Haha I'm amazed how fast you progressed in watching this show. If you keep it up you can actually see their wedding when it airs 😁😂

In eps 24. Hyoshim agrees to dating him, they go out for lunch and he spoils her like a princess 😁 for a bit, but then something happens that rattles her so she basically calls quit on dating on the same day. They have a confrontation about it tho and then don't see each other for a week (passage of time is always funky in this show lol) where she misses him and basically realizes her feelings and how he's helped her after having another fight with her gremlin mom (in eps 25) You'll see. At least this enables TH to draw define lines in the sand toward TM regarding her before that.

I tried my best to counter comment but the Taemin wives where many there, for some weird reason. Tall privilege is real I guess.

Oh I get that 😂 You do get a small dating phase of them in eps 24 but ofc TM ruins it all (indirectly) for them in painting a target on HS' back 🙄 (this is why I'm saying they are only committing to each other at the end of eps 25, not earlier)

Oh you have reached the worst episode then. I haaaaaated that one eps with my whole being bc of the writer giving her LT bs the final push here and turned HS into a dumb puppet she's making dance for it. Thankfully it's really the last nonsense of it to happen, bc after this she's focusing on TH & HS only. There's a really nice scene coming up between them which makes clear where her attraction lies and how differently both men approach her. TH has the Motto 'consent is sexy' bc ofc he has 😎

For me episode 22 (or 23?) is still the worst one in the whole show. Infuriating traaaaaaash (outside of the few lead scenes)

Oh I expect TM to at least take a sabbatical tbh but would not be surprised if he takes a longer time off from everything. Dude has to rearrange his whole life after everything that happened, so it makes sense. Hope it's California and he runs into his wifey tho 😁

It's the beginning of eps 19 I think, when HS comes to this icky dude at the Han river. It pretty much impacts her for the full episode and that is noticeable, especially with her lashing out on TH bc he feels more safe to do so, and was hitting a nerve on top of that. She regrets it not much later tho but it causes TH to step back a little to let her breathe.

I've been re watching those episodes and it very obvious that HS is reeling with that assault on her and for the remaining episode tries to regain control. Which resulted in her being so harsh to Taeho. Bc he felt like a safe person to her to lash out on whereas TM felt untouchable with the vast power imbalance between them & his refusal to apologize for it as she demanded only showcased that more. However it's also that HS regretted having told TH to 'stop hitting on her' or rather having lashed out on him not much later, which is a detail I'd already forgotten about. And she's all confused and 'no not like this' when he keeps it to business then in the next episode 😂 It's in the details here, but once you notice them you see how much she is crushing on Taeho. 😁 It's just her denying herself that bc he's a client and at that point of the show her gym job is still paramount to everything.

I would not advise to skip the full first 22 episodes or so bc you miss so much of the leads relationship progress, their characterization and motivations/general bg. I would rather advice to fully skip HS' scenes with SML as those add nothing to the story. You can also skip a lot of the villa resident and THee & Hyodo scenes in the first 25 eps bc they are just boring and dumb for the most part. I'd watch most of the baddies scenes tho as it belongs to the main story & conflict as much as deadbeat's dad absence does to HS' fam.

That is good to know. You got me rewatching the scenes of the leads in the first 15 episodes or so through this discussion and I'm giggling at how obvious to everyone but herself Hyoshim is with her attraction to Taeho 😁(It's easy to miss if you don't look for the subtle details of Uee's acting) But yeah she's definitely living in denial land due to him being her client and all. 😂

Also dear God, with the character development he later on had, however late, I forgot what an entitled delulu prick Taemin has been, especially towards HS 💀

TM is much less a problem due to its extreme one-sidedness than HS' horribly fam, honestly. They need a long time to understand how badly they have been treating her. The show also has a slow mid-section from around eps 15-25, where it imo is best to just focus on the scenes of the lead and ffw a lot otherwise (depending on which characters/arcs you also like atp, of course) But as KavinToronto said, TH is the key to her eventually living her own life and moving out, with his support along the way.

yeah they whip those out too, but afaik mbc does more of these revenge, cheating spouse type than kbs. Then again, i only tried to watch the current daily "Unpredictable Family" and the most unpredictable in there was indeed how it had absolutey nothing of its promised "light/laidback, fun & light-hearted, wild & comedic" content but instead derailed like a trainwreck into nonsensical drama w an obsessive SFL; a thirty (or more) episode break up of the leads (lmao) and families screeching at each other. Nothing lighthearted here, at all. Hence i dropped at eps 50 of 133 (or so) and ran away like HS' father 🙃

Yeah, she tells and shows to be visible uncomfortable with/around him, but this is something i blame on the writer nim as she is pushing this nonsensical "love triangle" pretty hard and is not giving FL the possibility to back out despite her being uncomfortable af.

But also, FL's whole shtick is her having trouble to say no when asked to do something and trouble with asserting her boundaries (esp in the beginning) and TM repeatedly ignoring her thoughts/feelings/words due to being very "what about meeeee" and low emotional intelligence does not help matters here. So you will have scenes where she is going along with him, just to be polite to this high-paying member of her gym, and also why their power dynamic is very imbalanced. Hence i think this is why she can't be outright refuse, bc it could cost her her job were he to complain about her to her boss. Ofc this is something that TM never ever considered, notice or cares for, as off into delulu land he is 💀 I guess we can give credit to the writer for showcasing how utterly mismatched they are tho? 🤣

Also don't forget that this is a (50 eps) family drama after all, aka situations are played up by design/sometimes don't make the most sense for characters bc there is a plot the writer has to tell. While the story is centered on the leads & there messy families (TH's family is messy in a rich way), there are also a lot of side-arcs and chars getting their limelight. The whole LT is sadly one of them for a while. It's best to just watch (and skip when needed) instead to worry too much as it will all turn out well in the end.

Yeeeeah he is the proof that delulu is not the solulu, tbh 🙃 You honestly miss nothing but misplaced entitlement with his scenes with HS, so it is better to skip tbh. Especially with the knowledge of how Hyoshim is not and never will be liking him romantically ;) You can watch TM's scenes w/o HS in it, as it often pertains to the main plot in some way. He's very standoffish to TH too tho ever since he saw them train together, as , gasp, she is doing as PT, lol. Bad cousin all around.

Yeeees their dynamic is so fun from the get go, even when TH is a giant brat still, she is never backing down and gives him her piece of mind in turn. I love it. Lots of tension in their bickering already too :D

It's Kang Taemin, Taeho's errr,,,, cousin. He is the only other main role outside the leads and thus has a significant role outside of the love "triangle" bs later on regarding the main story of the accident mystery, but he stays annoying to infuriating with his full on r/niceguy entitlement delusion over FL because "he saw/knew her first" for a long while, alas 🙄 And he sure loves the sound of his own voice as he keeps talking AT Hyoshim, not with her, like Taeho does.

Personally i find their romance one of the most rewarding one i have seen in kdrama in general. Imo it is so well done bc both of them are mature people and treat each other with respect, once they have passed the stage of bickering and initial animosity. There is still banter and teasing to be had of course, increasingly so the more comfortable they get to be with each other. Very supportive and warm/soft too. So yeah SML Taemin never stood a chance, even if the writer attempts to make you believe so for far too long, lmao. (Thankfully this is forgotten about as soon the leads get together)

Also If you want a ML who tickles FL's boundaries to get her out of her shell but without ever crossing them, lemme introduce Kang Taeho to you. Because this man is really made out of 50% blood and 50% cheeky flirt 😂

oh yeah, mbc's dailies are very much your typical off the wall soap betrayal, cheating revenge dramas whereas kbs dailies are more focused on family etc and a lot more tame 😂

So i am not surprised to hear that description of her role tbh 😂
