the air date to confirm the date.

They did, but they had to make edits recently. When you make edits, you have to resubmit the edited parts for review again. This means they still cannot air The Starry Love at this moment. That's why Youku is trying to air Back From The Brink first.

Okay, I did some research and found out it was The Starry Love's production company that released the trailer, not Youku. Youku wanted to air BFTB first, because TSL still needs some editing and is not ready yet, but TSL's company kept insisting they would be done soon and asked Youku to wait. The fact is, TSL still needs to get their license again after the edit. Youku needs to listen to TSL's company because they are backed up by big investors and have affiliation with a TV broadcasting company (that is going to air TSL).

Is there still a chance that BFTB can air first? Maybe, if TSL takes too long to get the license. I think Youku is betting on either one of them. If TSL gets license in time, they will air TSL and push BFTB to next month. If not, they will air BFTB.
