In the novel, FL ends up with SML. It's one of the things ppl liked about the novel, but for those who want ML…
Haha not sure if they have the guts to do that. It would be a pretty bold thing to happen in dramaland.

ML finds out his identity, SML finds out his identity, FL needs to get married to SML, war breaks out, ML and…
Are the previous Novoland ones worth watching? I've never watched anything from that series before.

I'm really glad that a lot of xianxia dramas are going to come out this year. I hope we get some good ones. The ones I am keeping an eye out for are Blue Whisper, Immortal Samsara, Love Never Fails, The Longest Promise, Eternal Love (bad name clash), Back from the Brink, Till The End of The Moon, Love When the Stars Fall, Fox Spirit Matchmaker, Hua Rong, Chong Zi, Chen Yuan and Qian Qiu Ling. Omg the list is so long lol. Let me know if I'm missing out on anything XD

when they said she lost 6 of her senses I legit thought they meant she was blind, deaf, and had no sense of touch…
It is a translation problem. In Chinese, she is described to have incomplete senses.

I AM NOT CONVINCED THAT THEY FELL IN LOVE JUST LIKE THAT WTF.
Same here. I think they ruined the romance by making it happen too fast and suddenly. Now I feel a sense of alienation everytime the romance parts come on the screen :/

I guess they wanted the plot to focus on after the hundred years has passed and the first 5 episodes is like a prologue so they speedran through it (but it was a bad idea). Acting wise, I'm not feeling the chemistry between the leads, I think part of it has to do with Yukee Chen's acting. She doesn't feel like FL material. LYF was okay, not groundbreaking but he had better chemistry with other actresses. I also am a huge fan of xianxia and xuanhuan dramas, I watched and loved all the big ones, so I was really looking forward to this one, but unfortunately it fell short. It's supposedly an S+ production but it's nowhere even close to that quality. The directing and editing is not good. ALP also had a humble beginning, but it was still way better than this one. I wonder if I should still give it a chance, seeing that they ruined the build up of the romance.

The pacing is really weird. So many things happen in the first several episodes (continue in spoilers)
ML finds out his identity, SML finds out his identity, FL needs to get married to SML, war breaks out, ML and FL fall in love instantly, FL's love for ML brings disaster to the regime, then FL dies to undo it all. Then hundreds years past and the country is gone, the war is over, and everything is different now. And it all happens in just 5 episodes. Everything happened so quickly and at the same time that I couldn't get into or feel strongly for what happened. I couldn't even feel the deep love the leads supposedly had for each other, because it felt like they just saw each other for several times.

Title Immortal Samsara: Part 1 Spoiler
In the novel, FL ends up with SML. It's one of the things ppl liked about the novel, but for those who want ML…
Basically a lot of angst and ill fate happens between ML and FL that causes them to grow apart, whereas SML is the only person who really devotes himself for FL from beginning to end. SML is so selfless to the point that he doesn't even care if FL will leave him and go back to ML one day, so he generally deserves FL more and FL does choose him in the end. The novel is written so that FL and SML's love line become the focus on the latter half (SML basically becomes ML at some point). If the drama version decides to have og ML as the end game they will probably change the plot to make it more ML centric.

Title Immortal Samsara: Part 1 Spoiler
So I heard about the novel and I'm not sure if the drama will follow the novel's ending (in spoilers below)
In the novel, FL ends up with SML. It's one of the things ppl liked about the novel, but for those who want ML and FL to end up tgt, it's not a happy ending, so I don't know if they will change it in the drama.

Person Evan Lin
His acting is really good for a singer-turned actor. Looking forward to his next work!

I really enjoyed the series (minus first few episodes when the FL was toxic) up till the later half where they started to romanticize stalking and obsessive, forceful behavior of ML. He is also bad at kissing cuz he applies too much force and the FL actress looks like she's actually in pain sometimes. The ML was quite uniquely written in the first half, but at the second half he just became a rich and obsessive ML like in other cliche dramas. It was like two different dramas. There was even sexism, ML told a kid that he can't cry because he is a man and men don't cry. FL didn't correct him, and she even spanked the kid (on another occasion). I would've expected better from FL since she knows psychology. She even started asking Xiao Lu for advice on ML's mental state. Did the director forget who majored in psychology? Also, the Cheng Yin thing wasn't properly wrapped up.

Does the ML can see again? If yes, in what episode? Wanpheng looks ugly in here, so different when saw her in…
I think it was ep 16

Out of all the versions, this one was the most draggy. It could've done much better with 20 episodes shaved off. There was simply not enough material for 50 episodes, so they added a whole bunch of side plots. At some point it had me wondering whether the main characters were still the mains. Even for the main romance line, it was just going around in circles. It's obvious that they prolonged this drama just to earn more money off of it, but they didn't have enough story to support it.

To get around the airing license regulations. Too many episodes, if combined into one series
Oooh, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for your patient explanation :)

The combined episode count is 51. Don't C-dramas usually have more episodes than that? Sorry for asking so many questions, I don't know much about the situation.
