Why have the ratings dropped? Is there an annoying FL? Is there an annoying SFL? Are there not enough handsome…
Cah be slow with its pace at times, but i really like it tho. Especially the FL, who is smart, resourseful and can kick some serious ass. Also like that ML is crushing first and fast but so far isn't even aware of it himself, so it ain't a fast romance by any means.
I'm a little worried they are gonna drag out the murder bit until the end. I do wonder if this whole plot feels…
Oh saaaame, ever since the victims were all related and a "bother" to CCY with no relation to the brother (who probably followed the culprit after they shot the stray cats he took care of. and thus came to witness the murder) is a complete red herring. They made him seem weird and suspicious but i am glad they are not going down this "mentally ill person is the killer road. I feel sorry for him. This poor guy has enough trauma for three people to deal with and his beloved cat also died/was murdered π
And, i guess i have to spoiler tag it after all xD, of course we have the usual, close to ML/FL innocent-faced character that has a hidden dark side trope kdrama loooooves to overuse. It is to blame that i never ever wll trust an innocent looking character again in a show hahaha. Plus all these "oh hi you are xy long time no see" run-ins Ji has with people who totally mistake him for someone else hahaha. Yeeeeah it is just so booooooooring bc too obvious from the get go, and, like you i fear they are gonna drag this dead horse to the finish line, sigh. At least HS is smort and picking up on small details and is suspicious... instead to be like her oblivious boyfriend, lol. I just... cross the fingers now that the motive for his murders is not Ji being in (obsessive) love with CCY bc i could live without the evil gay shit-trope. If it turns out to be that, i am gonna (β―Β°ΠΒ°)β―οΈ΅/(.β‘ . \) with the writer and downgrade my ratings A LOT.
Tbh, by now i really think this show would have been better if it only had 12 eps without this baaaaaadly done whodunnit murder plot.
Aaaand the most obvious ending to the most obvious "reveal", and a pretty bland episode in general tbh. No one was surprised about the events that ensued, yawn. I hate how much this obsessive murderer plot takes over atm and really hope they solve it in the next (two) episode(s). I start to get bored with this drama due to it tbh, but this far into it i only hope for a good ending/closure for most of the too many subplots. It feels meandering atm. At least we got a hot minute of romantic progression between the leads wow. Thank you drama for making room in your metal ball thriller for that π Feel sorry for the young guy SJ too, his mom never cares for him as a person, just as a study robot that needs to perform well 24/7 without any emotions or thoughts of his own. Yikes.
Also yikes at the ableist clowns in the comments here even if the scene in the drama was,,, out of place as it was too pushy etc Kinda uncomfortable but for lack of consent reasons, not because one of them is on the spectrum. He clearly expressed that he was uncomfortable with it, so i hope the show course-corrects next time.
(Just started it and it is the little things about the show to amuse me as korean learner so far)
Rembrary's speech level: HERE
Everyone else's speech level in modern South Korea: HERE, while going λ―ΈμΉκ΄μ΄ toward him xD
(This goes to show perfectly how ppl fear the wrong things when it comes to learning korean. It is the particles (aaaaaah) that are difficult, not the politeness levels bc only 3 of the 7 are commonly used nowadays. Maybe 4, if you count news reports where very formal reporting speech is used)
I've gone through multiple feelings with this plot. At first I hated it, then I started to make sense, then it…
I had like hot five minutes where i thought it fitted in well into the story before going back to hating it and it feeling so out of place, like i did for every episode, tbh xD
Also i couldn't care less for the love triangle in the school and HY's love life, and it is wild to me that some people watch the show only for these parts when... there are literally dozens of full fledged highschool kdramas, lol. But you do you, i guess.
I agree so much. I just hope they don't get separated by the crime plot or at least not for too long.
Oh definitely. All the hints about it today with how Ji reacted to HS being in his darling precious friend's/boss/object of obsession's life. All the red flags and sirens blaring honestly. That part is so predictable and dumb lmao.
Tbh, the drama would have been better without these superfluous mystery murder elements that are so... meh and imo getting worse/more out of place with each episode.
Like, focusing on the pressure to perform in the korea school system etc, pride academy and the nam family/hae ji's school life/lead's romance would have preferable and sufficient for the plot without tacking it on, tbh. Ah well.
do taiwan dramas have ad breaks every 15 minutes? These freeze frames with music snippet and then cutting back in with the same scene repeating several times per episode is daaaamn distracting/annoying tbh.
But the show is indeed better watchable without all the boring rich fam stuff who are just asshole characters i could not care less about xD Also it is veeeery OTT which i guess is the point to make fun of stupid romance tropes, but still it feels like a kdrama on steroids hahaha
Yes! I'm on episode 12 and I've been skipping All those parts because I hate the characters and it's boring, and…
oooh that is good to know, as otherwise this would have seriously hampered my effort to watch my first non-korean drama in several years otherwise. Thank you for your reply :)
Oh wow, that is great. Thanks for telling me π (Gotta catch up then very soon, since I still have half of season one left to watch. Curse my busy days with no time for kdramas lol.)
so EP11 gonna have some crisis and the last episode gonna be conclusion whether they can be a strangers or not
yeah og title is much better than the international one and makes a lotta sense, since it is posed as a question. And shows the inability of the leads to move on from each other, aka they clearly can't be strangers again etc
Honestly I must just know a lot of dysfunctional couples because nothing in their lack of communication seems…
lol, i was constantly asking myself while watching, especially during their weird point of how a relationship is *only* truly valid/lasting when there are kids involved: ARE THE STRAIGHTS OKAY?
The answer is clearly NO π (especially in this kdrama)
