Normal for those who liked it Wandee Goodday e We Are.
Your poor choice of vocabulary and lack of reading comprehension leads me to believe that responding to you is meaningless, but I’ll try one more time. Nowhere did I mention my favourites are the two arbitrary bls you randomly picked out of my watchlist. Also, I must have missed the conclusive vote where everyone decided which ones were the worst bls in Thailand.
ITSAY is boring and people who have had exposure to media with even a hint of sophistication will not call this art lmao.
Normal for those who liked it Wandee Goodday e We Are.
The two bls are fluffy pieces which mostly succeed in their purpose, which is to entertain.
ITSAY is boring and bogged down by its own self importance. The execution is so incredibly hammy, without any regard for delicacy or refinement. Im sure its art to you, but for those with broader experience, its an overly melodramatic attempt to emulate generic arthouse cinema.
Read a comment one time that says *some people are not supposed to be watching toxic red flag shows* I completely…
Lmao, the way I was completely with you on the first sentence, then I read the rest. I agree, some people really shouldn’t watch shows with toxic behavior, because they are unable to distinguish that enjoying a fictional portrayal of a “villain” is not the same as supporting similar behavior in real life. Some people apparently never get beyond the kindergarten level of media analysis.
does the "chemistry" being him harming & yelling at daon every single damn time?or maybe when he threatened to…
The chemistry being the college flashbacks shown during the end credit scenes. Like it or not, a lot of viewers like the chemistry between Daon and his hyung than with SeongHyeon, Daon seemed obviously more smitten
This is a fictional series and we are watching this for entertainment, so enjoying watching a character who turns out to be violent is not the same as endorsing the same behavior in real life. OP even says another series and not this one. Soohyeon is not redeemable in this one.
I saw so many reels on insta for this and was hooked... then I saw that it has a manhwa and checked who Daon is…
lol yeah, the organic hype for this series is between Daon and Soohyeon 🤣
But they portrayed SooHeyon as way too angry and violent in the actual show. He needed to be more redeemable to be endgame, and it would’ve been more entertaining to watch than what’s actually gonna happen.
I don’t want him with SuHyeon either, he’s way too volatile and angry, that’s just tiring.I think what people…
Yeah, it’s all subjective for sure. To me SeongHyeon’s character seems very bland in comparison to say Karan in Cherry Magic Thailand, who is also a green flag protector but portrayed far more charismatically. That’s just one example.
It doesn’t help that the flashback scenes are written in a way that Daon seems far more into Sooheyeon than he has ever seemed into SeongHyeon.
Imma speak it into existence LOL but im TOTALLY OK WITH DA ON ENDING UP WITH NONE OF THEM 👏👏👏 i said…
Yep, I’m with you on this one. There have been so many better portrayals of this kind of nice guy characters in bl, this one is just not charming enough. Daon looked more into his hyungs than he is into this guy lol
Honest question to people who want Da On and Su Hyeon together: What exactly can Su Hyeon offer Da On as a partner?…
I don’t want him with SuHyeon either, he’s way too volatile and angry, that’s just tiring.
I think what people are reacting to is that to many viewers , Daon’s actor has more chemistry with him and even Jaemin than with SeongHyeon. Also, this kind of smiley, “green flag” puppy character has been portrayed many times in many different bls much more successfully. Needed someone with more charisma in this role maybe.
Normal for those who liked it Wandee Goodday e We Are.
Yep, the fluff in We Are and the acting in WG was definitely much better than what was served up in this series. But that’s because I have actually watched a wide variety of media and don’t get easily impressed into thinking a little bit of indie movie copycat cinematography and vast amounts of snot equates to good art. Simple fluff wins over boring overwrought melodrama any day of the week.
I don't know what to think at all!! Jae Min is obviously nuts, and Seong Hyeon is the good guy who I should like,…
The series clearly wants the viewers to root for Seong Hyeon… he’s such a stock character though, 4 bls out of a random 5 will have someone like him, there’s nothing distinctive about him. Doesn’t help that Daon’s actor has more chemistry with the other two than him lol
Actually in the WEBTOON, it was Jaemin that Daon really liked. That was one of the main reasons why Jaemin was…
They’ve changed that in the series then. The letter in the past is addressed to S, not J. Also the flashback scene in episode 6 with S and Daon (that scenes has a lot more chemistry than the co worker and Daon lol)
I think the reveal of who Daon actually liked in the past makes it more interesting.
Ok, the narrative is clearly setting up the co-worker to be the endgame. The whole meet-cute, green flag vibe. Now usually I would eat that up BUT ….somehow it doesn’t work for me here😂 I normally like the devoted, selfless lover, but I dunno, Seonghyeon doesn’t click for me lol. His eyes are not sad enough maybe.
That doesn’t mean I am rooting for Su Hyeon either, they’ve made him too violent and assholish. Ideally, an interesting take would’ve been to keep the story as it is, with the central twist of the pact and the secret of who Daon really loved in the past, but make Su Hyeon a bit more redeemable. Sustain the tension about who Daon would end up with, between the past love and the new suitor, with Su Hyeon being end game. A bit of red flag is interesting in fiction. But the series clearly wants to simplify the choice by showing Su Hyeon to be way too temperamental.
Needless to say, Jaemin is a sociopath and out of the question altogether, but I enjoy his machinations lol
I've got a storytime I want to share with you. It's not really connected to ThamePo, rather to context of 10th…
The whole “idols can’t date” culture is not as prevalent in western fandoms, but fans are still very rabid and para social. Can’t forget Larry for eg 😂
Many artists cultivate that kind of obsessive parasocial relationships with their fans in the west too, Taylor swift for example.
That's why I'll always be grateful to boc for not letting their actors do fanservice.
And yet fans act so entitled over boc actors too. I read how Mile was actually communicating with big fan accounts and downplaying his relationship. That’s crazy to me
The idol culture is crazy to us, but the fact is it is perpetrated by the companies. They encourage that kind of parasocial relationship because it gives them that kind of fanatical engagement, and ultimately money. That’s all it boils down to. It’s unhealthy and toxic, the behavior of fans (like Baifern in this episode) is incomprehensible.
Same goes for bl couples, fans act so crazy and entitled over them. Like, there are so many Valentine’s Day posts/videos/pictures from bl couples, fans went nuts over those. Now if it comes out these guys are not dating each other but someone else? These fans will go equally crazy. This kind of fanservice is just weird and unhealthy imo, but money rules over everything I guess.
Being bad at acting wasn't enough for dunk so he was bad at kissing too like the way he kiss is such a turn off…
Because he is in the 99th percentile in terms of BL actor looks and he does a lot of fanservice. That goes a long way.
However, I do think he has hit the ceiling in terms of popularity, B+ list is how far he can go. You can’t be A list without acting skills and an actually good series.

Good cinematography doesn’t make up for the series equivalent of purple prose.

Real life too, Mark has more seme energy than Junior does.
I have hopes for Wine though, I don’t think Mark is playing it so childishly, so we will see.
