I can help to clarify the part about the golden bird deity vs golden bird demon.
In Taoism, all creatures, whether human or animals, can become immortal by cultivation, and depending on how they cultivate, they would become either a heavenly immortal/god or a demon. If they take the correct path of cultivation, they become heavenly immortals and gods, but if they decide to eat other people's qi to gain power, they become demons.
Hence the reason why there can be golden bird deities/gods and golden bird demons at the same time. They are both originally birds before cultivation, and they develop a human form when their power reaches a certain level, but whether they become god or demon depends on which path they take.
So SF's true form is an actual bird, just like how Zihu is a fox. He has a human body and a bird body which he can alternate between, but it simply isn't shown in the drama.
Guys, how come Tang She doesn't know who SF is, I meant the fact that SF was a deity and was kind of close to…
My guess is he mainly appeared in bird form when he was in the heavens. I remember Siming mentioning a couple times that God of War used to talk to and befriend some golden birds (and we know one of them is our ML). But he referred to them as birds and not immortals, which means SF probably appeared as a bird, and only turned into human form in some situations, such as when trying to protect God of War when she was tied up and punished.
Thank you soo much for the spoiler , I can now understand some rationale behind their actions ,btw do you have…
The story Siming said about XJ's resentment over HC's marriage could've been an untrue rumor. The true reason why XJ rebelled against the heavens should be because she found out that HC had been using her as a killing machine and also the secret about Mo Sha Xing. But Siming probably didn't know about it, seeing that he thinks XJ and HC are the true couple. HC could've still had a wife though, as that part seems likely to be a fact that everyone knows about.
DAW... such a cute little movie. Simple storyline but well executed, the cinematography with the food was amazing and there was some good humour. I also loved the metaphor of the private chef part. Nice watch during the weekend :)
Not sure I'm confident about these remakes. I always think Taiwanese dramas have a certain cultural flavor to them that make them good, and these feelings cannot be replicated. Surely, Cdramas have a different style that could still shine in a different way, but for those who have watched the original, it would be rather difficult to parallel the unique enjoyment that the Taiwanese versions have given to them. Most of the time, adjusting the story for censorship, political correctness, or simply to make it more modern is only going to take away the magic that made it good. Comparison and higher expectations could also bring bigger failure, so I would argue that remakes are often times riskier than making a drama from scratch.
You know even in the West there is a high tolerance for these kind of cultural appropriation if it falls under…
Funny thing is dreadlocks did not originate from black people. It was merely popularised by them. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Indians, and vikings have been found wearing dreadlocks much earlier than Jamaicans and Africans started doing so. Black people do not own dreadlocks. Saying that dreadlocks belong to them and nobody else can wear them or else it's racist IS racist and disrespectful to the cultures that actually invented dreadlocks. The reality is culture was and is always exchanged between communities, so much that one can never be entirely sure of something's origin and "who started it first". I wholeheartedly support racial equality, but calling everything racist would only cause more division and is more detrimental to the pursuit of equality than it is beneficial.

I agree with you. I think people should be allowed to choose their hairstyle with absolute freedom. Nobody owns a certain hairstyle. Cultural appropriation is more about the intent, such as dressing up as a native American in a game to make fun of them (in movie Parasite), or painting a blackface (this one has historical meaning to it). Cultural exchange on the other hand, is natural, respecting and should be encouraged. White people learning martial arts, different genres of music coming together, etc. If the person did dreadlocks thinking it looks nice and not doing it to mock another race, they shouldn't be faced with criticism, just like how Hyuna shouldn't have been cyber bullied for doing dreadlocks.
I found an online airing schedule that has hints (spoilers) of events that happen in some of the episodes. I think…
Ep.1-10 Initial encounter in Jianghu (world of wuxia), "holding hands" (being together) and delivering love Ep.17-18 Delivering love in the hot springs Ep.19-20 Vowing for the rest of the life, kissing in an entangled hug (entangled here also means a love that is deep and inseparable, it is commonly used to refer to husband and wife) Ep.33-34 Thin veil (could it mean marriage??), "leaning on" one another (being together) Ep.37-38 Plucking a flower to give to a beauty Ep.41-42 Meeting under the moon, old friends tied together by a red thread (may mean meeting again after a long separation?) Ep.43-44 Meeting again and longing to know more about someone (so someone you know os suddenly like a stranger, maybe there's amnesia involved?) Ep.47-48 Red knot has been tied (could be hinting for a happy ending)

Welcome to the club ! Hahah some of us here were also AOL fans and loved RunYu
Just watched the first three episodes and I gotta say I'm completely hooked. I was worried the leads wouldn't look good together, but their first scene together was already overflowing with chemistry! Both the martial arts plot and the romance look really well done, and the cinematography is great. Everything exceeded my expectations :)
OMO I can't believe I missed this one which has so many actors & actress from Ashes of Love!! There's my Night Immortal Runyu and dear Demon Princess, and her love interest in AOL is now the SML, now that's an interesting pair-up! Gotta watch this.
Kinda weird how it's rated 6.4 on Douban and 8.8 here. Should I give this a try?Edit: Now it's 6.0 on Douban
Douban users only give high scores to dramas that have deep philosophical/life messages or gripping plots. This drama is more fluff-over-substance, which is generally not their cup of tea.
It was rumored that they are dating in real life because they wore similar rings and one time when Yuan Hao went to a different province to film, he hosted a live chat with his fans and he was in his hotel room, and later on Zhao Zhao Yi also hosted a live and people noticed that the room in the background looked exactly the same, down to the details, so they speculated that they were dating and she went to visit him.
