"he will also reportedly return to the new season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2." - repordedly? Who reported it? Cause I haven't seen no official announcement for the past 2 years. Stop with the misinformation.
SIL deserved some sort of punishment. Even MIL got a little redemption scene, however short, but not that bitchy…
The FIL just wanted to catch her brother, who was trusted with a secret document from the last king, unfavourable to FIL. FIL hoped that the brother will visit his sister, and that ended up happening and the brother was killed.

Imo, they wanted to make her look more mature than him. She has lived through a lot. Imo, if they casted 32 yo actress and 25 yo actor, the age difference wouldn't be visible... And maybe they wanted to cast these specific 2 actors no matter the age - they are just beyond brilliant in their roles. The show seems to be made for Honey Lee. Also, if they made her 40 in Joseon, she would have been a widow for like 25 years, that's beyond believable. And he at 29 would probably be married. Overall, I have no problem with the age gap, but to me, Honey Lee def looks younger than her age.

1. She finds out at the end of ep 11. 2. Yes the FIL is the main villain. 3. She doesn't get revenge on her MIL, but MIL apologizes. Many viewers say this was pretty unsatisfying, but it fits FL's character imo.

1. Father in law is bad, and he was the one who ordered the murder of FL' s brother (yeah he's dead). 2. Her husband is actually alive - he run away from home 15 years ago cause his father didn't approve his marriage with a foreigner. He comes back (without any reason really), and in the end his marriage with FL was nullified (the husband wasn't even at the wedding, and later his death was staged by his father). So in the end FL free. 3. The ML finds out pretty early on, like 3-4 th episode? He suspects it from like ep 2. And she finds out that he knows around ep 6-7 -ish, don't remember exactly.
Absolutely wild to me that ppl are mad that Jian wasn't acting like a perfectly trained cold-blooded mercenary…
Also looking at the show premise " Jian will be forced to revisit some of the bizarre training her uncle gave her throughout her formative years" - we got none of that. A bit of shooting, the jumping scene in ep 1. And that's it, she learnt ju jitsu on her own, not because of her uncle. I was waiting for more and it never came. Maybe marketing was an issue too.

For a starter, in all of the most recent comments I read here, everyone is politely stating their criticism. No one is saying anything insulting or hateful. Criticism does not equal hate. Secondly, I get that she's in a strange and terrifying situation. But as a watcher, I don't enjoy watching 8 episodes of her making all the wrong decisions every single time. She learnt nothing. The thing is, they showed us that she was pretty badass as a child. And she had pretty interesting moments throughout the series - her beating the toilet peeker, learning how to fight, etc. But there is no real character development for her, and dare I say, she's even degrading. She has nothing going for her for me to be interested. I don't want only badass FLs who don't have emotions and are invincible, basically typical male characters in female skin. But I want an interesting character, she can be flawed (even should be). And Jian was becoming less and less interesting to me throughout the series.
I started watching dramas only in 2019, and am surprised I watched so many from 2015 and didn't even realize.…
As a relative newcomer to kdramas (2019/2020) in my eyes it's kinda like there are two kdrama eras: pre ca. 2016-2017 and after. I'm sure that watchers with longer experience could point out more eras, but to me, most of those pre 2016 feel archaic and I don't try them often. It's really weird cause it's only 8 years ago. With anime or western tv series I don't feel there is such a harsh line in time with a big change in trends/quality, and if there is - it's not that recent, but more like somewhere in 2000s. Very interesting
1. There was an old man in the Left Minister's household that would give a second look to Yeo Hwa. Who is he?2.…
1. I think he was helping Secretary of Defense and that he was the one who brought the book with the letter to YH. I don't think we know more about him tho. 2. I think that was the book with the letter.
It is pretty ridiculous but that seems to be trending a lot lately. You will see a lot of action shows that do…
Oh how I hate it. As if there was no way to make an enjoyable, light show with good writing. Or at least something to make up for mediocre writing. I see it more and more on MLD, that people are just good with mediocrity and when anyone tries to criticize sth, they get shot down with the "turn your brain off" argument. Like it's ok that you enjoyed sth, I like a few mediocre dramas too, but man is the discussion on MDL getting harder and harder.
Also I feel that overall, Disney+ dramas all have the same tone (didn't watch Vigilante yet, dropped Worst of Evil) and all of them are kinda... above average, nice production value, but nothing spectacular? Moving was the closest to perfection but the flashbacks and meh ending left me unsatisfied. Weird tho how all 4 dramas are dark and gloomy and "realistic" (compared to especially kromcoms). Maybe they think that this is what international public wants? But it's not doing it for me... Not like netflix is any better, with their overly sweet romcoms mostly. But at least the range of shows on netflix is broader..
Great premise, actors, music, atmosphere. But I agree with the comments that the FL just didn't deliver. I wouldn't have minded that the story is simple/same-old-same-old, but the FL was just... meh. Complicating every situation, not very skilled at fighting, not very bright either... I mean her behaviour is realistic, I probably wouldn't behave any different, but I'm not watching thrillers for realism. She was honestly more of a badass when she was a child. And I get that not every character has to be a badass, but the has literally zero going for her. She was constantly being saved by everyone. Some of it was due to her uncle not preparing her at all - but based on the first episodes, I thought he did! Also, the way that she was left out of the last episodes (which focused on her uncle) made her even more forgettable. It's a shame honestly. Made me even more aware of all the plotholes (why didn't Brother lock the house from the beginning and let her in through the secret entrance)...
I'm sorry, what? I just came from AvenueX video and they are shooting spinoff drama on Sang Yan's story WITHOUT VICTOR MA? He would be the only reason why I'd watch it. Smh.
A thing that doesn't get mentioned enough - Knight Flower beat Red Sleeve's record of highest MBC fri-sat drama WITH ONLY 12 EPISODES! Red Sleeve had 17, so like 2 weeks of airtime more? I don't wish to compare, but it's such an accomplishment, but it didn't even make an article on MDL... Crazy how much under the radar this drama went for international audience. But thanks to that, this comment section has been super nice and cozy, even if someone comments that they didn't enjoy the show as much as others, we can just agree that we have different tastes. And no one is getting defensive about others' criticism, we can just discuss it instead of calling it hate.
Although I'm not much of a rewatcher, cause there are so many new series to discover, I feel that this series will become my staple for rewatching in the future. So good I could praise it whole day long, but I have to go back to reality unfortunately 😆
I'm at my rewatch and one scene grabbed my attention: in ep 9, SJ tries to get to room where YH is, in search of Grand Merchant, but she resists. Ultimately SH is the one who enters. This is reminiscent of the scene in earlier episodes, when she hid in the closet and SH makes her fall out of it after a struggle. I know it's played mainly for comedic purposes, but I just love that SH is always the only man who manages to open the door to her (heart), first by force and then without❤️ (sorry for my rumbling, I'm overanalysing every scene rn)
