This drama is a pretty fun ride with lots of inconsistences which were bearable to some extent. But one of most jarring points of this drama, aside from the plot holes, was those night scenes, all of them were shot in the most sunniest days you could find with a grayish weird filter on them to make us, viewers believe that it was actually night time. It happens in every other scene so it is super hard to ignore and truly takes away from the whole experience.

There is comment thread of " Ice_qreenm " down below, their take on this story is what I based my comment on, I just don't like white lotus type of people as if they're the purest and noblest of everyone around them. Male lead seems to fit into that category from what I gathered from the synopsis as well as comments. Also what actually put me off is the ending he got, I wouldn't mind if he actually didn't love her and behaved the way he did but it seems like he had other thoughts in his heart yet acted like he is above those filthy feelings.

I was gonna watch this for the sake of ZZ (cause she is awesome) but after reading all comments, I'm like, no, nope, not gonna happen.
If a male lead is sh*t and still it's the female lead gets the short end of the stick I just can't bring myself to walk into that hell willingly, I love watching a good anti hero or crooked characters overall, but I feel like having a heart attack whenever I see white lotus b*tches(male lead in this case), it just drives me insane.
So hard pass on this one and fingers crossed for ZZ's new drama :)

And I'm done, this dragged too much, they should've made it 11 episodes at max. I thought I'd like this one a lot but nope, despite the fact I loved the female lead and Xiao Qiao (she was so badass) a lot by the end I was simply bored out of my mind. Probably it wasn't a good idea to binge watch this, there was no real conflict nor soothing slice of life feeling that could carry the drama. But again if I were to watch this one over the course of a week to 2 weeks I'd still not make it till the end without skipping.

p.s. Male lead should stay drunk, he was at least cute like that, he is totally not my cup of tea when sober.

I'm almost done with it and gosh the male lead can just marry with his dominant hand at this point cause I don't think there is a single woman nor man that could actually put up with his bs in real life, he is a good person and a friend(sorta, kinda) but dang he is truly frustrating beyond redemption.

Believe me, I had the same type of misgivings at first but this drama manages to handle such a complex problem with a quiet satisfactory conclusion.
I just love the dynamic between Chen Yun Ru and Huang Yu Xuan, at the end they actually heal one and other, it's beyond beautiful.

I'm at ep 5 and wow, Shao Xi might be one of the best female lead I've ever seen in a school drama setting, so far I'm blown away with her character, she is honest, righteous but not stupidly brave and her being in love doesn't hinder her life(so far at least), she is just so natural and so damn likeable.

I also adore slice-of-life genre when it's done well, thank you so much for the article, now I've got a good movie to add to my watchlist<3

I'm at episode 15 and not a single episode has passed without me shedding a tear, this drama is beyond beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I can't believe how they managed to create something so wonderful, big respect to whole drama team .
I'm a huge fan of reply series for their wonderful characterization and portrayal of familial relationships + friendship, while watching it I could feel the connection with their story despite the fact I had no inkling to such a life nor nostalgia it would carry, this drama has the same essence with reply series which is quite hard to come by. I hope that the rest of this journey can stay true to its origins.

After watching another dozen of dramas I'm back here again, this drama sooths my soul and sometimes that's all I need, a good cup of coffee and warm characters on my screen, that's all it takes to make another day just a bit better :)

I loved this drama but it made me feel all weird. I'm not sure if another version of us can still be counted as us. Do Won was basically trying replace Seo Kyung with another version of her which didn't sit that well with me.

So far so good, I'm getting Korean odyssey + Guest vibes from this, I'm loving that brown-red hair on Lee Yeon and Ji Ah is such a badass character, if they can keep up the mystery +thriller side of the plot till the end this one has the potential to become a cult material.
2020 had some good dramas so far but not exactly a great one, at least for the Korean market, hopefully this one can leave more impact than it's predecessors.

Xue Yao is a jerk that has his own class, he is so fickle, ruthless and cruel to Chuyue that I don't even know what she sees in him.

Okay, after watching bunch of other low budget Chinese historical fantasy romance dramas I have to give to this one, it was a good ride through and through.

Last 6 episodes were full on gay, hence it usually would be censored in China, think about it, Xuanji's gender is all open for discussion and LHJD and Sifeng's interactions was about to go down that route if Xuanji never took her form back, and of course it was evident that Bailin&LHJD apparently did not happen only due to Bailin's betrayal as LHJD said that Bailin was his soulmate.

p.s. Sifeng's melodramatic looks towards LHJD was actually too much BL for my taste, as it's usually not what I go for XDD but poor LHJD, by the end I could see that he was in love with Sifeng.

In order to save Sifeng, he gave his half of the crystal heart and then choose to dissipate with Dijun to avenge himself as he could not forget his hatred.

Luo Hou Ji Du is the most pitiful one after all, my heart broke for him, btw did anyone see how he looked at Sifeng, he was in loooove, poor guy.

p.s. if I hear one more person screaming "Sifeng!!!!", I'll be bald from pulling my hair out.

First paragraph of the synopsis was enough eye rolling already;
"Mu Jue Chen is the young master of the Qian Mu Mountain Pavilion. Dashingly handsome, exceptionally clever, and also a skilled martial artist, he is beloved by his subjects."
Can't imagine the drama itself, XD, I'll give it a shot, thanks a lot <3
