Wow, for BL this is really good, my second favourite kbl after semantic error. No major drama and angst. The pace was kinda fast, but what can you expect from such short episodes. Everything was pretty realistic and down to earth, compared to other BLs. No major coincidences or anything like that. The chemistry was also so good. Highly recommend.
Dunno how can anybody find the sex scene inappropriate. It's done quite nicely, and gives a bit of character development to both the characters at that. Believe me, I'm not a fan of multiple sad, grey sex scenes in a movie (there are a lot of them in polish movies), but can we please stop pretend that sex isn't a completely normal part of an adult's life.
Don't even get me started on people who come on page called KILL Bok Soon and complain about violence XD
This show is trying. It's trying REALLY hard. Too hard for me. As a Mr. Queen superfan, I find that even though that show was comedic, it had super serious dramatic parts. They for the most part weren't interrupted by comedy. And the actors pulled it off super well.
Whereas here, I feel like every time a dramatic plot kicks in, the female lead just has to insert a joke. The whole ML's crying over his wife plot is turned into a joke multiple times. Damn, the ML overall is not treated seriously even once. Don't even get me started on the supporting cast, every single plot there is skippable, not funny to me at all.
I get the appeal it might have for the general audience, it's not hard to watch. But for me even the romance isn't particularly engaging, as 1. it's based on a lie for a loong time, a thing I hate the most; 2. it just comes and goes, for no particular reason, you can have a super tense episode and then in the next one the characters totally forget that there was sth going on between them - so in the end I was confused why they even like each other at all.
Their happy ending took such a long time to come true, but I also enjoyed the fact that they worked out their…
Yes, sometimes when a romcom ends I'm like - the leads are so differens from one another, how will they cope and work through the actual hardships? But here almost every major difference between them is adressed and resolved. I feel that they truly will be together till the end.
the recording couldn't be exposed because Yeon Jin didn't actually kill Myeong Oh. The assistant administered…
The recording stopped the moment Yeon Jin flooded Myeong Oh's phone, so it wouldn't lead to the assistant anyway. They did the autopsy and checked the father? Sorry but could you lead me to exact timestamp? Cause from what I can recall, the main leads knew he wasn't the father but it was from Jae Joon's reaction, I don't remember anyone talking that the autopsy happened..
The one thing I live the most about this drama is that in most cases it doesn't just forget character's mistakes. Like, Zisheng asks NN to marry him very abruptly, in front of everybody and she agrees, and it isn't just like a fairytale dream for them from that point onwards. On the first watch I thought that it's kinda bizarre for her to agree and that the writers will try to convince us that she loved him all along and she just needed to understand it through a flashback. But no, they argue, she holds a grudge for a long time, and even when she starts to develop her feelings, it's still an uphill battle. One of the best love stories ever, cause it just doesn't leave us with a happy ever after, it actually shows us the couple working out their differences for a long, and I mean long, time before they finally get a happy ending.
The autopsy was not mentioned as the lighter and skin under nails of the second corpse, proved her involvement…
Yeah I know that they weren't used, for various reasons. My point is that when you have so many evidence that the FL could use for her revenge, the show lacks suspense. You're not at the edge of your seat wondering if she'll complete the revenge till the very end, you already know she has enough to bury Yeon Jin by like ep 14
After giving it some thought, I think the last 2 episodes lacked suspense because the FL just had too much on Yeon Jin. There wasn't like a chase for a piece of conclusive evidence, cause they already had enough by that time. So much that even some things weren't used! - Autopsy on So Hee's body was never mentioned - The FL didn't have to testify on her own experience at all (and neither did Yeon Jin's assistant, but that is even more understandable lol) - Yeon Jin's handbag chain that they even returned to her - The recording of Myeong Oh and Yeon Jin (sure, the FL didn't get it, but it was something that was out there) - Ofc the name tag, but it was explained how it couldn't be used
People who said it was terrible have a fundamental bias against seeing younger men with older women. Because in…
Actually in a lot of the comments I see people mention that they loved LDH in 18 Again and have nothing against noona romances. Id be the first one to point out a bias, and maybe some people are like that, but for me they just had no chemistry
It's not perfect, especially ep16 could be better, and the romance didn't do it for me, but still the best revenge kdrama for me. I feel like with a second watch I'd notice more plotholes, but for now I feel like most of the plots were connected pretty well.
Also an unpopular opinion - I know that the FL was supposed to have no emotions and dead eyes and SHK delivered, but I still can't get it out of my mind that a different, better actress could have made the show even more spectacular.
Can someone suggest me other revenge drama with satisfied ending (not like weak hero) and no forced romance.
Most are pretty mid. I guess my favourites with revenge plot, but maybe not in the center, are sky castle, penthouse s1-2, and the untamed is kinda there also haha
Don't get me wrong, I def didn't enjoy the wait, but I feel that splitting it in half really made the drama way more hyped. I feel like if this was released all at once, we would have forgotten it already. It is also a perfect drama to split, nobody would have waited so long for a romcom. So I kinda understand Netflix this time
