I had to go through my list (and your list to see what you haven't watched!) and think really hard about the endings each drama had. I listed some of my favorites:
More lighthearted: -General's Lady - New Life Begins
Long-ish, more angst: -The Long Ballad -Love Like the Galaxy
Really long but "masterpieces": -Story of Yanxi Palace (harem drama) - The Story of Ming Lan (also very long)
I can also recommend some Wuxias and Xianxias. They have martial arts and magic. LGEF is a Xuanhuan--time-traveling and magic etc.
Random thoughts I have related to this drama and other cute things because I miss watching it:
- I am still appalled (in a good way) by the fact that LGEF's official Douyin account has 6.3mil followers...and the count is still steadily rising. The drama account with the second most followers is Joy of Life...with 3mil followers.
- The number of Chinese netizens who claim to be "former haters" are saying online that they have been 'captured' by the drama and the leads. Not only did Miaomiao capture Ziqi's heart, she also captured the hearts of some of YXS's haters LOL. (but if you're hating on YSX, you really need to find something better to do.)
- Miaomiao's "thank you, Mu Sheng'er" (when she was eating the bunny apple slices) became so popular that it became a meme/Loopy sticker and there are also Loopy figurines of her now. And they are so darn cute.
- And I can't get over the fact that Ding Yuxi immediately went to go make Yu Shuxin a perler bead Miaomiao after he recently went to the hospital for a fever. He is so caring towards all of his friends.
Not sure if it's a love story, but we know for sure it's going to be an adventure on an island with the four of them. The photos look super cute, though!
For those who might be unaware of this, a 6 episode show, "The Shining Stars" (闪耀的恒星) will air on the 22nd which is basically just a story of a three day long trip involving the four main characters. The description says that Ding Yuxi, Zhu Xudan and Yang Shize take on the identities of three people who "reverse traveled" to the modern world and met Yu Shuxin at the island. They also have to fulfill some demands of the "system".

Just a guess that I’ve read online because we haven’t heard anything official about this but apparently Ziqi and Miaomiao aren’t adults yet. So perhaps censorship issues but still very disappointing. If that’s the case should’ve just clarified that they’re of age or something. 😕😕😕
Life feels so empty after finishing this drama. I've been feeding myself with the recent photoshoot to try to fill this empty void...the official photos are BREATHTAKING 🥹🥹🥹 I love all of them but there's this photo with just Miaomiao and Ziqi's ribbons on a wedding bed--actually amazing.

I agree! I definitely feel like the story between the leads deserved a stronger and more straightforward closure, but it is what it is, I guess. I commend their efforts to include so many small details across the drama
- In the last episode, the name of young Fu Zhou on his hospital sheet is actually Xia Ziqi. So there’s really only been one person who’s love Miaomiao: Ziqi. I read a lot of doubts from viewers about the identity connection between Fu Zhou and Ziqi, but this little detail on the sheet (that was on the screen for literally a second) cements the fact that it was Ziqi who has loved Miaomiao all along.
-Ding Yuxi has a perfectly fine “Beijing” accent, so why was he dubbed? This is a little easter egg at the very end of the drama, where the audience realizes that the drama used DYX’s real voice in his book confession to Miaomiao. It was brilliant.
- And here is something I saw on Douyin with 50k likes: Mu Sheng’s first appearance in episode 1 was accompanied by this lyric: “In this uncertain world, the destined leads are announced, and I am the only one who can see the progress bar.” Ziqi’s progress bar wasn’t how his affection towards Miaomiao went from 0 to 100%, but rather a progress bar that showed the reclamation of this love for her.
-Additionally, there never was a Ziqi in the original novel that he wrote. We see in the scenes of the “original novel” that Mu Yao only calls him by his name “A’Sheng”. Even though Mu Yao was the person Ziqi was closest to, she only called him A’Sheng. This is because there wasn’t a Ziqi then. It was Miaomiao’s arrival into the world that caused Ziqi to also take on the role of Mu Sheng in the drama.
-In the first episode, it seemed like Mu Sheng was able to hear Miaomiao’s thoughts. Because of her proximity to Mu Sheng, the Ziqi inside of him was able to slowly wake up and regain his memories. In episode 29, Miaomiao said, “Madam Liu once said that the Memory Forgetting Spell weakens when the person you love is near.” Obviously, the person that Ziqi loves is Miaomiao, and the first time he regains (part of) his memories is in Episode 1. In Episode 26, Ji Yue Lang Jun said, “Life is like a dream, only one person between you and him can awake.” At the end, the kid and teenager Ziqi disappear, leaving the “half-demon” Ziqi to awake after his surgery and rewrite the ending.
-Miaomiao forgot about everything that happened in this world UNTIL Ziqi calls her name at the very end, and the memories resurface. Miaomiao is called two times, and it seems like an echo. However, if you listen closely, you’ll realize that one is said by the dubbing actor, and another “Miaomiao” is said by Ding Yuxi.
-On Miaomiao’s Weibo, she mentioned that the yellow flowers she planted bloomed, which is why Ziqi loves to wear yellow.
-And Ziqi is in Miaomiao’s reflection at the end, LOL.
