I am doing the same too,! I did try a few new dramas (the two mentioned above incl.) , but they just didn't stick, their stories, the cast pale in front of The Pearl Girl, so I ended up in rewatching the early episodes, waiting for the new ones to come the day after.

youku cannot spend like Tencent or Iqiyi, but often time I find myself Iogging into youku app more often than I do with Tencent etc for some good dramas. When a drama a good, public opinions are the most effective publicity.

I do hope he won't be another Allen Ren who dies 7 out of 10 dramas... Besides ,this storyline doesn't really require a BE, right?

very moving indeed, he is great there. what a shame this scene is reduced, edited to the minimum, both in dialog, emotions and motion.

I don't have yr patience, much as I'd love to watch all the episodes in one go. As to yr question about likes and dislikes, in all honesty, there is nothing I dislike in this drama and I like everything about it, the production quality, the settings, the story, the cast. I am holding my breath for a HE, I want, I demand (lol) the happiest ending!!!

the fact is this drama is on top of the viewing chart, the main actress receives endless appreciations for her performance from people in and out of the entertainment circle.The fact is I am, like so many others, enjoying this drama, the entire cast delivers great performance, the cinematography, the settings, the visuals, the costumes, the story are top qualities. what is not to like about this drama?? only those who are envious, malicious speak otherwise, they come and go with no impact on anything, they are nothing.

good news, this drama is worthy of a global platform indeed. This having said, don't know how much viewership it will cash in for netflix, as netflix are always slow in picking up Asian dramas and when they do, they always release episodes ever so slowly, so for those who are keen to watch, they would have already done so thru other streaming platforms.

I was asking myself the same question too. Don't know why, and am not complaining neither. As for tomorrow, since youku has released trailers of the next two episodes, I have high hopes that they'll be aired tomorrow. May be airing 2 episodes has better effects on viewership count?

Netflix perhaps needs a better consultant to pick Chinese dramas, they are airing Kill me Love me now in Europe, not that I have anything against Kill me Love me, but surely The story of Pearl Girl offers a lot more, it is a well studied and well written drama,nothing is spared in production and cast. Then the cinematography, visuals settings, costumes, OMG, I am literally in awe.

I am totally invested in this drama, don't have the time or want to watch other stuff being aired now, I love the cinematography, the settings, the visuals, the costumes, the relatabilty of the story, the choice of the cast , their performance. it is the best drama in this period and more

this drama deserves a worldwide platform, it has all the elements for an excellent showcase , and it outshines other Chinese dramas aired in Netflix so far.

Does it happen to any of you too? The ups and downs of the storyline makes me breathless, him killing the accountant once she reaches land after being thrown into the sea, then him being identified and captured, his wealth confiscated, these all make me think something deeply planned is underway, but how, did he really slate the accountant? How does he plan to get back on his feet? Why those two who tortured the little boy got a free pass? I have so many questions in just 15 minutes! This drama is truly a one of the most engaging I have seen in a long while, the cinematography, the settings, the visuals , the costumes are also delivered with extremely high quality, the entire cast are too notch professionals, if it were possible to rate it even higher than 10 here, I would, immediately!
