Historical dramas are rarely highly rated and have it harder to find an audience. Did not help that this drama was quite overlooked as it aired so only about 1k people rated it. But honestly do not put too much weight on the rating, bc MDL rarely gets it right in my experience, and simply try it for yourself if you are interested in watching it. Easy as that.

If you don't mind your investigation drama with a hefty side of a supernatural/comedy/fantasy mix that does not take itself too seriously and yet has its heartfelt moments try "From Now On Showtime." Has a well-written frenemies to lovers slow burn romance too and a very satisfying ending for the main leads. There is an overarching plot but also cases of the week and the characters, and the main leads partnership/romance in particular, are front and center to the narrative for various spoilery reasons ;)
Good Job is another drama that fits the bill, but it is very campy and silly... which is part of its charm. Best watched with popcorn and brain turned off tho, haha.

It's your free time and choice ofc, but for my part when I don't enjoy a drama I will drop it and move on. Especially 8 episodes in as we are now.
Also this is a drama best to enjoy in rolling with whatever happens and not thinking about it too much. Kinda like the drama Good Job did before it tbh. 😁 Like that show, I don't watch it for the amazing plot or a tightly, interwoven written narrative, but mainly for the leads, their chemistry and their mishaps.
Yeeeeeah right? The audacity, ugh. Especially after the shitty way she treated him and how badly they did split up. However it looks like to be just a minor distraction so whatever she had planned won't work on Jiho.
I'm disproportionately upset about the witch of an ex talking in present tense instead of past tense as she should have with the "she *is* married to the man over there" dialogue bit, ngl. (The drawbacks of being a Korean learner to pick up on those details even without the subs having to note it, I suppose 🤭)
