I can relate to some bits and pieces of Yang Hua's personality at work. I didn't survive long in corporate work of my home country (SE Asia). In my current country, the work environment/culture is different (I don't work corporate work, either), so I don't feel the same as when I tried corporate work in my home country. It feels refreshing to see a character like Yang Hua in a drama (making me feel like I'm not alone).
Very interesting background story between FL's father and his 2nd ex-wife and current wife. Explains a lot of the dynamics shown in the past (esp. during FL's father's 70th birthday). This drama has a lot of things: family dynamics, career dynamics, relationship dynamics. I really love how FL and ML interact. He always instinctively knows what the FL needs/if FL wants to ask him something.
i don't understand sml and his gf character at all.sml trying to chase a married women when he has a gf on the…
Wu Fei feels sorry for her boyfriend because of the lies (that Qin has been married for 2 years and has a 2,5 year-old son). Because Qin and the ex-boyfriend broke up two years ago = she thought it meant that Qin had "possibly" cheated on the boyfriend (whose child is it? so she got pregnant before they broke up?) and the lie also meant that she got married right after she broke up with Tao Jun Hui. Tao Jun Hui is also obviously still confused (and fuming) about how on earth a woman who was against marriage all of a sudden has been married for 2 years (and has a 2,5 year-old child). So this is all happening because of the lies. And FL couldn't defend herself and correct the misunderstanding because it would mean trouble for herself and Yang Hua.
My friend (who's also watching this drama) said she didn't like the fact that Wu Fei was hating FL because of these reasons HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHH...
I was clapping inside at Qin Shi's revenge on the a**hole partners HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...but I also appreciate Tao Jun Hui's harsh words, because they helped Qin Shi set boundaries. The good thing is that there's Yang Hua with such a gentle reminder on a Post-It note as a contrast to Tao Jun Hui's harsh words.
And Li Dai. I appreciate her character, as well. Not a petty rival/colleague, but a fair one.
It's really nice to see Yang Hua smile more. The interaction between Qin Shi and Yang Hua becomes more and more interesting. I couldn't help laughing when Qin Shi asked what her problem was, but Yang Hua was petty enough not to answer HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHH...can't wait for tomorrow's episodes!
Yeah, ditto, I find ML's mother behaviour unacceptable, as well. Unfortunately I've come across someone even more…
Your kids are lucky to have you as a mom he he...my mom was like you, not overbearing at all. My dad was more traditional, but luckily he could be influenced by my mom (hooray!) HEHEHEHEHEHHH...
The ML's mother's behaviour is really irritating...cannot understand parents who behave this way towards their…
Yeah, ditto, I find ML's mother behaviour unacceptable, as well. Unfortunately I've come across someone even more extreme in my life (I'm from SE Asia where kids oftentimes still live with their parents until they get married, unless they study in another city). Some of my friends' parents are modern enough, but the traditional ones can be overbearing af. One ex-uni friend had to break up with her boyfriend 'coz he wasn't up to her mom's standard. She had to give up all their photos and their memories together and her mom burned them all in front of her.
Her mom also took her mobile phone and blocked her email access (unfortunately my friend's elder sister and younger brother were in accomplice with the mother). Sigh. What's the result? My friend is still single until now (about 16 years later), though she now lives in another country (far away from her parents). Now I live in Europe where the parents and kiddos dynamics are quite different from the ones in SE Asia, but ML's mother really reminds me of those overbearing parents in my home country. They are the ones that care more about "what other people think" and "don't bring shame to the family" and "I've paid so much money for your education, so you have to listen to me 'coz I know better".
Ep 9, I wanted to clap my hands and jump with joy at what she said to ML's mother HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH...
"So, based on what you just said, you wish your son to marry soon, but it would be you who decide whether the person is a good fit for him?"
"You claim to have your son's best interest, but do you ever think of his feelings?"
"Do you care about your son or how others view you and your son?"
And the way she clearly stated her boundaries, saying that that should be the last time they had that kind of conversation and that ML's mother shouldn't barge into her office again.
I liked his hair best in Arsenal Military Academy. So swoon worthy 🥰
Yeah, the plot for long xianxia is oftentimes flat/long-winding/too much unnecessary filler in the middle. Same, I also watched ALP for Xu Kai ha ha ha ha...but just couldn't get to finish it.

Ah, I see. I think he could use that excuse (health issues) to get out of difficult situations with the other princes/his father. That was why he wasn't upset that there was that kind of rumor about him.

I'm not saying he's actually physically weak. He pretended to be weak so as not to be disturbed (at least that's the message I got), but my point is that in the beginning FL said that the rumor said that ML was a weak prince (according to Hao Jia's book about the different princes and what they are like). And it was true that he had some stomach issues for some time (like in the beginning episodes). ML was happy when he heard about the rumor that he was weak, because that was what he wanted people to think.

I felt SOOOOOOOOOOO satisfied with this scene!
