It was either last ep or a couple episodes before where TT and her friend were having a talk about romance and dating and her friend is like "didn't you join bc you thought TZ was handsome?" and TT replies with "Yeah but he totally likes MM" .

So like TT likes TZ but she's pretty much holding back because she thinks he likes MM.

Like it's unbelievable that TT can live with them for a year and prove herself time and time through loyalty - let alone taking the blame for countless things RTZ has done . But regardless she still thinks the absolute worst of TT, you would think that she would trust her at least a little bit by now.

mengmeng isn't really annoying - it's the way that the ML treats her that irritates everyone . she really doesn't do much except exist

Whoever said that Tianzhen takes one step forward and two steps back is so right. Like that should just pop up whenever he's on screen as a reminder so we don't get too disappointed by whatever he's about to do.

It's just kind of baffling how little respect he has for his family - not even towards his mother who covers his ass for all the mistakes he makes.

Toutou mentioned it as a side comment but truly he's a rich spoiled boy. No respect for his elders and even then just no respect for the gifts his family gives him. It was crazy that he couldn't even sympathize with Toutou when she mentioned that she is an orphan. That should've been the first window opening in his brain that told him "Maybe I shouldn't take my family for granted"

I hope they get the cctv footage and I hope his grandmother see's how ungrateful he is.

Also I am not even going to begin to talk about his whole tantrum about moving in with mengmeng in an apartment.. Like he's doing this without even asking her if that's okay or even asking her parents if that is okay.

The nerve....

Mengmeng seemed like she was kind of more aware during that “third-wheel” scene . Not saying she doesn’t usually know what’s going on but usually her expression is kind of “👀????” . Although as the camera was on her during that whole conversation scene- it seemed like she was thinking “why am i in the middle of this” / in a fun innocent way though .

Either way , as she gets better - i wonder if she’ll do things for more attention because obviously lack of care and attention is what kinda got her to where she is and now that she’s getting A LOT of attention - she might desperately miss it when she gets better and people don’t come to her first before anything else .

Her character is difficult because i don’t want to hate her or think the worst of her because it’s really not her fault she’s the way she is - and it’s not her fault the ML is treating her with such bias. I guess it’s just the insane potential she has to become antagonistic / get in the way of the FL . Especially because we have so many more episodes to come.

Shout out to the cast for their wonderful acting ! I would not be this worked up about the characters or story if they weren't doing so well portraying their characters haha.

Everybody ganging up on the ML in the comments in amazing because he definitely deserves it.

I know we're only about 10 eps in but if you're not caught up - Spoiler warning !

There's just so many things that he has should've done by now in order to at least gain some respect from his father- and although I felt like the dad was a little harsh on the mom. She did not do enough to punish tianzhen.

He should be taking care of mengmeng in a more professional way.
He should've not left toutou there alone. Or at least come back for her.
At the same time, he should've admitted to his mistake. Did he not see how his dad was forgiving of toutou because she took responsibility for her actions. Even if xinzheng has a little bit of bias towards toutou, there's a respect that comes with owning up to your actions, even if you know that you'll get in trouble for it.
And he should've left mengmeng at home and not give his friend's spot to her.

Whether or not something bad happens to mengmeng in the next couple of episodes- tianzhen needs a rude awakening. Because he's clearly showing an unhealthy amount of attention towards mengmeng and in the process being insanely mean to toutou for no reason.

The whole thing with mengmeng is that she needs support in being comfortable with the world again- She needs to regain her confidence. But all tianzhen has done has made her dependent on him and now it's almost impossible for her to gain that independence without having to forcibly be ripped away from tianzhen.

I do like tianzhen and I really do have hope for his character to improve - but Wow ! There is so much he needs to mend and what he needs to do in order to gain respect from me again. While toutou just proves to be more and more wonderful as the episodes go by.

she has actually been learning things but it hasn’t been thrown in our face - like her being able to memorize lines from the books they’re reading in class and using the teacher's words against him

or even toutou correcting the lawyer lady because she was studying wrong

toutou is way smarter than she’s letting anyone believe , especially because she acts disinterested and rebellious most of the time . if you watch her closely when she’s with the teacher than you’ll see that she’s very much interested in learning - she just doesn’t want to admit it

yeah this show is 40 episodes but i don’t think these episodes have been filler , her character has been changing very slowly but nothing is necessarily not important

I think the scene at the mountain was really well done . Like of course as the audience we know she isn't joking but it's crazy how fast the emotions pass by, and how quickly she lightens the mood afterwards by playing it off as a joke. And then we never revisit the topic- It made me feel the emptiness that she must be feeling and how quickly she has to mask her feelings all the time.

But I also agree with TT needing to develop a sense of responsibility - I think it's just an accumulation of her feeling like she doesn't belong, not being taken seriously (although that's on her)- unless she doesn't want to be taken seriously, but also she needs more people to actually show her real care in order for her take everything more seriously.

Even if she takes everything as a joke, when she's with Xinzheng- you see how focused and how fast she learns.

It'll seriously take some time but TT will totally go through some character development.

watching gen-z right now . zhao lusi is so great !!! every new project of hers i watch i can just tell that she's getting better and better <3

also ! i totally understand him being so protective over mengmeng as he feels like he needs to take responsibility for her - but man do i feel like he's going a little overboard

i can excuse everything but him not carrying her basket even though he carried all the other girl's baskets . like i felt that personally

i feel insanely immature right now because i'm feeling either pettiness or jealousy in toutou's place about tianzhen and mengmeng

i've never seen wu gang before in a drama but wow ! he seems totally natural (probably expected for an older actor)

not really ,, just adds to the joke of him smelling bad later ☝️

if you still are interested in watching the japanese version , it's on the internet archive website , just search up the japanese name of the movie - the subs are half there but still it's enough to get what's happening ,,

honestly this movie is exactly what i needed right now , i always tear up when bands harmonize / tune together - really just a wonderful sound and a wonderful feeling if you've ever been in any sort of band or choir . their performance at the end was amazing as well !

uhm junghwa is so pretty . i'm really rooting for her character's happiness

tang songyun , zhang xincheng , and song weilong did an amazing job acting as the leads in the original chinese version . You can't forget the child actors too. I hope that the korean version can live up to the original !
