We will endure as long as it all ends well. If it doesn't, then that will be heartbreak and I will be so upset.

This is indeed one of the best dramas in the recent years in all aspects. Btw, I watched a bit of Love game in eastern fantasy to kill time, but I soon left. It is just not it, neither the story nor the cast convinced me. I may be judgemental, but Esther Yu is just too superficial in her acting, and so so self conscious of her looks in front of the camera, plus her voice and her heavy makeup put me off. Zhao Lusi on the other hand Is a true professional, she gives all she has in her acting and stays true to the character she plays.

Yes, netflix here on Nov.16, too. The thing with netflix is they start late and upload slow, it takes a long time for them to finish the entire series. But yes I shall check in on Netflix too when it arrives if only to contribute to viewership of Chinese dramas in this platform.

you are more courageous than me, I could watch ep 17 since I have tvod access, but I refrained myself from going into it as I presume it is a prelude to some bad happenings, I'll wait for a few more episodes when hopefully things will start to take a better turn.. I know, I am silly, right? 🧐

Title The Story of Pearl Girl Spoiler
i feel conflicted, I want so much to see the next two episodes in which the female lead saves the male lead and get away, joining others in one happy place (trailers show as much), but after this, heartbreaks, death will soon follow (trailers say so too), oh dear, what a dilemma!!

Every time Cui Shi Jiu shows up on screen, I can't help but fast-forward to the next scene or watch at 1.5x speed.…
She does always have the same anguish look on her face, and the voice too.

very moving indeed, he is great there. what a shame this scene is reduced, edited to the minimum, both in dialog,…
I would have kept this scene but cut some other less touching aired prior to this, there were some, I'd say.

This is so good, I can’t seem to find anything that holds my interest long enough, so I’ve gone back to watch…
I am doing the same too,! I did try a few new dramas (the two mentioned above incl.) , but they just didn't stick, their stories, the cast pale in front of The Pearl Girl, so I ended up in rewatching the early episodes, waiting for the new ones to come the day after.

I feel like Youku really bad at promotion
youku cannot spend like Tencent or Iqiyi, but often time I find myself Iogging into youku app more often than I do with Tencent etc for some good dramas. When a drama a good, public opinions are the most effective publicity.

Hmmm lusi just confirmed HE on live broadcast though
I do hope he won't be another Allen Ren who dies 7 out of 10 dramas... Besides ,this storyline doesn't really require a BE, right?

Well said, a drama directed, produced and acted upon in the best and detailed way possible. All characters have their say, the space to shine and to develop. The plots enriched by interactions between the cast, the dialogs, the settings the cinematography all come together to deliver one of the finest productions in the recent years. What a treat!

I don't have yr patience, much as I'd love to watch all the episodes in one go. As to yr question about likes and dislikes, in all honesty, there is nothing I dislike in this drama and I like everything about it, the production quality, the settings, the story, the cast. I am holding my breath for a HE, I want, I demand (lol) the happiest ending!!!
