Omg. A serious, heavy plot sageuk that isn't a youth romance with kpop music? Somebody please pinch me 😂This…
If you have time please check out Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People ! It's by the same screen writer as this show and isn't a youth romance with kpop music haha .
It's honestly in my top 5 sageuks, if you like this show I'm sure you'd like that show as well !!
I always love seeing the cast and crew's pictures and videos at the end of a show ! I know I don't know the pay situation within the actors/writers in Korea, but with the strike happening over in Hollywood- it makes me happy seeing the people behind the scenes !
Maybe it's just me , but the casting people did a super great job with the person they casted to play Haesang's father. He really resembles a younger version of Oh Jungse.
So, I know Haesang has some issues interacting with people but it bothers me how he just lets Sanyoung go when…
Right like clearly she's a threat to herself and everyone around her .. but then he leaves ... It's understandable with the level of trauma he's been through , that he just walks away . But even Hongsae stayed with Sanyoung when he knew she was possessed and made sure she didn't hurt others or herself ..
it’s kind of crazy to me to see all of the intense criticism happening over this show when there’s barely 4 episodes out - but i guess that’s what happens when popular actors are in a highly anticipated show that’s from a well loved webtoon
speaking about the end of episode 3 , grief , loss , longing , love - when shows depict these types of emotions well , i tend to really enjoy that show . and from what i’m getting so far in this show is exactly that .
the build up of the reunion of mother and daughter , the joy of an uncomplicated, instant recognization , and at least a moment where they are crying from happiness, sadness . they miss each other but they have found each other again
but that is stripped from us when we see the FL in the perspective of the ML . she is alone , crying and hugging herself in a self made illusion that stems from hundreds of years of grief and yearning.
in the beginning of episode 4 , we see this again . in her 3rd life , an innocent child sees a mother he once had . but it’s the first time she has regained the memories of her past life so she doesn’t know that nobody remembers except her . the child goes to his mother - is rejected - and our FL is faced with the reality that she is alone . she is left to mourn a relationship that she herself only knows could still be rebuilt .
that trauma and sadness is carried on throughout her lives and it’s just heartbreaking to see how desperately she wishes she could just hug her mother once again - because she is so close yet so far
i thought this was an okay watch - like nothing too bad but i did skip around a lot because it was slow . spoiler…
I'm not sure if I like how open-ended everything was. I hoped to see Sohyun and Joonpyo get together. Especially because Joonpyo was nothing but great to Sohyun after he learned who she was. On the other hand, it weirdly alluded to Sohyun and Taeyeong being the end game couple. Like the ending photo was of them hugging. Maybe it's just me but I really didn't like that pairing.
Either way, Yura definitely shouldn't have been forgiven. Really she should've been ditched by everyone after what she did came to light. I can see her still being mean and backstabbing towards Sohyun in the future.
I rated this a 7/10 because I think the story was interesting enough for a quick watch. Maybe something to put on when you don't need to pay attention that well.
It was mostly nice to see Kim Tae Hee and Gong Yoo acting together.
i hope he plays a character that is living a good life and is happy soon ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ . i’ve really only seen him play characters that have A LOT of trauma haha
Well she didn't check on her niece in her 18th life at all. It makes you wonder why she wouldn't despite being…
I figured she was satisfied with her old past lives and didn't want to revisit - so since she was struggling so much in her 19th life , that's why she turned to her niece. And with that same thought, since her 18th life ended so soon before she was able to live without regrets. She now wants to use her 19th life to complete what she was doing in her 18th life.
The son would've had to been born in order for the time machine to even exist. Maybe it's one of those time travel…
oh yeah I know ,, i was just going off of the comment (in the hidden reply) that insinuated that the son lied not to hurt the father's feelings . but it is nice to think that they were always meant to meet
Yes she ends up with Xiao Wu. She had no kids with CWD. Together they set up business in another city from where…
That's kind of interesting that she ends up with Xiaowu . If you don't mind me asking , was it just because of their friendship that they decided to live together or do they actually end up developing feelings towards each other ?
the ending is a bit vague.. they should explain it more properly..i just think in the main timeline ML really…
The son would've had to been born in order for the time machine to even exist. Maybe it's one of those time travel concepts where everything is happening simultaneously.
Like the son would've never been born if they never met in the past aka her getting hit by his car bc of the son's call. Therefore time is an illusion and everything was happening at the same time LOL . Seriously that's the only sound logic that would explain what happened.
Sorry if this sounds like nonsense .. but for science fiction type shows - anything can happen tbh
But also, it is a question on if the ML and FL would've met regardless - but who knows haha
at the same time - of course not including her 18th life , i think she has learned not to feel too attached once…
Thank you for the detailed response !
Yeah it really feels like she views her 18th life as incomplete - and despite her going through so many hardships throughout every single other life of hers. Having the chance to be able to do what she promised Seoha (aka be there for him)- I doubt she'd miss that chance. Or else it would really be a big regret. I'm glad she has the Ajumma (her niece), there with her though. Having someone you could be 100% true to yourself with is probably a blessing considering her struggles. And it's kind of understandable why she hopes Seoha could be that person as well.
I really am enjoying the show so far , and now I kinda want to read the webtoon too haha
I can't complain because it's done well but it gave me anxiety because I thought their party was going to get crashed by the barbarians.
