I'm not sure which kind of development or relevation you expect to happen in one singular episode tho? This drama…
I was bored at first too and didn't know what the deal was with this drama. It starts really slow, but it got me hooked around episode 5 tho, where the drama starts to let characters empathize with each other and more of their inner thoughts and bg begin to show. The writing picks up from there, and the character development, while subtle and slow/steady, gets rolling. Their progression from enemies to finding an understanding then to love is well done with added craziness along the way. You gotta remember that this drama is more a genre mix than pure rom-com tho and even parodies a lot of the tropes while using all the tropes. Hard to explain but you will see?🤣 It does not take itself too seriously and how self aware it is is another thing i lik. It is OTT with many things by design.
I also love how they subverted my expectations of not dragging the evil spirit plot out till the very end. It's refreshing and gives our leads time to sort out their feelings for each other. Even if, it is just a small respite of a few episodes until the evil spirit returns and possesses Soo Hee for the big Finale as I believe will happen, I'm glad they are getting a break.
Plus in mystic pop up bar the evil spirit plot could only be sustained till the very end bc it went under their radar in wearing a familiar face, so yeah.
I finally know what's wrong with this show. It's just not fun. It's not over the top, dramatic or funny enough.…
Yeeeah, it is playing everything way too straight i noticed and gives it all a too odd tonal shift. Honestly if you want a viki drama which does quirky humor WELL watch "From Now Is Showtime" instead ;)
I guess a kdrama does not work without a breakup huh? As long it ain't taebyul i take it tho. Hope Yuuuuuna finds…
Out of the top of my head: The recent drama Crazy Love does it too, as they talk like grown ass ppl with each other and clear up misunderstandings before they can fester. From Now On Showtime has also no breakup, but that is probably due to the leads still being on the verge of getting together in tomorrow's 12th episode (slooooow buuuuurn).
If you go a bit further back, Dali And The Cocky Prince even did a parody of the breakup trope while playing with the viewer's expectations😁
🎊Welcome to the club haha 🎊 I have started to watch "Bring it on, ghost" only to have to watch something…
Oh god yeah, these idiots are always thinking that everyone cares about kpop/bts (see the whole ridic BTS Army whining about tomorrow) when they really really don't, lmao. Personally i am all too happy to stay in my kdrama corner as those kpoppies are weirding me out (not all, but you know the ones)
I can understand where Taesung's hurt is coming from.He was told by his own mom to not call her a mom in his childhood.…
Yeah i honestly see no reason why he should reconsile with her. Even if she is (terminally) sick (??)... fuck her? Sorry but she has no right to be in his life. At all. His complete refusal of her is totally understandable and cutting out toxic ppl/ or not letting them back in after traumatizing him, is the right and healthy thing to do. Even or particularly when it is family that is meant to care for you. Because when they don't, why should you?
But i do think we still are going the tired "forgiveness route" one way or another, bc culturally filial duty is above everything in Korea. So a parent, no matter how shitty, not getting their way in the end is pretty rare, if unheard of, in kdrama, alas.
Ngl, I laughed more than i probably should have when Seul Hae booked it in the middle of the promotion ceremony of her once-crush Soo Hee. That woman has now her priorities straight (☞゚∀゚)☞
I don't usually enjoy historic kdramas, but I liked these scenes about their previous life. 😍I hope that Cha…
Yuuup. One thing is sure tho.... he will even be more hearteyes about her hahaha, and i cannot wait to see him assuming full adorable BF mode (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *
(I enjoy historical dramas when they are like Mr. Queen🤣 Aka a genre mix with romance, humor, action etc instead palace kerfuffle of old men for power only. Also they are always a feast for the eyes with the costumes and such)
Okay lovelies What is next in your watchlist for upcoming dramas??Mine is (upcoming) - 1. One thousand won lawyer2.…
i pretty much try every newly airing kdrama i am even mildly interested in and then see what sticks. For June it is:
Link, Eat, Love (Jin Goo <3) Yumi Cell 2 (need to catch up on the first one still) Alchemy Of Souls (a historical drama with comedy/romance? Yes pls) The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate (solely on my list bc Song Joong Ki is ML) Why Her? Cleaning Up Jinxed At First Café Minamdang
For perspective: In April/May i picked up: Our Blues, MLN Love All Play Bloody Hearts Shopping Killer List Again My Life Kiss Sixth Sense Wedding Hell FNOS Sh**ting Stars Woori The Virgin.
Out of these i only stuck/will stick with the last three ones all the way thru. (the jury is still out on Kiss sixth sense, wedding hell and bloody hearts which are all not really grabbing me so far) Others are either dropped or on hold until i am in the right mood to watch them. I will catch up on MLN on 2x speed as this drama is supposed to be watched I think, haha. Maybe Love All Play will leave my on hold hell again once it is less melo and frustrating. We will see.)
