I miss this drama so much. Never seen such a sweet romance after this one. It is made for people who want to watch actual historical romance. Not historical palace, historical mystery, historical war,... Just historical romance. (The comedy is also good but not all through the drama and not that much.)
Why Chinese directors become so stingy when it comes to romance in historical dramas? The the drama itself is unrealistic, why not adding a lot of hot (unrealistic) romantic parts? Every time I feel like it is 0.001% romance and 99.999% plotting and scheming. The heavily romantic series either go boring, too light, or silly. There is always unnecessary obsessive second leads and love triangle. Everyday I appreciate "General's Lady" more, and wish I could erase my memory and watch it again. Most efficient Chinese romantic historical drama. No obsessions, no serious misunderstandings, no abusive relationships, no unnecessary screen time for unnecessary characters and storyline, comfortable and passionate romance, just as it should be.
She has a really nice smile. Sad to see so many are so quick to judge on her look. She is also pretty with no…
In Falling into your smile, I found FL's acting unsatisfying. Although beautiful, she couldn't show much emotions and wasn't good in romantic and emotional moment. But FL is this drama is a way better actress.
This one is my type of historical drama. I have seen a lot of other historical C-Dramas with higher rating and popularity like The Long Ballad or Legend of Fuyao, but after Prince of Lanling and Princess Weiyoung none of them pleased me like this one: + This drama has appropriate amount of suspense, sad moments, cute and happy moments, emotional moments, romantic moments. It doesn't go far in a specific aspect. Not always everything is good (like the Long Ballad) or always everything is bad (like Goodbye my princess). Romance doesn't get too passionate, but also doesn't get dull or boring. + The leads are mostly together and have a lot of screen time. They have one of the most natural and friendly relationships I have ever seen in a historical C-Drama. They joke and flirt a lot with each other. + The acting is 10/10. Peng Xiao Ran is unbelievably good. I cried a lot of times when she cried. She is so rich in her emotions and expressions that you can just watch the drama for her sake. Jin Han is also very good. His character is less serious compared to FL and in written to be more emotionally reserved. But he does it perfectly. + The leads chemistry is excellent. They look very good together. FL has a beautiful, cute appearance and ML has such a manly figure and aura. They complement each other very well. + FL is strong, clear-minded, clever, capable and kind. ML is strong, smart, caring, supportive, and fun. Both are mature and don't fall into stupid misunderstandings. FL doesn't look at any man other than ML. + No any annoying clichés, also the story doesn't get very harsh like in Prince of Lanling or Princess Weiyoung. Our strong leads just save us from all the potential frustrations. + ML action scenes are very good. There are not much of them like a fighting or war drama, but Jin Han 's movements besides his strong, manly energy makes them very pleasing. + This is a reverse-harem romance, but even people who don't like reverse-harem (like me) would like it, because FL is so clear about her romantic feeling. + ML is so funny, especially when he shows a poker face. He and his two brothers are such an enjoyable trio to watch. - A lot of struggles and trouble are instantly solved without explaining how it happened or how our leads managed to handle them. That is kind of disappointing. - Ending, although obvious, feels a bit unsatisfying. I really needed one extra episode. - Story is good, but not the best. For example, some of the troubles were quickly resolved by the fact that king fears that his reputation among people is harmed, even though he doesn't care about people at all.
*** There is an unreasonable hate for the actor of ML, because he used to play some villain roles and doesn't have a girlish or idol-like face. That's why the score on MDL is less that what the drama deserves. If you don't dislike ML's actor, then the rating would be higher for you.
She is a great actress. She was excellent in Goodbye My Princess and extraordinary good in Jun Jiu Ling. I will watch any drama in which she is the lead. She is very beautiful. She can convey aa wide range of emotions so well. When she starts to cry, I get tears. She can show many different emotions only by her eyes. 2022 is a blessed year.
She really reminds me of Park Se Young who was the main female lead in Money Flower
They are very similar. Their photos can be used for "Find 7 differences between these two pics" puzzles. I've not found a way to distinguish them, yet.

It is so difficult to wait for this drama.
