Omg I love our King Lee Hyul.. I hope he stays alive and isn't the biggest baddy cause my favourites tend to do…
He is a cutie and could be a great king further down the line as he takes perspectives into consideration. I like that, while we have seen him reeling and overwhelmed at the prospect of ruling in the beginning, he is a quick learner and is slowly finding his footing in the palace politicking. That is promising for his survival rate, at least haha

Same. Since this is my first family drama it took me some adjusting to how things differ to "regular" kdrama, but now i really enjoy it. Mainly because i just roll with whatever chaotic insanity happens on screen without getting (too) worked up about it, or its logic, popcorn in hands. With that approach, this show is just loads of fun instead of frustrating. All those innocent bystanders getting unasked all the tea and deets of their conflicts, whenever he leads are arguing/characters are overdramatic etc is my favorite unintended comedy in the drama so far ngl π€£
In my little understanding of Korean tomorrow OYD will tell her mom that GTK isnβt the father. And I hated seen…
the episode tomorrow gonna be wild. First we have TK being welcomed in the family of YD and having such a good time he is getting pissdrunk and then saying how "he likes this house and being there" aww (this reminds me this poor guy very likely never had wholesome experience with his toxic waste of a family) then the niece asks him to pinky promise to live with them in the house (where he hesitates) then we have YD being a noble idiot and telling her shitty mom the truth about his parentage, or lack of it, so shitty mom runs away and we can only hope, it is far far away. Also TK being thrown out of their home again by hypocrite brother, apparently, coming full circle in record time Better buckle up gonna be a wild ride π
Also if i were him, i would get piss-drunk and crash my own wedding and sing dirty limericks xD but leaving that delulu witch at the altar alone with all the shame that comes with it is the next best option. Hope we are gonna see it tomorrow π
Joseon's Vincenzo is such a great & hilarious comparison!!! Just need him to be a bad ass fighter and have more…
Haha, thanks. But yeah, i think i actually prefer that han su is just good with his words not with his fists. It is a different spin on the whole badass character and dynamic. Plus, he is such a pretty damsel in distress too and so good in waiting for his princess to save him ππ
TK's hatred for SJ knows no bounds by now, and i am here for it. Gotta admit the masterful way she manages to continuously lengthen his shitlist of her is quite a talent. So is her delusion of getting away with itπ (Not her being a full on MAWWWIIIIAGE princess bride meme, but hey, have fun marrying herself when the day comes and TK continues to give no fucks) I am actually gleefully looking forward to him finding out that she cheated on him, and with WHOM, ngl. Since they also have become enemies forever, inclusive fist fight on the ground and all.
But i see now how the lie of it being his child and subsequent marriage to YD is his one way ticket away from that witch and all that mess. No wonder this man is gonna be so desperate to make it happen hahaha. Also i hope Joseon granny steps in lego. Barefoot. Repeatedly. Obnoxious, controlling old hag.
not sure if i should laugh at or feel sorry for TK getting for so beaten by her mom, now where i have seen the…
Lmao, and again with ML/SML fighting over who is the baby daddy at the police station. FL arrives as well and finally confronts her ex. The police officers right next to them: π πΏπ πΏπ πΏ
imo, ml's problem is not that he is being cold, it is that he is bad in communication and has a different approach…
It is not that i am especially fond of ML, mind. He has been an ass for the majority of these two eps, but i also try to understand his character/where he is coming from. He is a deeply flawed character, but it also always takes two in a relationship. So when there is no communication from either side it is especially bound to fail. Either way, it is a light romcom, so i don't expect we go deeper into their past relationship and what really happened/went wrong than the little what we got. But i do hope that his character growth is gradual with setbacks on the way instead of flicking a switch and he is suddenly a perfect saint to FL just bc he caught feelings for her along the way. We will see, it is too early to tell how it will go.
Didn't like the ML I am more interested in her sister story than leads .ML is a robot who doesn't know how to…
imo, ml's problem is not that he is being cold, it is that he is bad in communication and has a different approach to relationships that clashed with his S.O. Aka he values deeds over words. The problem with it is that he never verbally expressed his feelings or labeled his relationship when it was indeed needed. He just assumed things to be this way and fine with his partner, when it was not and that probably piled up over the years. Hence him *really* needing to learn how to communicate better instead of relying on mind-reading and assumptions.
Then again, communication is always a two way street so if his GF never bothered to confront him about his glaring flaws, how would he know and improve? Hence the breakup that seems sudden to him, but probably has been brewing for weeks or months for his partner. is hopefully a wakeup call and opportunity to learn and do better next time, which obviously will be with FL. I do hope she will challenge him more than she did with her own jerk of a bf tho. (never understood what she ever saw in him)
not sure if i should laugh at or feel sorry for TK getting for so beaten by her mom, now where i have seen the full scene. Poor guy just wanted to help her, and boi did it ever backfire π π
This is all so needlessly dramatic and that amidst his clinic omg. I lost it in the next scene where all patients/clients there in the waiting area were like π π π at them as they came out. They got all theπ΅ served π
I like how the light is interspersed with dark, the shift in tone is always fluent and doesn't feel jarring. It is a good mix of comedy, cute romantic scenes between the leads (Kang Han Su being like in "nope not in love" denial, and that in sync with the record scratch effect is always cracking me up π) and darker, serious scenes of revenge planning, portrayal of social issues (particularly regarding being a woman in joseon era) and more and more of KHS's tragic bg coming to light, is indeed well-balanced. The characters are all fun in their own way and compliment each other with their differences. (KHS is the best damsel in distress and in being mesmerized by his savior, ngl xD)
And i like that they take time to really tell a story with the two episodes one case approach and how it all links back to the main characters, plot of revenge/corruption. It is a good narrative structure thus far and i hope the writers keep building the (puzzle) pieces in this way to a complete picture. Joseon's Vincenzo indeed, lol.
Respectfully request FL gets with MLS partner. π Seriously, why make most of the characters unlikable? I only…
Isn't ML's bestie and business partner like *married*? So yeah that is indeed not going to happen then, for more reasons than him not being the ML, lol.
Also characters not being their best selves at the start is normal because where would be the need to watch them grow , learn and change then? Ver boring too if they all were flawless, perfect human beings from the get go. It is part of the story for them to learn and change over time, and if well-executed also very rewarding to watch. ML also is going through a breakup, so i get his grumpiness. Nobody would be happy camper in his place. He definitely needs to work on his communication skills and speak things out loud instead of assuming everything (in a relationship) But again, that is what character growth is for, heh.
The second episode was the perfect example of Expectation vs Reality, lmao. I appreciate this drama for exactly knowing what it is and running with it. The preview to eps 3 looked wonderfully chaotic as well.
Tbh, i called it ever since that boat scene where they forgot everything around themselves, looking at each other. Also because, well, they are the leads, so that is a given, but i have rarely seen such clear attraction between them this early in a story. Since, you know, han su has been crushing on her from the get go with Yeon Joo not far behind with returning the sentiment in kind, lol.
Oof, dunno why but i find the starting episodes painfully slow and it takes me days to get through them. Hope it improves down the line. I already love the short-tempered ML with a strong sense of justic... asskick tho and other chars are also promising in their quirkiness... tis just the plot which crawls at snails pace atm and it feels nothing happens.
It's part of coherent character design. The guy was depressed for more than half of the show, making it only out…
Yep, fits what (little) i know of him and his approach to a role. I really love when actors and directors pay attention to small things like that. Makes the story and character more believable and "real" than for example being all prim and highly styled like a supermodel in a disaster drama or when playing a depressed character like DJ.
Is 1st and 2nd season are connected or standalone?
Connected in the way that you know a lot more about the characters' bgs and the clinic itself if you watch season 1, but season 2 has a new pair of leads so you can also watch it as standalone.
Also if i were him, i would get piss-drunk and crash my own wedding and sing dirty limericks xD but leaving that delulu witch at the altar alone with all the shame that comes with it is the next best option. Hope we are gonna see it tomorrow π
