Ep 4 already showed it but damn now ep 14 confirms that they do know how to kiss.
It was never in question bc the one kiss before was supposed to be awkward and stilted.

You typed TM instead of TH, but it happens to the best of us😁 And no he doesn't really intent to go abroad…
Haha, glad you liked, but basically she is just a tool (haha) used by the writer to stall the leads' wedding until the murder plot is wrapped up and all baddies punished. And it would be kinda awkward to have a wedding now admittedly, with everything still up in the air πŸ˜‚ But big bro tells TH to hurry to get married and be happy while he wraps up everything, so next weekend we finally see the end of the main plot and lots of pos' inhabiting the prison, going forward 😁 So i am not surprised we have a disapproving parent subplot and not only bc it is standard to include it in basically every weekender but also bc it buys the writer time to clean up on almost all story aisles :D I think i could also accept it more when the gremlin's reasoning were not as shit as it is. Her marriage failed so HS' is gonna get left behind by Taeho too later on, bc he has money. and thus will betray her. WUT? Make it make sense. Ugh.

And Hyoshim isn't sitting back in all this as it seems to be, she's had a huge fight with her gremlin mother after she told her to hold off on the wedding. We were just not privy to it, as it happened offscreen. They probably filmed that scene but then found the scene too long maybe, so they cut it out. However she tells TH about it the next day. So there is that. And preview also shows that gremlin is softening up on TH next weekend too, bc this is a common weekender trope too. Winning over the disapproving parent who then become their son/daughter in law's biggest stans lol. So it is only a matter of time. We just gotta trust in TH's puppy powers and sincerity 😁

It just wouldn't be a proper kdrama of this sort without the WTOD making at least 1 appearance :)
Haha, yeah but her being inconsistent is more realistic as she is a teenager after all 😁

She was an adult at the time, old enough to drink herself into an hangover and thus old enough to know to not ummm cover up murder when you hear about it, maybe? And she did so just bc she didn't want to "think of her parents as murderer" All the options and she chose ignorance and selfishness. The frikkin gall of this pos.

The incident is supposed to have happened 5 yrs ago in 2018, when TH was around thirty yrs old (since he said he was orphaned in his thirties and he is now 36), but the writer keep jumping between 2018/2019 in some scenes. It is around that time tho, not 9 yrs ago ;)

Is this drama worth watching?
Yes, give it a chance. I really adore this family drama, all things considered. It is competently written and well structured. I think the biggest flaw it has is its very slooooow first half (after the starting 15 eps or so), but ever since eps 25 where the leads start dating the writing and pacing has been great and the plot is moving well. Of course you have your usual tropes of a weekender with annoying/toxic characters that require your patience or ffw button, screechy, frustrating parts, the chaebol power struggle, a delulu sml who doesn't accept a rejection for way too long, and some less engaging subplots. But the main couple is, imo, one of the best i have seen in a weekender ever, with the way their relationship develops from bickering dislike to being e/o support system, loving and trusting each other. Uee and Hajun are so cute and natural with each other onscreen too. They have an effortless chemistry with lots and lots of (warm) hugs included and no break up nonsense once they are truly together and committed. (good very brief example of their fun/natural chemistry is the scene and source of my avatar here: https://twitter.com/sundogsnrainbow/status/1753770942042423709

I am such a sucker for the trope/couple of two people in a story finding each other at the most unlikely time and ways and support each other at their lowest point while becoming each other's family and source of strength/support and happiness. if done well and here it is. It definitely is, and in a healthy, mature manner, at that πŸ₯°πŸ₯Ή

50 eps always are a big time investment, but you can speed up the other parts and just focus on the leads... that is what i have been doing till halfway through where everything else finally picked up too :)

We actually crossed off every weekender trope from the bingo card in LYOLπŸ˜‚

ML orphaned and lonely but rich and kind
FL burdened with duties, coming from a simple bg, is also hardworking and kind
Obsessive SML who doesn't take no for an answer
Obsessive SFL who does not take no for an answer
Evil family member plotting (designated villain)
Chaebol power struggle
Rich fam vs "poor" family
Birth secrets (one is a dupe tho)
DNA testing
White Truck Of Death
Disapproving Parent
Terminal Illness (TH&TM's mother had cancer)
Unexpected Pregnancy
Childhood Trauma (MH's abuse toward her sons)
Childhood Trauma being used as an excuse for life to become a rotten/useless human being
Crucial information being overheard by a character but kept secret for selfish reasons

Or in short BIIIIIIIIIIINGO DING DING πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

Haha i actually assumed you were writing this after watching the episode bc it was dead on. I swear playing the victim and never taking responsibility for their own (in)actions is a heritage of this messy family, except Taeho. As lonely as his life was he really dodged a bullet with being far away from these assholes. And he had all reason to fall into the same "poor me" mentality but difference to all the others in that fam is that he actively chose not to and instead chose to make the best out of his situation..

And that sets him vastly apart from these assholes who think turning on the waterwork and seeking pity will help them to escape culpability for their actions this way (with TM having broken free from his chains of blind obedience, i have to include him with TH now too, but he was caught in that victim mentality for 40 yrs too as we have seen for 30+ eps)

But I digressed. Point is... Taehee is disgusting, a selfish, opportunistic rat who only now is jumping off the sinking ship since mommy dearest is cooked. Fully her mother's daughter, indeed. There is NO excuse for her silence for years, but i fear she will be forgiven because "she was afraid" bohooohooo poor pissbaby. Fffffffff off.

It's six episodes since we get a bonus episode :) From the side characters i like Kkeut Soon most now because…
Heh fair enough :D Oddly for me it is exactly the other way around as KS halmeoni annoyed me a lot in the first half but she grew on me with her steadfast support for HS and becoming the captain of the Taehshim ship. She is adorable and hardworking at her age, basically running the cafe instead of the lazy ass toddler. And now has a potential love interest, even, with the gym member grandpa haha.

Yes a full episode so, as you guessed, evens out the eps to a full weekend instead of ending awkwardly on a saturday. I hope the writer uses it well for a satisfying epilogue for the characters (can we have a jeju island honeymoon?) and others fuck off out of my sight like THee, hopefully. I decided that i will completely skip any of her remaining scenes, bc the pity party she is throwing herself after covering up/keeping silent about a literal MURDER for years is full on disgusting. Can't stand her sight any second longer.

The mom still takes advantage of others and I can't stand her. Most of the time other people are taking care of…
You typed TM instead of TH, but it happens to the best of us😁 And no he doesn't really intent to go abroad again. When he said that he was reeling with the footage of his parents' last moments before their death. Hence his words toward HS were borne out of grief and not really serious. More like an easy way to escape all of the pain than to deal with it, but HS saw right through him there. Hence why she didn't stop asking him until he confessed the real reason for it. And he would never uproot her from her family when she does not want to, which she does not, so it is all a moot point anyway. And it is better and needed that TH faces his feelings and grief instead to escape/run away from it in order to be able to truly move on to the new chapter in his life as HS' husband and, later on, as the father of her child(ren).

As for the adult toddler, she still sees herself as the center of the universe, to no one's surprise. She just says no for the sake of saying no as it gives her power and control over both leads. She is vindictive and petty, begrudges her daughter a life of her choosing because the man she loves is not only rich but (emotionally) intelligent, kind and head over heels for HS. She is not only projecting like a cinema onto HS but also is very jealous, and would prefer it if HS would grow old alone like herself, only babysitting her nephews and nieces since her sons/ HS' brothers are very much allowed to live their lives, to marry and have kids, but not Hyoshim. Damned if she does, damned if she doesn't, really, and gremlins' apparent internalized misogyny and hypocrisy (double standards) irks me to no end.

(as for the prison thing, well mrs. "I read/looked it all (up) on the internet" should not just read articles of him being arrested, but also that he was framed. It was all reported about upon his release. But she has a clear bias against him, so she does not care that he is innocent. And that bias shows in the way she talks to and treats him in every interaction. She is super rude, playing the elder card as a gotcha and reason to talk to him like that. Again, it is a full on power trip, not genuine concern for her daughter, because lol she ain't an elder outside of age, but is a complete adult child instead that does not want to relinquish control over her toy, aka her daughter. She is disgusting and a controlling. emotionally manipulative narcissist, tbh,,, and yet still not as bad as Taehee or Myunghee tho)

I feel like I don’t care about the whole drama around the family, the accident, TaeHee…etc. I just want scenes…
Saaaaame. I could watch Uee's and Hajun's characters going on dates etc for another 50 hours, ngl. They are so so cute and good together <3 Also as chaotic and dysfunctional her fam is, Taeho enjoys to be around them so much, and gets along so well with everyone (gremlin with her stupid prejudice toward him aside) Like sure, his bg helps for Hyojun to be instantly friendlier to him than he maybe would have been otherwise, but they really were hitting it off, drinking and calling each other brothers in law already 🀭 Haju...err Taeho being such a personable puppy really helps a lot here too, of course 🀣

He really ain't your typical chaebol which i love a lot, and also how he made clear he works for a salary every month and wears his coat for a long time already. (ofc he has inherited the certainly not small amount of company shares from his father upon his passing, but details details 😁)

The white truck of death strikes again....The most shocking part of this week's episodes is that THee isn't Yeom's…
It's six episodes since we get a bonus episode :) From the side characters i like Kkeut Soon most now because she has always been supportive of HS and TH while openly criticizing the adult toddler and her temper tantrums. She deserves better than having a lying family who does not care for her so i am glad we get her storyline. Taeho should just adopt her as new grandma tbh, lol. The writer is really stalling their wedding but preview makes me hopeful that it all gets wrapped up next week so we can focus on the cuties taking the next step as spouses. JB needs to be jailed too tho. It's attempted murder what he's done. No matter how you twist and turn it, he is a crucial part of the chain events that led to their death. And while gremlin is annoying, Taehee is still the worst of the non-antagonist characters. Opportunistic, selfish rat.

I doubt that. TM is free to forgive her as was TH to forgive his grandma due to much closer bonds respectively, I don't even care, but TH forgiving this selfish asshole for covering up/keeping silent about the murder of his parents FOR YEARS while playing the cutesy cousin toward him? Can't imagine it, and he should not either bc no hell is hot enough for doing so. She is as rotten as her mother.

I have a hard time seeing Taeho forgiving her. Bc she knew of the murder and yet smiled in his face while he struggled with everything. And now only comes clean to cover her own ass. Taemin tells him that he should hurry to get married and be happy while he wraps it all up next week, so I'm kind sure we gonna see a reversed grandma situation here, with TM forgiving this pos while TH won't, justifiably so. I doubt she can be charged but she should f off abroad and live her own lonely life like she always wanted. I don't want her rotten ass around any of the brothers for a second longer.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Hyodo is better than her. At least he understands sibling loyalty. And despite of seeing THee as the golden ticket, he immediately asked for a divorce after what happened to his brother, wanted no part in this anymore. He is the one who dodged a bullet there in divorcing her, not the other way around. Because as useless as he is, he still possesses a (slightly tilted) moral compass and a conscience unlike her.

Also she's only revealing it now because1. Her mother is already busted 2. She is afraid her mother will do something to her too. Taehee is truly her mother's daughter. She does not care for anyone but herself. I knew why i never liked her and i hate myself that she fooled me into caring for her in between. Rotten POS, the woooooorst.

Kathryn was right about Taehee being involved in all of this. In the way that she overheard her demon mom giving the go on the white truck of doom who killed Taebro's parents and it was Yeom driving it. So this pos knew all these years about that it wasn't an accident but murder and yet went about her day/life without a care in the world. The only thing THee ever cared about is extorting money to live her own life (haha...ha), she already used her grandma being captured for years for that so this anew insidiousness is right on brand for THee. Like mother like daughter, indeed. Just see how she looked and smiled at Taeho, even knowing all of this. Fuck her. Worse than granny, by far.

Omg, this asshole. A sorry ain't cut it, what the fuck? Like "sorry this crucial information slipped my mind oppa" Forget the gremlin or granny, Taehee is the actual worst non-antagonist character. Because it's so sneakily insidious what THee has done and caused so much suffering with her opportunistic selfishness to live away and comfortably through extorted money all these years. She was using people and their fates like piggybanks to reach into whenever needed, not caring who she hurt or lied to along the way to preserve her monetary advantage over the years. She is indeed her mother's daughter and it shows. Rotten pos.

Title Live Your Own Life Spoiler
Another great episode featuring the cool, brilliant Kang Tae Min who, unlike his brother, remains in control of…
Things where different when he asked for the evidence back then. Because he would have clearly destroyed it and covered up for his daddy dearest at that point. He made it clear he'd every intention to protect them no matter if they had murdered TH's parents or not. Thankfully things are different now with him directly involved as son of them, but yeah it was better and smarter to only entrust it to him now. To make him see it for himself.

Personally TM is too emotionless/detached for me but I agree that's what probably needed to find the truth... unless ofc he falls for whimpy baby's sobstory again, that is. MH wasn't wrong in questioning if he can stay objective toward ppl who raised him for 40 yrs tbh. But his words at the end of that watching footage scene give me hope that he'll be and not fall back into old patterns.

Ofc Taeho is reacting more emotional than TM, like he just witnessed the last moments of his parents (TM did not even warn him ahead about the footage he's to see, which is not cool to do to your bro, dude) and he put himself into their shoes as empathic ppl do (they must have been in so much pain) and obviously he also has a different relationship to his parents than TM has to them. Hence the hurt is amplified for him and thus his reaction completely understandable and human. Especially how the grief reverberated into his further day with Hyoshim. It's nothing you can shake off in five minutes after all.
