Its just biased towards women when many women ate up when male is older lol. Surprisingly, it's rarely an issue among people when this happens. This just showed how society puts women's values on their age. The FL is not even that old, and the ML is not even that young tbh.

Yes, that's the smart part on the directing of the drama, making both of them at loose ends & establised clearly in the early part of the drama ie FL knew she's in danger, under the control tyrant king known hostorically but needs to go back to her past. Meanwhile ML is tyrant with many underlying secrets yet to be revealed yet showed interest towards the FL. The intensity already here in 1-2 eps.
But, they still wont be establishing their romance at the eraly phase & this is where the push & pull comes ie the passion & spark played.
This is actually a classic formula of older kdramas but director nowdays are not good with it but for this drama, the director was known with good saeguk so it makes sense. Romance genre does need an angst & whatmore saeguk, it should be part of the plot. Cdrama able to rise above kdrama nowadays was one of the factor is they kept this kind of plot in their romance wuxia/xinxia.
You know this feeling of watching kdrama romance; passion, drive, the spark that made you excited for the next eps(red sleeve, moon embrace the sun etc)? This is it. I felt this with older drama cause newer romance kdrama rarely good with romance genre anymore. My god, their chemistry & intensity is sizzling without doing anything! The leads just bickering, not touching or anything but can feel the sparks.
Plus, the whole political plot surely guarantee an angst which is a need for good romance esp saeguk genre. I can see how serious was the director in picking each cast even the small role & the script even with small role is good & purposefull. Now, i just need to complete the whole eps cause the waiting is killing me.
I want to also appreciate the cast esp the girl friend of FL cause from her past projects, that actress could really make you cry a river. She’s not just funny compliments the FL comedic aspect but she will literally cary the angst part when she knew the FL will leave or even making her died in the end.

I already felt the intensity of the politics, the passion of her in cooking & the yearning of the king also delivered crazy good & his yearning will be intense. & Yoona, Ive got to apprecite her efforts in elarning to cooks for this drama & she's super compatible with LCM. The camera works is also good.
Wow what a solid plot. The premise of the story is crazy good and keeps me going. The foundation of their relationship is also interesting. Love the story of the ML and every scenes are interesting/different. And the way they used him and his clan, cannibal tbh
At this point, I just want her to rest and slowly retire while resolving her problems and getting back what she deserves. It must be tiring for her to handle all this...
