The OST album makes me want to cry. I was tearing up in the car.

I noticed that Mark Chao hasn't really done any romantic dramas since TMOPB.

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE FEATHER?! WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT. What's so special about that white duck-looking bird at the end?

Tilan's maids were dumb and obvious, and Tilan is way too trusting and nice. Moral of the story: don't be nice and too trusting.

She married her master for real. The emperor doesn't ever fall in love with her. That's his best friend's girl, after all and he knows that. She marries the emperor in name to protect her life, but continues her relationship with FJM. Eventually, she and FJM leave the palace together...

It's both a sad and happy ending.

Most of them really aren't my cup of tea, otherwise, I wouldn't subject myself to a life of reading English subtitles. 😂

Nope, I'm the same and I have no one in my life who's like me, so I feel like I'm spiraling.

I thought this way at first, but I found myself falling in love with his acting decisions towards the second half of the drama. Every actor brings his own interpretation of a character to a role. William is a very good actor, no doubt. Especially, because he's such an expressive human being and his character has literally three expressions. It's difficult to have facial control like the amount that William has in this project.

Because his eyes were so dead in the first half of the show, the little moments where you SAW the emotion and his stoic expression crumble, were so much more special. We were deprived of the expressions so that when we got them, we cherished them so much more. Similar to the romantic interactions between the main leads.

I'll add:

1. Mu De Qing punching the Emperor lol
2. Mama Ye telling FangZhu to eat oysters
3. FangZhu telling Haishi he loves her
4. Anytime Haishi walked into the throne room
5. Haishi walking in on FangZhu treating his wounds and being flustered

I didn't like The Long Ballad. I dropped it at episode 9. I'll check out Maiden Holmes. Luoyang looks STUNNING, but I need to be HAPPY and recuperate.
