That's not likely, since he had other girlfriends shortly after he broke up with that girl. And he ghosted her without even explaining or saying goodbye. That's not a good way to end things.
This drama had SO SO MUCH potential. It really could have been the best k-drama in history if more details were put into world building, the characters were less fixated on romance, and if the story had a better message that was consistent with the premise of changing fates. Even as a standalone drama without all these expectations, it was just an ordinary romance drama that fed on countless cliches.
Depends on what kind of CPRIf they freaking massaged him when he was having ventricular fibrilation than it was…
Unfortunately, they probably wouldn't have been able to save him even if they knew what was wrong with him. They didn't have any medical back-up or tools at all. For a show that requires so much exercise from the participants, medical support is a must-have. This is a huge slip up on the production company's part and they are fully responsible for his death :(
Depends on what kind of CPRIf they freaking massaged him when he was having ventricular fibrilation than it was…
From what I have read, after he collapsed his heart stopped beating, and the other celebrities called out for a doctor to come but there was no doctor on set. A person with some medical knowledge came over to perform CPR on him and his heart started beating again before he was sent to the hospital. People thought he was going to be fine because his heartbeat came back, but unfortunately he died in the hospital a few hours later.
I was so worried about her the whole time. Her IG live dedicated to Sulli was heartwrenching to watch, and I knew she was struggling to live too. I saw her IG post dancing with her fd, saying that she felt better afterwards, so I thought she was gradually recovering, but I was so wrong. I feel sorry for what she experienced, people just couldn't let her be, they had to target her with all those vicious comments even though she was already having a hard time with the lawsuits and loss of reputation. She wasn't even the one who was wrong. She was a victim too, but the endless bullying just didn't stop. After what happened to Sulli, I was constantly hoping that things would get better for Hara so she didn't have to walk down the same path, but in the end it still happened and I feel powerless because there was nothing I could do for her except to support her music. RIP Hara... hope you can finally be free up there.
Toxic parts of the Korean culture really need to be addressed, including cyberbullying, agencies not caring about their idols and treating them only as money makers, and not having adequate mental support systems for people. And I know bullying doesn't only happen in the entertainment industry, but also in daily life especially in schools, on top of that people care too much about looks and superficiality. They really should stop all this shaming culture.
Let's not continue on the bullying. He was never charged with sexual assault because the sex between them was…
You made really good points!! Don't mind the other's subjective judgments about what you said. It's obvious you werent victim shaming or saying that guy was right. I think it's fine if they think it's necessary to re-investigate the case to see if anything was left out, tho I doubt it would change anything given that they already gave all the evidence they had. We never know the true reason why Goo Hara committed suicide, but as someone who has had depression as well, I would say it definitely isn't because of a single reason, but multiple reasons combined. And I'm sure netizen comments and the fact that she couldn't promote in Korea without being judged are among those reasons as well. But instead of looking into their cyberbullying, Knets shifted the focus on that guy, and he'll likely be cyberbullied again just like what people did to Hara. All this judgment should really just stop, regardless of whether the person "deserves" to be criticized. Using law to punish them is the right way to do things, and they already did that.
I really love the characters in this drama, even the villains.
Nokdu is smart, agile, and often comes up with unexpected plans to solve problems. His portrayal as lady Kim is nurturing and graceful. The two have completely different vibes but are also very similar in a way.
The king is the most 3-dimensional character. He's flawed and does cruel things, but at the same time you can really feel his pain and fear. He's a pitiful character.
Dong Joo is a strong female lead who does things her way and never shirks from danger. She's brave, determined and protects Dong Joo as much as Dong Joo protects her. The reciprocity of their relationship is healthy and ideal.
The Mu Wol corps and widows are all very unique in personality, and that's what makes them interesting to watch.
P.S. Dan Ho is a pretty cool bodyguard. He doesn't have many lines but I notice him a lot. LOL
I'm at ep 11 and I really don't get some things. Is Prince Yeongchang supposed to take the throne and the one…
Prince Yeongchang is not the legitimate heir to the throne. He is the son of the king's brother, so if he wants to be king he has to fight for it. Nokdu's father and the minister who saved him both care about the king but also think he is incompetent and want someone else to be king. So basically everyone is plotting against the king with their own agenda, hence if the king finds out he will certainly feel betrayed and hate his own son as well thinking that his position will be taken.
The main problem of this drama is how it tricks you into believing it is a self-deterministic story about characters trying to change their fate, but is actually just a cookie cutter romance about people PRE-determined to be together and not be together. They simply wrapped up all the common tropes into a comic book setting to give you the illusion that it's gonna have a unique plot. Everything about free will and being self-aware is thrown out the window. Angst is also very very repetitive.
Here's my version of the story: What if the writer is someone who looks exactly like Dan Oh, and is experiencing the same things in life while projecting herself into the comic, and the ending is about her breaking free from her fate and finding a better life? That way our questions of who the writer is and why she draws comics like these can be answered, plus she can have true free will to resolve things from the story, unlike comic book characters who are basically puppets and can't go into the real world.
From what I grasped of watching the last episode raw... free will doesn’t exist. This show is so mean to its…
Ikr and it also kinda makes the premise of the characters trying to change their fate pointless. They introduced a story full of hope and self-determination, but ended it in existential tragedy.
Getting a little philosophical about the ending, but the way Haru disappeared could basically be considered as…
It's basically the same as real life. We never know if our fates are pre-determined, and life can be shit, but we try to make the best out of it as if we had free will. It's sad but as long as you can see it as an interesting journey you'll feel better lol
Extraordinary You in a nutshell:Girl becomes self-aware. She finds her other half. They fall in love. He disappears.…
Actually I have an idea after reading your comment! What if the writer is someone who looks exactly like Dan Oh, and is experiencing the same things in life while projecting herself into the comic, and the ending is about her breaking free from her fate and finding a better life? That would be a much more self-deterministic approach, instead of comic book characters trying to break free but not succeeding (because they never can and that defeats the whole premise of the drama).
every actor has haters no biggie .be authentic and stay true to ur hate.
It's not like I actually hate him but I just don't think his acting skills are very polished. Thanks for your understanding towards my personal opinion tho :)
I might be labelled as a hater if I say this, but I honestly can't stand Cha Eun Woo's acting. I really really tried to get into this and give him a chance, and I love his looks, but his acting is nowhere fit for a ML role. Most of the time I can't tell if he's mad, happy, sad, shocked or indifferent because they somehow all look the same. He looks even more awkward when he has no lines and is purely listening to other characters talk but the camera is trying to show his reaction. I think he needs to start with some secondary roles and practise from there. I'm looking forward to his future works, hopefully he gets better after getting more experience.
Wow... that last scene of Baek Kyung in the latest episode...I feel that he was crying cause he wanted Dan Oh…
But wouldn't she die if she DIDN'T change the story?
Imo Baek Kyung is actually ok with Dan Oh dying. He just wants everything to follow the script like it should, because in the script at least Dan Oh still loves him and is with him till the end, they also get engaged at least, even if she has to die as a result. Baek Kyung simply cannot accept the fact that Dan Oh has decided to love another person. If he truly is thinking for her, he wouldn't have persistently tried to stop her from changing her fate. He's just selfish. And the fact that he tries to kill her again just so she can forget about ever trying to break away from him for Haru, proves that he treats her like his possession and not a person he truly cares about.
There's only 5 episodes left but there are still many things waiting to happen. This drama is so unpredictable even though it is somewhat based on history, and the cliffhangers are really testing my patience!! I hope we get a good ending :(
as the drama progresses into more serious/emotional territory, i only become more and more impressed by the lead's…
Not only is Jang Dong Yoon's acting very natural, his character as Nokdu is also uncommon in k-dramas. Nokdu is smart, agile, very decisive about what to do and is also very upfront about his feelings. He is able to outsmart his enemies, and trap them before they can trap him, which a lot of leads in other dramas can't do. He's also very nurturing and a real gentleman on top of that. I've never seen a more charming ML. And Jang Dong Yoon definitely has that vibe to pull it off well, maybe because he's like that in real life too.

P.S. My first bias Hyun Bin and nation's goddess Son Ye Jin look so good together!
