Loved Matsuda Shota since Liar Game!!! He's not my idol but I do have a secret crush on him... hehe. I also watched a movie he was in, called Initiation Love. Had one of the biggest plot twists I've ever seen in a romance movie.
I can see how this is gonna strike up the same controversy that Are You Human Too and Absolute Boyfriend did. A bunch of people will come out and say "ew... a human shouldn't be with an AI/robot because it's not real" and "I wish she would end up with the human instead" then proceed to rate the drama lowly because of it. My opinion: if you can't accept the foundational concept / premise that the whole plot is based on, then sadly the drama just might not be for you.

This page is for the movie version of Pillow Book, not the drama version. Maybe you should move your review back to the drama page?
The leads are rumored to be DATING, so for everyone who ships the leads, you can now ship them in REAL LIFE!!! <3
For more info: ML's been filming another drama recently at a faraway province and he did live chats with fans inside his hotel room close to the filming location. FL also did a live chat at a similar time, and observant netizens noticed the background details of the video were completely identical to ML's hotel room, even though only a small portion was shown. It appears the FL was secretly visiting him. They were also seen wearing identical rings. Although they never announced anything, it was enough for ppl to speculate that they're in a relationship.
this drama is really cute and heartwarming, it doesn't have a groundbreaking storyline but it's the type of drama to watch while cuddling inside your bed holding a warm cup of hot chocolate, the type of drama that makes you go "aw... that's so sweet" not just for the romance but for the friendships and heartfelt dialogues as well
I love and hate this drama at the same time, it's full of cliches and things that don't make sense, plus what the ML did was hella creepy, but the romance is so cute I can't stop smiling while watching it...
the only drama that I rewatched 6 times... truly a masterpiece, it hurts me that this drama is slowly falling out of the top 10 most popular dramas on MDL
lmao toilet paper! That's what I felt for You Who Came from the Stars (one of the writer's previous dramas)..
I think the nostalgic/old style is sth that's romantic, groundbreaking and sincere. Sth that you will remember even after a long time, because it's iconic for its concept and characters. The plot helps to bring out the sentiments, while the romance deepens the plot. Nowadays dramas often try too hard to be something more, and they end up with a lukewarm romance and an undeveloped plot.

I didn't like You Who Came from the Stars either mainly because the plot was too simple and I couldn't feel the chemistry, but I'm enjoying Crash Landing on You. It has a simple plot too but the romance is on point and the bonding between the main and side characters is heartwarming and funny. This is the only drama that I like from this writer, so maybe you should give it another try.

Yeah, basically. But to be fair, for a thin plot, the drama actually did pretty well in engaging me. If it were another drama and the plot was like this, I would've dropped it in ages. This one however, managed to keep me entertained because the characters were well-written and it gave me nostalgic old drama vibes that I'm a fan of. I'd give it bonus marks just for this. If the plot had more to show it could've become one of my favorites, so what a bummer.

But for some reason I'm enjoying this a lot more than You Who Came From the Stars maybe because of Hyun Bin's romantic chemistry with his costars. But yeah I agree that the plot lacks substance.
If you read the most comments here you would realize that people actually like this show. Not everyone cares how…
Yes this drama gives me so many nostalgic feels! It reminds me of the older dramas, which I absolutely LOVE. I haven't watched a drama that gave me this feeling in a long long time.
I think the character is meant to be emotionally withdrawn, doubting the sincerity of other people. He's been…
His acting was still unappealing in Rookie Historian, imho. It's not really about the personality of the character he's playing, but more about his subtle facial expressions. They feel stiff, awkward and inexperienced. There's a subtle difference between the character feeling stiff and awkward, and the actor feeling stiff and awkward while playing the character. It's like I can still see through the character and see Cha Eun Woo himself in it. It doesn't immerse me enough into thinking he IS the character that he's playing. Among rookie actors, there are so so many talents, but sadly I don't think he hits the mark, at least not mine. I do think he'll do better given time tho, so it's okay.
I don't understand the hate that HR is getting. HR is smart, brave and has her own life goals aside from love. She's a strong lady who doesn't want to depend on men. You don't see FLs like this often. Yes, she did require a lot of saving throughout, but she's been maturing to be more and more independent in recent episodes.
8.9 after 4 episodes? This has Extraordinary You written all of over.
I would say Extraordinary You was much MUCH more risky and prone to error as it had a more innovative storyline from the get-go, which is why it had high expectations that weren't satisfied. Crash Landing OY on the other hand plays safe and builds upon the "tried and true" cliches while adding some fresh twists and comedy, making it less likely to fail too badly. So the two dramas aren't really comparable in this sense.
The most noticeable difference is that Extraordinary You started with novelty, promised novelty, and ultimately gave people cliches, while Crash Landing started with cliches, promised cliches, and ultimately did give cliches but with some surprise.
