the story is extremely weak, quite a waste of a good cast.

sinde the male lead has never disappointed me, I have decided to give this drama a try even though the female lead looks so "green" to me. The drama began well, the beginning looks quite impressive..

I have learnt to appreciate the performance of the male lead since Lost You Forever and hav tracked down his work since then, a great actor, very natural, so totally immersed in whatever role he plays, he does not act the role, he is the role he is given to. However, I cannot say the same about the female lead.... anyway, I'll watch this drama to the end, the male lead has earned it.

A new storyline so different from what we see everyday. great performance from the cast, totally recommend it.

Xiang Liu's love for Xiao Yao is personal, it comes after his sense of duty, loyalty to the army and gratitude for his adopted father, therefore he did not hesitate to kill her brother , nor did he hesitate to safe Tushan Jing when he was flowing unconscious in the ocean, because between the two of them, TSJ is the only who can spend the rest of his life with Xiao Yao. He chose not to let Xiao Yao know how much he did for her because it would only cuase her pain. He said so himself that the best ending for a general is to die in the battlefield. TSJ loves Ziao Yao with all his might and beyond, he was holding her tight in his arms with fire all round them to keep her from getting burnt, then he chose death thinking she died. He went thru endless pain to try to recuperate his memory lost, he got sick, he didn't say a word, he hired Fangfeng Bei to stop Ziao Yao from marrying Chishui Feng Long only because he saw Ziao Yao was going into a loveless marriage. He treasures her every word and does everything she wants, she is the reason of his existance. He is a kind soul. I definitely think both men love Ziao Yao, but for the kind of life that Ziao Yao wants to share with the person can only be TSJ and Xiang Liu knew all along.

If this drama weren't divided into 2 parts but aired all in one go, I would not have complained about season 2 lacking in pacing or content as I did after having watched the first 10 episodes or so of season 2. As it is, I finished watching the last 5 episodes of season 2 in one session earlier today , and I turned off the streaming feeling loss and sad because the drama has finished but also with appreciation and love for how the project has kept the essence of a great story despite changes and semplifications. The Important, meaningful dialogues in the book remain intact in the drama and the cast delivered them with mastery and great performance. It is a shame that the drama is aired in 2 parts with a gap of a year in between, the story and the cast deserve better.

I see that , the nomination was for season one of lost you forever, not season 2. I love season one and she deserves the nomination. Season 2, no.

you reckon? I saw two names as screenplay writers while Tong Hua is is the author. in any case, the adaption in season 2 is disappointing.

Just watched the clip posted on Twitter that shows Cang Xuan asking Xin Yue (the queen) if she arranged to have Tushan Jing assassinated, she replied saying yes. So the leaked narrative of Cang Zuan was in an induced hullucination by his grandfather the King of Xiyan is real, he isn't the one who arranged to eliminate Tushan Jing in the drama after all. This is the game changer of the story we know of in the book, the book said he was the one who arranged for the assassination together with Tushan Hou (brother), and it is plausible, much more so than Xin Yue killing Tushan Jing as rewritten in the screenplay by the two screenplay writers, wonder what the book author said to them whe she found out. I can understand the production wanted to safe time and money needed to shoot the various attempts of assassination by Xin Yue of XY as described in the book , and for this same reason they made such a poor shooting of the scene of the fight between Tushan Jing and his brother on the cliff, and turning Fangfeng Yi Ying into a superwoman eliminating the entire assassination team sent by the queen just in words. All in all, season 2 does not do season 1 justice, why on earth the production made such a poor production and commercial choice in the latter part of the drama? I have heard many commercials dropped out in the course of season 2, and complaints of the current storyline from viewers are many, I myself am disappointed with season 2, it evokes no excitment in me but a sense of disatisfaction and feeling sorry for the cast who delivered such great performance.

I would even say they should air the remaining episodes in one session and get it over with, there is really no point to drag on , season 2 has less episodes and it is far less engaging as in season 1, the pacing is off, really there is so little going on in season 2.

May be if season 2 had gone on air right after season 1 then I would feel differently, but a year passed since s1 was aired and now with s2, I can't help but to fee lt lacks the excitment and pacing in s1, are there different directors, different editors and even different screenplay writers for s1 and s2? Is it because I read the book and my expectations for s2 were high? Something is off in season 2, and I don't think I am the only one feeling it as the Douban rating for S2 is 6.6, while s1 is 7.6.

Episodes 19 and 20 should go on air tomorrow leaving only 3 more episodes to go. Would Tencent put episodes 21,22, and 23 in an express package by end this week ? I wonder.

Indeed, I don't want ambiguities in drama endings in general and I especially wanted a clear and well described happy ending for this drama, it was produced and directed with great pacing and clarity from day one so why messing up the ending in the last minute? Why put us viewers to have to work out the ending ourselves when all they had the do is to end the drama properly in the last 10 minutes or so. Anyway, the cast delivered great performance, and I look forward to seeing the leads in other projects.

Indeed very good quality, I wouldn't worry too much about it saying 30 episodes, it should just be an oversight, no straming platform would cut10 episodes, let alone a paid one.

Watched all episodes as soon as they were aired, express package and the lot. Since I stil couldn't stay away from it, I clicked and watched nearly all videos of this drama made by bloggers in youtube, they made up stories of their own and I watched them all as the next best thing. I came across just now a review by "cdrama invasion" in youtube and found her comments matching 100% to my thoughts. She wished if more were explained about the final battle, how the male lead pulled off victorious (he did not die, the drama has a HE as the producer eagerly stated in a weibo post, after a video clip was leaked showing him actually got knifed spilling blood. The producer went on to explain in the post that scene was shot but put aside, not meant to be aired, he demanded who uploaded the clip to be fired). I wish the bodyguards didn't die in the drama, the book has them well and alive, same as I wish the producer and director would have given us a proper ending with the same clarity given upto 15 minutes before the ending. I am just not satisfied with the female lead standing beside the tree and a horseman riding towards her with her jade pnedant in god knows when and how.
