This show is sooo well paced. If it is just the ML falling for one FL, waiting >20 eps for them to date is usually such a chore. But the way the filter is used makes the romance so enjoyable. I tend to be very very impatient for the romance to start and I am here too, but they make the wait so much more thrilling! The comedy is awesome as well and they casted everyone perfectly. But dare I say, this is one tormented ML haha
I teared up, poor Si Eun is gonna live with so much guilt after what happened to Su Ho... Pls let us have another season or let him wake up in the end ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
This drama is very honest about what it is and is not trying to aspire for anything else. So if you enjoy it from the first episode, you'll probably enjoy the rest, but if it's not your vibe then I'd just drop it, it doesn't really evolve.
That being said, I enjoyed the heck out of it. Of course I think it could be improved (grandma's ending wasn't deserved, last two eps felt rushed, and tbh, I am really not a fan of MGY's acting overall) but it didn't make me lose my interest for one second! I really loved the humor and think that it's way above kdrama average (no cringy side characters, thank Lord...), CHW really shines and gives his all, making his character super likeable but relatable at the same time, FL's family is super cute as well (her father is just a sweetheart! Not talked about enough!). I usually prefer my adult kdrama romance to be more on the sizzling side, but here it's cute and it works and I'm okay with it. And it really resonates with me how the ML maybe enjoys his hobbies in secret, but is not ashamed of them at all. I struggled my whole life with the fact that none of my friends enjoy what I like and that I'm maybe too invested in imaginary characters and plots, so it's really refreshing to see that you can just be yourself in this regard and it's not anything to be ashamed about.
Overall, a real surprise for me this season. It just works. Recommend it if you liked Her Private Life (for the fangirl/fanboy plot) and Shitting Stars (the same director, and similar feel of a competent, but safe kromcom).
Lighthearted dramas can be good but can be bad. Why can't people give their opinion if they think it's bad. Are…
But who are we to say that they can't love those "basic" dramas and have to love your so-called "conventionally good" dramas? It's all their opinion. I loved My Dearest Nemesis this season, but UHS really tired me out, which is weird cause initially I was sure it would be the other way around. Everybody has different standards for different shows and that's why we have comment section, to share our different opinions. Ratings are and will be bullshit anyway.
some of yall in comments don't know how to enjoy fun lil lighthearted drama not everything has to be serious lord

I see that MBC went all in for romcoms/melos this year... I can't say that I'm excited, neither Motel California nor Undercover High School did it for me this year
I can't, what a sophisticated scheme to frame someone for corruption - put an envelope with cash in their office in NIS 🤣 yeah, that would be my first choice after receiving corrupted money, sure
I'd say if you like first two episodes, you will like the whole drama, but if not, don't bother. I think it's a very well done drama for what it is. The leads are consistent, have a character arc and grow throughout the show. I also love the comedy. But some people are tired with the cliches and don't feel the chemistry - so it really depends. For me, I love MDN, but I think Undercover High School is really mid in its humor, story and characters. But some people might say sth completely different 😅 so you will not know unless you try yourself
