Also, both J&J and THK have bad scripts. Just because fans rated that one higher means nothing, it just exemplifies the shitty fandom culture where fans will support whatever bad quality output their ship puts out. That means the viewers who actually want more have to roll over and take it? Companies will treat art as a profit making venture, but to say that we should just accept that is such a sad way of looking at things.

I would argue all of TayNew’s shows have been genuinely good actually. DBK was a bit telenovela, but well directed and acted, CM was a great romcom, Peaceful Property was one of the best Thai shows last year.

GemFourth had two bangers with MSP and MC, but let down by MLMU. I personally think We Are was a great showcase for PondPhuwin and their NLMG wasn’t bad either.

I actually don’t think Aof is the best all the time. Like the ending of Last twilight was so disappointing, I didn’t even finish it. I think he struggles with endings, I remember I got bored with thousand stars and BBS also.

The characters are supposed to be messy and the situations they get in are supposed to be messy and dramatic, not the plotline and not the character journey. A messy script does not equal a script which portrays entertaining messiness., the former is bad writing.

The worst part of it was that the series didn’t even live up to the shocking, messy drama. The fixed couples ended up together just to secure their branding, side characters were superfluous and didn’t bring enough drama, and some of the acting was very mid.

Oh ya, both WS and the Girl Rules will happen before the TayNew show I think, but those are not comedies.

The worst crime of this series is not that it’s nonsensical, but that it’s boring. Campiness, if well done, can be so much fun like the recent See Your Love show for example. But here? It was just dragged out and boring.

I’m starting to think neither FirstKhao nor JoongDunk will ever have a truly good bl series. Eclipse script was a mess, SIMM was cute but juvenile and flimsy, OF was an even bigger mess, HA was too boring to even get through, and now this show …

I’m starting to really worry about the next comedy Jojo has coming up, which is the TayNew bl. Please please please let him really work on and improve the script so it’s not boring and nonsensical as this one. TayNew shows have all been genuinely good, they deserve to follow up with another good series.

Just so so messy…. I don’t even mind slice of life, university/school bls like many fans do. I think if they are well done, these types of bls can be enjoyable. We are from the same director was far better, because the friend group interactions were great and the chemistry between the actors was mostly superb.

But this show has such a weird script and incomprehensible characters! Casting popular actors whose fanbase will hype them up regardless of the quality seems to be the go to strategy here. The characters are insufferable otherwise.

I get what you mean, bl series like Kidnap, TT, MLMU, THK, Perfect 10, etc all have such weak, silly scripts and messy execution. But then, the script of this series is also very messy and full of plotholes, the rating is high because of the serious subject matter.

Also, both Peaceful Property and High School Frenemy from gmmtv last year are far far better than Not Me.

Fact is, some of these older couples are popular simply because they came at a time when there weren’t that many BL couples. If some of these couples debuted nowadays, they wouldn’t be half as popular.

The Danyok storyline in this series is better than Seanwhite one for sure.

His acting has been very mediocre to bad not only in this series but also in CC and MM. He failed to inject charisma, his expressions are frozen, he was completely out acted by Tor, Nanon(who played the same character in a far better way) and even Off ( who was much better than him in both CC and TT).

His fans seem to think he is a good actor because he did some indie acting work and he has experience, but his recent work has been very mid. Instead of constantly improving, he seems to be going backwards, his earlier work was better.

Read the Chinese drama synopsis and even in that not all the princes are in love with her.

Knowing gmmtv, they will probably follow the Korean storyline because it seems more of a viral fan fave, but let’s see

University/school bls are made for domestic audience, who are more profitable than international fans. Domestic audiences continue to like these kinds of stories, so gmmtv will continue to make them
