Can anyone recommend me anymore dramas like this where the ml and fl have amazing companionship, trust and loyalty…
Except for the last one and even that drama, they are all romance focused and no thriller/action romp like vincenzo. Well FoE is, but it also has a heavy focus on romance, lol.

From Now On Showtime. The leads start off on a wrong foot, but grow to trust... and eventually love each other. Conflicts between them are solved head on and never linger between them longer than needed. They solve cases together and help each other (however reluctant in the beginning)

Flower Of Evil, there is some warranted plot related mistrust between the leads, but it is discussed about and generally they are a very ride or die married power couple that never gives up on each other.

Tomorrow With You. What starts as marriage of convenience becomes slowly more and their source of comfort under a sci fi time travel plot backdrop. Lots of skinship and cute scenes, support between the couple, through bad and good times.

Romance Is A Bonus Book. Friends To Lovers slowburn, no breakup. Thanks to their long friendship they are very comfortable and supportive of each other.

The Law Cafe. Basically a lawfully good aligned version of Vincenzo that tackles some social issues, while never taking itself too seriously. The main leads are one of these rare ride or die couples who work through struggles together instead to give up on each other. Literally married, just without knowing it yet. Plus, it pays great attention to and discusses the topic of consent in relationships, which is sadly rarely seen in a kdrama.

Im surprised that so many people hate the scene with the pigeons saving Vincenzo on the rooftop. I mean, its really…
I loved the scene *because* it was so ridiculous and completely in line with the drama's off the wall tone/humor. Did people bothered by it already forgot we had an elaborate plan involving covering someone in honey and letting loose bees in the court room to stall the case way before that? Nothing about this drama is serious (until it is... that is) or realistic, and you have a much better time with it when you just roll with it.

similar to cafeminamdang? Need another comedy.
if you seek something similar to CM, try From Now On Showtime. It is like CM, but better in every way (imo) Comedy, fantasy/supernatural, investigation, slow burn romance and character development all blended together nicely.

Mr. Queen is great too. Also Welcome To Waikiki Season 1 and the currently airing Gauss Electronics have loads of comedy with lovable/quirky characters and a good romance plot.

Can anyone tell me if they also thought the first 2 episodes weren't very engaging but ended up liking it after…
i honestly was sold as soon our dear vinney was at the bus stop swearing at "this damn korea" in italian after being robbed. I appreciated how extra and off the wall it was from the start tbh.

wth was the last scene in ep 8 for Gods sake?!! so many things are not flowing well in this drama..it just keeps…
honestly this is what i have been doing from the start as i could not care less for the rich family main plot and all its annoying people (lady yoo, SML etc.) Gwangnam is dear to my heart tho and deserves his own subplot that does not end with cheerleeding for FL.

First of all they better not break up in ep14.
Tbh they are the one of the most ride or die pairing i have seen in kdramaland because they while they may fight they always talk about their issues and clear them up instead to walk out on each other. I really appreciate this about this drama, and its focus on consent.

Lmao we had "the FL is so annoying for reacting (wrongly) to the things a situation and at first shady looking…
i think in order to prevent that, MDL only counts ratings when you have 4 watched episodes... which is also my standard trial phase for a (new) drama i watch. Sometimes more and up to half if it starts slow as some dramas do. If i don't like it then i move on. But at least i tried it then well enough to know if i like it or not.

Somehow lost interest in this drama. It was not bad, in fact some episodes were good but somehow I did not find…
that is my problem as well. Too much of the same thing, no matter how good. Had to even revert to older kdramas to get some variety in my watchlist that is not law themed, lol

Oh god you're so hateful for no apparent. Honestly I see why the fl would be annoyed. She thought he was a bad…
LIC *is* nothing special, but i really enjoy the leads and their misadventures in slow burn romance. And Jung Jiho and his actor is so frikkin adorable. It hits exactly my current mood which needs light, funny dramas and the airing lineup atm is all but that. Hence it slots perfectly in to what i want to watch atm. Other than that i am more in healing/slice of life drama mood, so law dramas have a hard standing with me atm. I may catch up on some of them later on when i had a bit more variety, but for now there are too many tbh haha.

Lol, it is always such a red flag when i see viewers blame netflix for content that contains any form what they deem "social commentary." Because these are the same set of people who screech "wokeism" from the top of their lungs as soon they see a female character/protagonist in a videogame or god forbid, any non straight/non white character in any kind of (western) media. I see this trend of manufactured outrage also continues with kdramas, great. But hey stay pressed that lgbt+ people exist (and always have), lmao.

Mine too. I have such a soft spot for the tsundere with a heart of gold character archetype, no matter if it is female or male characters. Helps of course that PHJ plays Chawoong perfectly and nuanced, from arrogant entertainer and sulky but adorable cinnamon roll manchild over to devoted boyfriend of 2000 years to Seulhae, he hits all the different beats and facets of this character haha. The role was perfect for him as another, less talented/seasoned actor could have turned him into an one-dimensional grating and toxic person instead *shudder*

Yes. I feel 12 episodes is the sweet spot for kdrama as it cuts out the filler. Hope more shows take on that format in the future. I have started Gaus Electronics on the weekend and got the biggest Waikiki vibes (in the best way as i loved its balance of wacky comedy and heartfelt romance and GE hits the same spots so far.) Really missed watching a pure comedy drama that hits the beats it fires ever since Waikiki, ngl. I tried "May it please the court", but it has not grabbed me yet, which is also due that i am tired with a big T of law dramas atm. There are just too many, particularly this month. So i take/watch it very slowly only,

I do love "Love In Contract" most atm, which is all due to the main leads and ML in particular. My fave since Chawoong as i can relate a lot to him as an introvert/being very awkward in social situations and thus easily misunderstood 😅I have high hopes for "May I Help You" to finally give me my supernatural/comedy fix after FNOS (and with CM ending up a total snorefest) *pleasedonotsuckpleasedonotsuckpleasedonotsuck*

Hi friend, happy to see i am not the only one still checking in to MDL's FNOS page. I said it then i say it now: Seulhae deserves better than being baseless hated on, tbh. This takes me back to the time right after it aired and all the people having just watched 1-3 episodes max while giving a "comprehensive" review about how her character/this drama sucks coming out of the woodwork. Lmao. Never change, MDL, never change. 🙄

CM has a strong start but peters out quickly and was a chore to finish for me. Definitely a worse version of FNOS in every way. But yeah like with Mr. Queen it is hard for me to find a show that is and hits similar to/like FNOS did. The closest for FNOS would be Mystic Pop Up Bar since it is from the same writer.

There is also the upcoming "May I Help You?" which has comedy and supernatural elements. Given we live in the year of 4895485848 law dramas every month is already worth checking out alone for the reason of it NOT being a law related drama/serious grim thriller, lmao. It also gives me quirky FNOS vibes, so that is another plus. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtmMUK3Q-rE

I personally had to drop it because of the ghost speaker thing, I found it stupid. Is it worth finishing it?
i always found it weird af when in a drama with ghosts, shamans and other supernatural events a device that lets the FL communicate with the ghost characters for (important narrative/plot purpose and convenience is the dealbreaker where people go "nope this is too unrealistic"

Like???? Make it make sense, viewers. It *IS* a fantasy/supernatural romcom after all and this a very weird, nitpicky reason to give up on the drama. Plus, we even see the development process of the device in a way and Areum giving an inverse "scientific" explanation how it works, what else do you want? Do you also give up on kdramas which have characters meeting/missing each other by chance too often, or where the events in general are too convenient too be realistic? I'd wager then you can't watch 85% of the kdramas anymore if you are also as bothered by it as you are by a small device helping to make communication between characters less complicated/convoluted. Kdrama and realism are also two things that are never to find in the same sentence tbh, lmao. So yeah xD

And yes, it is worth finishing it, just cover your eyes and ears that helps you thru the couple of scenes with the device if this is too much for you xD, as the rest is so very much worth it, imo. Especially if you have liked/enjoyed it otherwise.
On From Now On, Showtime! Oct 18, 2022
Gonna repost what i wrote four months ago, because it still rings true. (And bc i am never not annoyed by viewers not understanding how character development works.)

I noticed when FL's are falling from the norm of being "nice, meek and perfect in every possible way/in everything they do" they are quick to being hated by the viewers, nor given the patience for development. Much of a double standard too as ML is allowed all these things named above and to fuck up without problems and drawing the viewers ire,

I never understood the annoyance with Seulhae, even not in the beginning. Like Chawoong she has many facets to her character, even from the start. She is a very lively character: Loud, brash, chaotic, a bit impulsive and quirky, which is contrasted with her kindness/empathy (no one reads/understands CCW as well as she does), strong sense of justice, and a humanizing vulnerability. The moral compass of the group, if you will. JKJ does a fantastic job to bring Seulhae to life tho, flaws, quirks, adorableness and it all.

She has had every right to be suspicious of CCW, as from her POV he is a nutcase trying to get out of being convicted. Like who would believe in ghosts just because he told her so? Naturally she doubts him. Also she is allowed or should be to be wrong about it, or to be loud and impulsive/too quick to jump at a conclusion etc. Without flaws there is no character development after all and the character remains stale and boring. Said development happens gradually and subtly in the drama (as it does for CCW and others) but you gotta watch on to see it happen, of course.

Given that, you will understand why she is how she is as the story goes on. (same for chawoong btw) I advice y'all to stick around till end of eps 5 or better yet 6 with the resolution of that story arc between the leads, as there is a lot of backstory coming your way in these episodes. If you don't like Seulhae at this point in time then, well, then i guess it is your loss.... err you probably never will xD

I feel like I've been seeing LIGHTHER AND MORE ROMANTIC VERSION OF VINCENZO all along, although I don't mean any…
i have called this show lawfully good vincenzo before, lol, so it is a very good way to describe it imo. Vincenzo was better in plot/tension and the like, but they are still similar in a way.

First time I've ever dropped a dorama. I can't express how irritated, annoyed, and provoked this show made me…
Lmao we had "the FL is so annoying for reacting (wrongly) to the things a situation and at first shady looking ML presented to her as a cop (she is not all viewing and knowing like the viewer... would be weird too) "So I dropped it before I've gotten to the part where she corrects and apologizes for her jumping to conclusions/her impulsiveness and her well done progression of trust and care for ML." not for a while tbh. Made me wonder if MDL viewer had wised up in the meanwhile and learned that all characters don't start off as their best selves as this would be boring as hell, and what ensues is called a "narrative character arc and development" for a reason, but noooope here we go again. 😒😩🙄

Seriously don't rate it then, as you have not seen anything of it after 3 episodes lmao

Hae Jin is smart enough to remember her from years ago but not enough to see the obvious that the fl doesn't like…
Well his 500k Sangeun/Haejin self insert fanfic does not write itself, after all 🤣
