These are not weekend dramas, but regular kdramas that are airing at the weekend ;) There is a difference because weekend dramas are family dramas that air two times a year, each with 50 eps. It is called family dramas because it is very popular with older people (the ajummas) and koreans tune in to it with the whole family. Hence why it regularly has quotes from 15-25% or more. Its popularity with older viewers is probably also the reason why it way more conservative in its story and view points than your regular kdrama. I think broadcast stations do not want to rock the boat here or something. Story has to be "family friendly" I guess.
Also the production value is quite lower than your average kdrama which you already have noticed in its sets, clothing etc. The story itself is soap-y and even more of tropes/cliches than regular kdrama with situations dialed up to eleven (makjang) Basically weekend drama is korean soap opera. Imo in order to enjoy them, you need to roll with it aka not thinking too hard what is going on and if it makes sense xD
yeah the way he smiled at her pic was quite telling and cute. Looking forward to see more of them. Honestly the way he is portrayed thus far in the drama screams ML, (the cool climbing scene, the dramatic surgery etc) far more than the crappy husband does. And i am more than fine with that 😁
Pity about the streaming situation. I know a bit korean through active learning for a year now, but i dunno if i'd watch the whole show raw, only to rewatch it with subs later on for context. Gonna shelf it to my PTW list for now.

Yes, but there is a 20 yrs gap in between that, so it makes sense to learn from scratch. Anything else would not be responsible toward the patients she is going to treat and of course a lot had changed in medicine (its advancements) in 20 yrs too she has little knowledge of yet.

If you had continued to watch you would have seen that that husband (AND his mother) is a piece of shit even without the cheating factored in here. Dr. Cutie is all of us there, with the way he side-eyes this bastard, haha, and i will root for them instead. He seems to have taken a liking to FL already :D

Having watched episode one, i can't decide who is the bigger piece of shit tbh... that cheating bastard of a husband or his complete sociopath of a mother. The fucking gall of both to refuse helping FL when she is critical ill, treating her like a disposable stranger. Your liver regrows to almost its full size in three months as well, while saving a life so i really don't get the hesitation of any of these assholes to help (that so-called cousin too, fuck him) Like if this were my husband i would divorce his ass so quickly for this alone afterwards, even if it were with the last breath on my deathbed. (I don't get that husband in general, he clearly hates his wife and only loves his mistress. Divorce is the way to go here instead to make everyone feel fucking miserable.)

hahah, yes. The unintentional comedy of this drama is golden and my favorite thing about it, ngl. First all the uninvolved people getting all the tea of the main characters' family drama unasked, (the patients at TK's clinic and police officer going all "👀") then that wedding pic and Taekyung's look of complete disgust at SJ 😂 Too damn funny and.It is such a popcorn-worthy show, bless.
