same here. I will take a break from longform drama for a bit, bc i have to catch up on a lot of regular-length kdrama that i kept unwatched in LOYL's favor. Or take a bit of a kdrama slump break, as nothing outside of LOYL really appeals to me atm. idk.

Eps 25-ish.. So keep at it and your finger on the ffw button, as it will be worth it. I promise. Eps 15-25 are the hardest to get thru bc the writer keeps hitting the reset button over and over but the leads' scenes are still cute as heck. The plot and everything else picks up a looooot as soon she's moving out with a new bf emotionally supporting her every step of the way. So fighting ✊

I cackled at the beginning bc of course being as hyper aware as TH is, he would be awkward around his bro while TM just did his thing like always, letting him tag along 🤣 Sometimes things are indeed more easy when you're not giving (much of) a damn about the ppl around you instead of picking up on every nuance/emotion and trying to read/reflect on it, lol. That awkward bonding was very amusing tho 😂

I'm gonna need to cry-sob over Taeho again after today's episode. Because even after all she'd done to both brothers, Taeho still seeks out his grandma to ensure she is okay (have you eaten dinner?) and to console her (TM will be okay. Just give him time and honestly tells her his feelings on the matter aka it is weird but nothing bad to think of TM as my brother. Just need some time to get used to it) TH is such a good person and more than MH deserves, honestly.😭 I love how TH is written bc emotional intelligence is more than just empathy. It's being able to defer to a more capable person for the job (as he did w TM) w/o a bruised ego, and to make the first step w/o being hung up on his own emotions. TH's able to sort in his own feelings & quickly, in order to do that re: halmeoni.

TH's ability for forgiveness is right in line w his char tbh bc he's seeing & able to grasp another's person's pov always so clearly. Plus, having been so lonely before Taeho values connections to others most & thus won't give up on those he deems important to him. And he is a bighearted softie that doesn't want to lose them, especially not after having just found them (in case of Halmeoni & TM) Hence his fast acceptance of Taemin as his brother too. In both instances w TM & his grandma, Taeho showed an exceptional level of maturity & compassion toward people who'd hurt him before. But instead to linger in the hurt, he decided to move forward, w them in his life in the future, and i love him sm for this🥹😭 Bc, i could NOT have done the same in his stead, honestly. At least not this quickly and reflected like he did.

But exactly this keen ability of him to differentiate when to show empathy & compassion where it is needed (and he feels it appropriate to) and when to draw finite lines in the sand (as done with his aunt & uncle) is why he is the ideal partner for HS. Her brazen fam will never be able to walk over him and he already has proven that. Plus TH will make sure to protect and "shake up" his wife too, should she fall back too much into the helper mentality again re: her family. Which is also the fine but very important difference between a compassionate person and a doormat that lets walk others over them. Taeho is all of the former and none of the latter, for that matter, since he's his priorities and emotional self-awareness in order.

Yeeeees I went back too in watching highlights on YouTube and I noticed 1)Hyoshim was completely flustered by Taeho's question if she has missed him when they went out for drinks together (bc she did) and 2) was totally lying or in denial toward TM asking if she likes TH (romantically) Both happened in episode 7 or so. She hid a long time behind 'I'm only his trainer' and simply had no time to process/realize her feelings for him until much later but the attraction toward him is very apparent early on if you pay attention to Uee's more subtle acting and microexpressions 😉

if you don't think kissing yourself is weird well, that is why they were so stilted about it anyhow. Understandably so. And bc they did not want to kiss of course, it's just a matter of need to reverse what happened.

there is a murder attempt on FL which leaves her body in a coma for a month and thus she tries to find the culprit in ML's body, while culprit tries to complete his unfinished business of course. It is quite a bit darker than the trailer lets you think tho not too heavy. FL is the callous asshole this time, just as a heads up.

Collectively paper-cutting all potential culprits hands to make the perpetrator not so frikkin obvious is the most funny thing about this show, ngl 🤣

Well THee ain't really related to each of them bc she's gonna turn out to be the daughter of the minion. But I guess she is also gonna live her own live with the Taebros treating her like a fam member. No reason not to unless minion is also responsible for the murder of their parents

I'm way into deep into this show, hence it's the only one I care enough to write long posts about the characters 😁 Sadly LOYL is very underappreciated even by the usual MDL weekender watch crew as only a few if ever showed up for it while they grouse about the shitty daily they are collective watching, lmao. Oh well, I'm glad I could at least make you see how it is worth watching at least, especially if you like your main couple's relationship being healthy, adorable and super supportive 🥰 Just gotta get thru the first 25 eps to get to the juicy parts lol

The writer wrote an excellent arc and romance for the main leads in the family drama "Homemade Love Story" tho, so she definitely ain't that heh

It left me speechless that TM said to granny that bc his parents are still alive they are way more important bc TH's are already dead, so it is no use crying over spilled milk, basically. TH should just deal with it and move on/ be happy. He openly said also while he does not give a single damn about his pain bc his parents are more important and called himself a bad cousin as if this would absolve him from everything. It once more shows that TM has, unlike TH, a very low EQ (emotional intelligence) and a complete inability to empathize with other people and their perspectives. It is all about him/himself and his very very narrow cosmos. Complete tunnel vision. It is something that has been consistently part of his character from start to now with how he disregarded everything HS told him, especially when she voiced her disagreement and told him no bc he did not want to hear that, and never listened to her in general while monologuing at her constantly. TM being standoffish toward TH as he tried to reconnect with him, and feed him lies when he asked questions and generally treated him like a threat and intruder instead of a family member. No wonder TH gave up trying then along the way.

Then ofc the sham of a marriage where only his "woe is me" was important, and he was emotionally incapable to recognize her attempts to connect with him or even treat his wife like a human being bc, again tunnel vision and inability to think even a little out of the box and see the other person. He is simply unable to unless outer circumstances force him to, and the plot twist does exactly that. Which is why it was needed in order to shatter this dude's tunnel vision and make him look left and right for the first time in his life.

In fact, since he made it clear he is hellbent on protecting his "parents" even now, shaking up that very narrow cosmos he cares about is the only way to make him course-correct now and actually care about uncovering the truth of the accident/murder, bc now he is directly "involved" instead of passively glancing in from the outside, shrugging.
