From the pre-release, love2 the camera works so far. It has a lil bit comedic element, the political plots are also giving. Plus the romance seems sooo prmising & they showed soo much chemistry from the trailer. Im excited and surprised that Yoona & LCM visuals really compliments each other. & the manly vibes LCM really suits Yoona & its time Yoona is paired with more manly male lead.

Agree with you on the family dynamic when its the drive of her major plot. They only gave a glimpse of her mother's grieve scene, his father drive etc. That's why its hard to take the character seriously whent he major plot as what cause her to be the "Female General' was her family.
True on the point its just seems that it focuses mostly on her feelings with the ML when the major part should be her grieve and sufefring and the motivation for her to take back her place. Instead she just happy women who doesnt align with the whole potrayal of her story.
Its actually a quite bad directing and scripwriting tbh. The premise had BIG potential. Cdrama are good in this kind of execution but kinda weird this drama failed to do as simple as showing the root of the plot.
I'm in ep 15, but I hope it has better directing and scriptwriting of the FL backstory. Cause we dont see much of her struggle to use it as the premise of her journey to regain her title as a general. The plot was presented just as it was, with little thought given to her backstory, ie suffering and struggles, even with ML's story. This left me emotionally unengaged in her journey, which is the main element of this drama. Her "simple" non-complex portrayal of character, even cheerful at the beginning of the drama, with the cute face(is it the actress?) despite the actually tragic suffering she'd toe ndured since child, makes no sense to me, BUT I do enjoy the drama overall & the plots have a good premise.

Okay, my first watch with the ML is the ongoing legend of the female general, and this guy seriously has A LOT of potential among all current cdrama actors. He is one of the actors who exuded masculine vibes that many popular current cdramas lacked.
I can't imagine his character here, & it seems he has lots of character development. And the obsession ML has with his condition in this drama is something I look forward to. This will be fire, my god!
This is one of the best Fan Zhi Xin. IFan Zhi Xin can bring such a romantic character and he' super good in it. This drama delivered the emotions throughout the eps. I felt the melo and the romance, the soundtrack is also nice. Also love the FL

Hate it even more when they tried to make some romance plot. Its actually proven that this is how American proaganda works, picturing their army as heroes and the native as terrorist when these these people just want to get the oil in these lands. Its an indoctrinastion that Iraq war it to help the "world peace"

Korea sends its army to help the USA in the Iraq War and the Vietnam War. This is quite normal but has never been highlighted by the Koreans. They will see this as heroic attempts lol.
Loving it and such a good drama with good actions scenecs but i kinda dislike the way movies/dramas depict the so-called war veteran who was involved in war crime against other country. Maybe not so much in this one since it deals with different plots and his post-trauma (in eps 4), but reminds me of American movie propaganda glorifying their so-called Iraq wars, killing so-called 'child soldiers' when they committed heinous crimes against other countries. The veteran/retired soldier is seen as a hero who suffered PTSD from the war, saving the world, etc, when they killed people while those who defend their countries are "terrorists". How about those who defended their countries & had to carry a gun at a young age to protect the sovereignty from these invaders? This doesn't sit well with what's happening in the world atm, but I believe this drama handles the plot differently. Its still a good drama tho & Kim Nam Gil such a good actor
Whover had experinced heartbreak in real life- this drama depicts every physhologial aspects of it.The grieving esp how our heart dealt with 2nd heartbreak. The plot is soo deep and raw with emotions. Flaw in characters are what is it. that's life.
Song Kang is such eye candy, but god-he has to enter more acting lessons cause many new emerging artists at his age range have more appeal and talent than he does. He reminds me a lot of Lee Min Ho, but LMH, despite his questionable projects, can still express his emotions via his eyes (micro expression), even though he wasn't 'the best' actor during his peak.
I love the FL and the plot is good but the ML seriously cant act my gawddddd. He's expression was the same throughout the story, he felt empty as an actor (like flat, no colour?) & 1st time I feel this on ML in tons of cdrama ive watched. Being a cold charcater would be the easiet one but he failed to even move his eyebrow and express thorugh his eyes ie micro expression which needed in this type of 'cold' charcater. I was soo frustrated with his acting when the FL put a lot of efforts in her charcater. Overall, the FL realy bring this drama alive.
