Also she grossly misunderstood and miscalculated her family. Like HSung may have wanted to save him too maybe but gremlin was like: LET HIM DIE, IT IS WHAT THIS ASSHOLE DESERVES. HD was also "This is no father, there is more to being a parent than birthing/dna, idgaf about him. NO ONE SHOULD GIVE HIM ANYTHING. Tbf HJ is left in the dark due to his exam but he would surely give him the finger as well and let him rot. It is just HS with her misunderstood savior complex who thinks this bastard needs to live *facepalm* As if this dude would ever apologize or be thankful to them, he just does not caaaaare but HS does not see it and thinks he needs to be saved so her mother can be happy lololol, brainrot. Brainrot brought on by her own trauma perhaps, but martyr brainrot nonetheless. Total absence of logic
It's still one of the better family dramas and has had a great track record from eps 25 with great leads till…
Yeah and that is fine and valid... but not four/two episodes before the end. It really is a big structural blunder, like have your overblown, out of the blue drama after all, whatever, but ffs have it EARLIER between the leads. This way It would have been ideal if we got this trash storyline over and done with before the resolution of the incident/murder thingie. Bc that would allowed for growth on HS part instead it just seemingly erasing all char development and open communication ever made, on her own and together with Taeho. And the whole murder mystery solution with the baddies being taken away would have made a perfect bit for the last episodes instead. But as it is now? Vast structural blunder in storytelling imo, bc it does not allow for the story to wind down with such a BIG thing thrown in there so close to the end, and hammers the reset button on its focal character and theme (independence, stop sacrificing herself) of the show which yikes.
It's still one of the better family dramas and has had a great track record from eps 25 with great leads till this weekend. It is just that the last two episodes should not have happened in any way or shape or form like they did, especially this late in the story. That subplot is something to tackle midway through where's enough time for consequences and growth to follow. Throwing it into the end when you're supposed to wrap up and wind down the plot is such a structural writing blunder I cannot even begin to fathom how the writer thought it to be a good idea, tbh. Bc it reverts and regresses so many themes and intentions they clearly had with the story and characters.
They had a mature relationship going on ..virgin of course...but still mature!!Why the need of the writers to…
This is a weekend drama hence the relationship is always very pure, so to speak, but yeah they had a healthy, mature relationship with good communication before these two crappy episodes of Hyoshim playing martyr who suffers on her own and can't neither form a straight sentence to explain what's really going on nor look him even in the eyes. Worse even, TH was totally aware of her lying to him, in front of the apartment. It showed in his body language (which was well done by Hajun here) but he let it slide, trusting she would come to him when she's ready, like in other times. Thing is she didn't which is the worst part of it all. He'd had understood given how he's lost his parents & would do the same to save them, but she never gave him any chance to ðŸ˜
I plan to continue watching from episode 41, but I went ahead and spoiled myself with episodes 47 and 48 watching…
No i haven't but i need time off from family dramas for several weeks at least. I think it is on my list tho (it is a daily right?) Gonna focus on more regular length dramas first either way.
As said i can rec to you From Now On Showtime which is easy breezy for the most part and tearjerker with cute leads "may i help you" Both are fantasy genre tho, so quite different from this one here and i saw they aren't on your list yet heh.
After today, i have to formally apologize to episode 22, bc i called it the worst episode of LYOL just days ago, when this is not any longer the case. So I am sorry LOYL episode 22. I was wrong. You are still shit, but not as shit as episode 49, by far <3 😂

Oh i see. Given i only skipped thru this shitty eps today i missed that. However it makes a lot of sense then (in the bounds of the inane route taken now lol) to do that small time skip. Just hope it won't be spent with that idiot being absent then in that time, abandoning everyone, Oh Yeondoo style.💀

No prob, hope you enjoy it then :) I for my part am exhausted of and need a break from family dramas after this one has ended next week. The beauty one feels too much like THRC in messiness for my liking.
fair warning tho it is from the YLAG writer, so expect a lot of screechy overblown makjang and hysterical mothers even worse than here since ML's mom from THRC is onboard again for another howler monkey round as FL's mother this time 💀

My TRHC ptsd is flaring up, ngl. Yeondoo indeed possessed Hyoshim, including vanishing apparently. What an utter and complete bullshit. Guess i need to lower my ratings for it more lmao.

sigh, same friend, same. Loved it since eps 25 with their relationship going strong, but now the writer dumped this big fat pile of shit in front of all of us that sours me on the show and couple quite a bit. Again it is FL being a sacrificial idiot while ML tries his best to keep everything together. Guess it is kdrama tradition to stink up the ending but still uuuuuurgh. Will watch next week for closure but with much less enthusiasm than ever before. Think i need to watch something else to wash the bad taste out of my mouth tbh.

well the episode clearly shows her being rolled into the surgery room so this isn't the case sadly, but what would make it worse is her actually vanishing for a year or so next week, abandoning TH, yeondoo style. Since she is shown to have gone "missing" and neither her fam nor TH can reach her via phone in the preview. This is where i am actually hoping the preview to be misleading. Because hope springs eternal i guess 🤡

this would have actually made much more sense structurally and allow for growth on HS' own but yeah here we are, ugh. btw did you actually get to know what really happened in the incident or not yet?

Yeah agree. Taeho is such a sweet man, he deserves better than this. But just as i wrote this above post, i saw in the subbed version that he actually plans to move abroad to england with her post marriage, bc she is studying SM and this would be the best place for it as they are the "leading market" and because he recognized that some time away from their families would be needed & good for their relationship. Not sure if this is the route they will take since it came all before her lying to him & going thru w the donation surgery w/o telling him (or anyone in her fam) and afterwards vanished looks like? (She is fully pulling a yeondoo omg)

HS needs therapy tbh, she is caught in an extreme cycle of helper syndrome and self-sacrifice that she never truly broke free from. I guess living your live the whole time like this can't be undone by months of love and patience, it needs more than that but kdrama won't go there ofc. And after these eps i actually think that a breakup would have actually made sense to shake her out of that lethargy or let her sink into it bc she seems way too comfortable in that sacrifice role to suffer on her own. Because she seems to count on Taeho always being around and someone to fall back onto to, when she can remembers he exists which when it comes to her family is really not the case much yikes. I just feel sorry for him bc unless he moves away with her, she will never have a healthy distance to her family and their problems and he will always be put on the backburner by his then wife. I thought she would learn that or was in the process to be not such a dumbass with boundaries, but the last two eps proved me wrong, sigh.
