Title Live Your Own Life Spoiler
The way my eyes rolled back in my head today when TM sung the old song of 'my father is a good guy' toward granny evil ugh. Thankfully he changed his tune a bit later when seeing the footage, but honestly i will flip all imaginary/proverbial tables if JB is declared "innocent" by the narrative and remains unpunished by the end. HE IS NOT. HE TRIED TO KILL THEM, FFS. He is responsible for his criminal actions and idgaf if grima worm tongue whispered in his ear. Nothing changes that fact. Lock him up along with the main culprit.

Title Live Your Own Life Spoiler
@bloomingtide I almost called a end to watching this drama after today’s episode. So in Korea (or is it HS,…
Disapproving parents are honestly such a common trope in weekenders i fail to bat an eyelash at it tbh. And since this is a show that is mostly watched by the middle-aged public, some things/customs seem a bit out there but parents approval for marriage is sought after generally as they are part of the family. Aka you marry not only the spouse but the family too, so afaik it is not as strictly divided as westerners do and the parents a huge part of their children's life, no matter how old. Blame confuciasm for it even if times seem to slowly changing. I am not korean ofc so that is just my guess from an outsider pov. You always have to watch these shows, made for a domestic, older viewers apart from western lenses tho.

However I am sorry that you had to deal with that irl tho, so i get why it is a sore spot for you. But Taeho does not mind he is even fond of that chaotic fam since he never had experienced a bustling dynamic before and yearns for it, so he is totally fine with the gremlin. Especially since he can handle her well like no other partner of HS would be able to. Won't take long and he's got her charmed like he did with Hyosung, bc he is a good, genuine guy. Also Hyoshim does not have to choose between her fam and her hubby to be, it just needs healthy boundaries TH will help to enforce where she is still too soft, and she is much happier with her fam close, in healthy doses. As said his wish to leave SK was kneejerkish and borne from grief, to escape all the painful memories and not really serious. He's to deal with his grief in order to move on, not run away from it (which HS recognized hence her mirroring his words and asking again and again until he fessed up the real reason for it) but for this to happen the injustice done to his parents needs to be punished first.

Also happy to report that Hyoshim finally went home after 84 yrs and her apartment still exists.
Haha, yeah that vacuum cleaner looked very PPL-y, but i take the small wins where i can get them lol. Meaning at least Hyoshim went home and had a nice curry dinner with her fiance.

Edit: But i think they actually PPL-ed the laundry detergent as Taeho said "I need to try it" like in an ad after HS told him "one pod is enough for a load" lmao. But it was probably PPL-inception combined with that expensive af dyson (??) and the instant rice which "was so good with being so firm". Hajun covered all PPL bases today in the episode and in one scene at that 🀣

Why did Yeom Jin Soo call Sook Hyang Noona?
yeah i honestly does not want him to return, least of all in a sudden kumbaya moment. Would all feel very undeserved after 25 yrs, so he can stay gone tbh. He's no right in hell to walk HS down the aisle at all. Hyosung should do that, end of story. Sadly they make HSung seem shady now as tho he knows more than he led on to....

Hajun didn't have that many scenes in this episode but what he had was hilarious, cute and showing his full range. From chipper boyfriend announcing to his fiancee that he'll organize a meeting with her mother if she's too busy to, to calling the gremlin and bringing his best golden retriever charm toward her (when are you going to call me Taeho, mother? πŸ₯ΊπŸ‘‰πŸΌπŸ‘ˆπŸΌ) while also handling her power trips perfectly in hanging up on her first πŸ˜‚ Over to bereaved son who witnesses his parents last moments (maybe give a heads up next time, bro?) and coldly swearing justice in their name. Then it is back to loving husband helping wifey clean her apartment, but waaaay more subdued than before, and his cheeriness fake in order to not bother her with it. But of course HS notices something is off and him having a hard time and pulls out the real reason for his sudden wish to leave SK to live in California again after their marriage out of him. Which is because he's reminded here (in south korea) of his parents at every turn and this is painful 😭 Love how well HS knows him by now too and him confiding in her after all. Bc when you on your own for so long it is easy to forget that you actually have someone in your corner and don't have to deal with your grief/probs always on your own like before.😭

(And no he wouldn't uproot HS if she doesn't want to go, which she doesn't. She is too much of a family person to go abroad. The whole Cali idea is borne out of grief and needing an easy way to channel/deal w that into a quick fix anyway, nothing more. HS recognized that it as such which is why she kept asking him to get the true reason out of him. I often say how TH is the ideal partner for HS but the other way around is also valid. She is as empathic as he is so she really gets him even if he hides his pain behind humor, and while her family is chaotic, it is a chaos TH yearns for with having no fam at all all these years. So obviously running away instead of truly processing their death won't change anything, which is why it won't happen either way. Taeho's arc is about getting to know the truth about his parents in order to get closure and be able to move on to a better future, after all.)

Sisters don't usually have EXTRA strong bonds with their brothers after growing up...At least in Asian households,…
ohh i see, Well the only one who has done that is Hyosung and they did get a bit closer due to that, but the other two dudes could not be bothered to become better people toward her and remain shitty. No loss on Hyoshim's side, if you ask me. Would have been nice to see but they are as wrapped up in their own little world as their gremlin mother is. So distance works best after all

guess it depends on the family, everyone is different. However here i get why she isn't close with them. they only used her all this time for her money and emotional labor, never bothered with being a good sibling to her. So why should she hang around them? Shows especially with HD who never bothered to check in with her or this ass HJ who has yet to apologize for everything. With brothers like this i would ditch them too w/o looking back. (in fact some of my irl cousins are such waste of spaces and their two sisters don't keep contact either due to that)

The only decent one is her oppa Hyosung who even defended Taeho against the gremlin's anew temper tantrum re: their marriage.

Why did Yeom Jin Soo call Sook Hyang Noona?
Probably a callback to their past ties where it hadn't been dog and master, nothing more.It was an angry one that is for sure. But also more importantly yall missed the giant curveball that was thrown on us there... as Yeom isn't THee's father after all. So he was deceived all his life by the demon made believe that, and thus called her out on that.

So now she is isolated with no one protecting/covering her crimes anymore, bc hell hath no fury like Yeom scorned (according to preview) Dunno who the father is then of THee, i still doubt it is JB's kid tbh, but maybe the writer wanted her to be tenuously related to the Taebros after all, lol.

forgot this drama exists until netflix reminded me that i still haven't watched the last episode of it in my "continue watch list." Wanted to clear it from it so i did... on 5x speed. Still felt like a waste of my time, should not have bothered, tbh. But now i can continue forgetting this drama exists in peace, at least. Silver linings.

yeeeep her complete lack of any character development thus far is disappointing ngl

My answer:A1: This one is so hard to guess. Female-EunHo is struggling between retaining his identity as a man…
To your last question: That only sounds like a problem for straight ppl. Can't relate, since i am bi. So i will be happy kissing either gender/nonbees lol.

Let's see how it goes for the leads in there tho. The character development is still non existent tho, even halfway through the show which is disappointing ngl.

already rated it 2.0. I have done my part to lower it, but sadly it did not work πŸ˜‚
I have been watching it tho? I just dropped around eps 56 or so when things become too stupid to bear is all. So i think having seen half is a good gauge to rate it, which is always meant to reflect my level of enjoyment of a show. And it did go toward zero with this show here, which is why i dropped in the first place. I'd have perhaps picked it back up if the comments here were more positive or rather the show stops being a trashfire, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I keep checking in since i know a lotta of you folks from the TRHC days we survived together, lol. Comments are also very similar in the way that ppl rant how baaaad it is, but yet keep watching 😁

Either way, it's not that serious tho.

well here we go with the pregnancy. LOL
hard rule in kdrama, especially the soapy long kind: If there is a night spent together of a couple, it always ends in pregnancy πŸ˜‚ (see LYOL too, lol)

I totally understand her, bc i have been there. She does not make sense because her brain doesn't make sense and…
Because she made the miscalculation of thinking she already could handle it, but the appearance of the other dude(her senior) made it apparent that her issues are more deep-seated than she herself was even aware of (with her father and everything) . At least she did stand up for herself at the end but yeah long way to go still. The second half of the drama will definitely about her process of healing and being truly ready to love, herself and others. (And of course kdrama writers are chronically afraid and unable to write a relationship where the couple stays together all the way thru, bc they fear that would be boring when it could not be more wrong tbh. Bc it is very underused in kdrama and the breakup a quick and simple source of conflict instead. πŸ™„ Here it makes sense for her character tho bc dating is a huge commitment, especially for someone with depression. You don't want to drag the other down with you after all)

FL doesn't make sense in the lastest episode. That was so annoying to break up because he was putting his own…
I totally understand her, bc i have been there. She does not make sense because her brain doesn't make sense and hates her. Like, i mean mentally. She is depressed and unwell, her emotions are all over the place and she has no energy to date rn. For this to happen, she needs to sort herself out first, aka work through her issues, past and present, and accept and love herself before loving someone else. It is not a process that happens with the snap of a finger, this needs time and therapy. Also this way it will be much fairer to ML too as she can give him the love and affection he deserves then.

This one was the one shown in ep 43? Probably they intentionally held back Mr. Yeom in the scenes there while…
Independent of this, gotta lock the wimp up for attempted murder too. He is not innocent in all what happened. He intended to kill them. Changing his mind in the last moment doesn't change jackshit about that as he actively endangered their lives in racing frontally towards them.

The medical part is just bg noise, it's not a medical drama like Dr. Romantic etc. It's about two people meeting again at their lowest and helping each other to get better again. Love ensues. Pretty lighthearted so far with themes of mental illness/healing, second chances with rival to friends and friends to lovers tropes.
