Poom is the breakout here, Chinese fans especially rate him very highly. There is plenty of disappointment about the casting and the interpretation of Ming’s character, a lot of it present in this very comment section you mentioned and on other Internet spaces.

Ming’s character in the novel is supposed to be show stopping handsome, super tall (188 cm) and young (20-21) at the start.
Looks and age wise, Dew works but I dunno if he has the acting chops to carry the role. Tor thanapob has the looks and the acting capability, but he’s not the right age. Still, I think he would’ve been the best choice among Thai actors I know of.
