I always hated how Xu Feng treated Run Yu more than I hated Run Yu. Someone as tragic and lonely as Run Yi needs more love and support from his family, but all Xu Feng did was defend his evil mother and blame Run Yu for not being persistently good, without ever trying to protect or speak for his brother even once. Run Yu was the biggest victim, but apparently their demonic mother deserves more love and forgiveness, and when a victim does even one thing wrong because of mental fragility, everyone loses empathy for him, and that just shows how cold society is.

What he said was "Shi ge" (master brother), not "Shuai ge" (handsome guy). I guess it's simply a casual way of addressing an older senpai of the same sect.

This I would say is 60% love story like Ashes of Love, and 40% wuxia fighting between different clans, so it probably falls into the hybrid group, though the romance element is strong as well. For better comparison, it has more wuxia politics and fighting scenes than AOL and TMOPB, but has more romance than Fuyao and Sky Empire.

When SF was in heaven, before he went down to earth to accompany XJ for the tribulations, he was a golden bird deity/God. After he went to earth, he reincarnated 10 times, each time with a different identity and background. It just happens that in his 10th lifetime, he was born as a golden bird demon, which probably doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he used to be a golden bird deity in heavens. It was a fateful coincidence, per say.

Although both the golden bird deity and golden bird demon are evolved from the same "animal", main difference is that demons gain their powers from eating spiritual energy from others, while deities gain powers from normal cultivation. Apart from that, there are demons offspring born from demon parents, like SF's 10th lifetime; and heavenly immortal offspring born from heavenly immortals, like SF's original self in heaven realm.

Kill Me Heal Me, Because This is My First Life and Thirty But Seventeen are among my favs too!! Goblin is a drama that I have a love-hate relationship with. I really enjoyed She Was Pretty, although it was a romcom with a lot of cliches. It seems we have a similar taste :)

Agreed! Xuanji actually believed in Sifeng for the longest time she could. Even when other people started to turn their backs on him. It was up until Haochen's death that she really did a 180, which makes perfect sense cuz Haochen really DID die, and how would she know the death doesn't matter since Haochen is going back to heaven anyway? To a worldly human being, death is a very significant thing.

It seems that lovers curse doesn't break until the "patient" has absolute trust that their partner loves them as their true selves. SF's curse didn't break even though XJ loves him, because he is hiding a secret from her and is not entirely sure how she would react if she found out. Same goes for SF's father. SF's mother truly loved SF's father but the curse didn't break because he thought she wouldn't love him if she knew he was a demon.

And from what I've seen from the trailers, his suffering isn't even over. There's still more to come D:

Yeah I just can't casually accept teacher student relationships like it's nothing. I know it's controversial and some cases are true love, but promoting such relationships exposes young teens to major threats and it's better to not allow it. That's why I'm not a fan of teacher-student romance dramas.

I almost never have issues with age gaps, as long as the leads have enough chemistry, but I had an issue with the early parts of Doctors. I found it creepy when ML fell for FL when he was a teacher and she was his student. Plus the fact that FL had a broken family and was often alone, plus the fact that he almost chased after her when she left the town.

Students are dependents of teachers, they respect and trust teachers, and this relationship shouldn't be taken advantage of for selfish reasons like infatuation. Especially when the student is vulnerable and has no one by her side to protect her. If ML was a bad guy, it could've been dangerous.

You're absolutely right. One of the key things about being a couple is sharing problems as a single unit, but apparently nobody in dramaland does this. They always keep secrets from their SO thinking it's for their good.

It zips by very quickly. The plot is filled with substance and there are no useless or draggy parts. It's one of the best C-dramas I've watched

I love this drama, but SF's suffering is too much! Just when you thought everything's over and they're gonna finally be by each other's side, something happens AGAIN and SF takes all the damage D:

Pretty sure that story is untrue. The real reason why God of War rebelled against the heavens was because she found out what HC had done to her (controlling her and reassembling her body and stuff). It definitely wasn't because HC got married to someone else. Siming probably just didn't know the truth and thought they were in love (cuz he knows HC has feelings for XJ).

Yes. After they pass their tribulation they will return to heaven and reprise their original roles there, while retaining all memories of all their lifetimes during he tribulations

Cutest scene ever!! And Cheng Yi said that line was impromptu, meaning it wasn't in the script and he just said it because he thought it would fit SF's character

Either they have different faces with each reincarnation, or there are too many gods for everyone to remember and most people working in heaven realm haven't seen their faces (which is weird cuz both XJ and SF are very famous)

I always thought she's been in love with him since ages ago, through all those little acts she does for him, the sparkle in her eyes when she talks about him and when she only calls out his name among everyone else.

It's so touching actually, given the fact her heart is made of glass and she does not know love, but her love is still trying so hard to reach out.

This drama is so sweet and sad at the same time. It feels like a torture watching the ML suffer, but the happy moments are so precious. This drama really plays with my emotions TT
