The wording of the synopsis never not makes my head hurt and eyes twitch. Who came up with that confusing nonsense? Anyway, i have sent in an edit now, so here is hoping we get a much clearer one soon in its place.
I was trying to explain to a friend why I'm enjoying this so much when at its core it's your typical makjang weekend…
saaaame. It also helps to not think too much about what is happening and get worked up about it. Imo, it is most enjoyable when you just roll with all the insanity while eating popcorn π Such a good "turn brain off" drama, tbh.
Tho i am also rooting for the leads and Taekyung to get a long overdue break from all the abuse he is put through, ngl. I look forward to their fake relationship turning slowly real and becoming a(n even) greater source of strength for each other than they are atm. Which is needed as surrounded by asshole people as they are tbh, yikes. (I feel TK gonna fall first tho, bc he is already so protective of her and goes the extra mile for her every time π₯Ί)
He called her princess. Im sure he did. Does that mean he already know who she is?
I rather think it is due to the way she is dressed up, aka telling her that she looks like one/pretty. Remember the guy is drunk af in this scene, so he has not his usual filter but also not his usual mental capacity haha. Plus in the previews she is afraid what will happen if he finds out about her identity. So imo it was just another, alcohol-tongued clumsy way to say she is pretty and she was very taken aback by his wording, is all.
yeah ml's mother and backstory is written like this for a reason, as she will be the very few "elder"accepting…
Oh i would like that. They would make a good fit tbh. And yeah it feels like he has resigned quite a bit to "his fate" so i hope there will be changes coming for him. He is too good for this shitty family tbh.
He played this role in literally two dramas, you make it seem like he played this role in at least four, lmao.…
In three dramas. You forgot about welcome 2 Life where he plays, well the unassuming nice guy turning out to do shady shit and being a psychopathic serial killer. Soooo yeah his role choices have a bit of a (same) pattern with him the past years. Nothing wrong with it but it is getting a bit old now lol. Especially if the writers want to use him as 'hidden villain' π
But tbh, my post was just meant to poke fun at that, since it is hard to trust any characters of his now, lol.
I think it's showing how he was never going to take responsibility. He's more concerned with her cheating than…
yeeeeah that is how i understood it now too. It is all him going "Your problem not mine, so don't come to me later (with the kid) and pushes all responsibilities to ML for it. hence the "i don't have to watch it growing up. To ML: "Good luck raising it."
The slap and her going "don't you dare to insult HIM or the baby" was poetic justice tho. So good.
got a timestamp, know what scene it is? I can try to listen to it with my limited (one year haha) korean to see…
ooooh i have seen the scene with subs and i feel this is a bit clumsily translated bc of context and a lot going on here with subtext. She says "it is yours" but also says "it is mine, not yours" bc of all the horrible things he said to her. which she lists to him. So basically it does not matter to her if he knows he is the father, bc she is going to take responsibility for the kid herself and leave him out of it. I guess this is why he is asking her once more if he should not own up to it/take responsibility (Are you sure it is not mine?) as she leaves. And then he basically doubles down in anger and goes "okay, you said i am not the dad then, don't come at me later (with the kid) Aka your problem, not mine. (I think this is why TK gets angry here too)
got a timestamp, know what scene it is? I can try to listen to it with my limited (one year haha) korean to see…
thanks but i fear i am not much of a help after all. I do hear an agreement there too, but she says something along the lines of how she will take responsibility (alone) and then continues to chew him out for being the worst human ever. It is hard to understand for me bc "de" can mean both agreement and no, and with everything in korean depends on context haha. Sorry. Given that, it could be a mistake in the subs too.
got a timestamp, know what scene it is? I can try to listen to it with my limited (one year haha) korean to see if i hear/understand something else there.
the episode tomorrow gonna be wild. First we have TK being welcomed in the family of YD and having such a good…
Yeah i like the gradual shift from bickering strangers to friends (and more?) in their relationship. And it is very telling that he goes well... *IF* i have to marry someone it will be only YD and already tried to propose... the idea to her. Will be interesting to see the change from convenience to love happen with him (and her of course, but he seems to arrive there before her, so to speak, with how protective he has gotten of her by now. And the extra miles he takes for her already. Declaring himself the father of her baby. The fistfight etc π)
But also long drama is long, so no wonder the writers pace themselves with the leads catching feels. Still 43 eps to go and to fill with their story, after all and none of them is in the right placeor state of mind for love atm, additionally.
i mean if the shoe fits, it fits. Because that hag is acting as though she is some royalty of a bygone era, so yeah joseon granny it isπ
(Plus, i am shit with names and/or cannot be bothered to learn the names of characters outside the leads in a drama, so i often invent nicknames for them π)
imo, ml's problem is not that he is being cold, it is that he is bad in communication and has a different approach…
yep, exactly, each of them in their own way.. As people are irl and characters also should be at the start of a story to give them room to learn and to grow :)
Thoughts about the romance/leads' dynamic thus far (under spoilers) :
i love how the romance is build. It feels organic with how they grow closer and trust each other more and more, strengthening the already present attraction/infatuation with each other. YJ has become somewhat his moral compass too, bc you notice how he looks at her now when he feels himself wavering by a more shady offer (like the one of the village head) She is his reminder that he can do better and by now... actually seeks to do so (if with some hidden motives underneath still) which is good, noticeable character development and her influence too, a bit.
They influence each other, in fact as Han Su makes her look past her starry-eyed idealism adapted by a noble, or in her case even, royal upbringing and the privilege it brings. Through traveling with him beyond her inn, she learns that there are more colors than black and white. That there is grey in between. Ngl i am kinda pleasantly surprised at how fast/early there was a spark between them, like instant almost, however unnoticed at first. So it was only a matter of time until it grew to something bigger between them. The scene where he drunkenly mistook her for his sister and cried in his arms? Wow, so good and such a natural way to let her know more of him/his bg. They are indeed each other calming pills, and it is the cutest thing. I am looking forward to further see its gradual development of them together, be it as investigative/scheming team or as bashful flirts swimming in the river of denial. Both is just as fun as the rest of the drama rn, and i hope it stays this way. till the end.
I also think the royal bg of YJ will be much more a problem for their love than SML, (bc he got insta rejected by her, in one minute tops, welp xD) I mean we already had the scene of her maid warning her to let han su go from her heart before it is too late. Well the joke is on her then, because it long since is, haha.

I hope the viki subs are a bit better tho, lol.
