I still can get into romance part and can't stand all female rival characters and their portrayal. Only Dong…
I think @namopanik 's concern is the typical trope of jealous female. Xuan Nu is not a love rival for Ye Hua's love, but she is with Li Jing. Her antagonistic actions are still motivated by jealousy even if not for the same person

I also don't like how females (except the female lead & Ghost Princess) are portrayed here- as jealous, clingy, etc. My only explanation is since this story is a cycle of love tragedy with many obstacles the OTP has to overcome that's what their purpose is. Some characters literally serve no purpose other than to oogle at the Crown Prince which is kinda annoying, at least Su Jin (the main love rival) is a plot device in other ways. Dunno if it's because the OTP are two of the most powerful Gods that nobody can actually harm them, hence why jealousy is the only motivation for these characters to take action against them. The drama merely follows the book and this is what is written of them. I'd like to think if an author was any good- they wouldn't take others' ideas as their own, and come up with more than your typical trope of jealous females 10x.
I also think the story/drama wants to highlight that despite the heavenly immortals/gods are generally considered "holier than thou" than human beings, or other creatures such as the Demon realm - they are not. I don't know how far along you are in the drama, but for example the Demon Princess despite being a "Demon" is much more morally upright compared to anyone from heaven.

Honestly with the amount of characters in this drama maybe only one or two females are actually likable and the rest are conniving. Lol and don't force yourself to like it - there's 58 eps and you may find it a waste of your time if you still can't get into it many eps later
Princess Wei Young more like 50 ways to frame Wei young, and I blame everything on Wei Young, oh and btw her real…
The repetitiveness made me roll my eyes, and I can't help but feel writers got extremely lazy and even certain lapses in logic. To sum up the series it's literally framing Weiyoung x10, and seeing how Weiyoung gets herself out of trouble. It no longer became a tale of retribution or Weiyoung serving sweet justice, but how "resilient" she is -and then everyone commending her for how smart she is blah blah. It was actually good up until episode 34. And I wish the rest didn't happen, or needed serious re-writing.
Wanted to watch this, but the reviews and comments are giving me second thoughts. Sounds like it was a great drama…
Huang Xuan isn't exactly likable in Imperial Doctress but that's more to do with his character lol. Not because he's an antagonist - sometimes villains are some of my favorite characters, but the change of his character was so drastic and made no sense. You'll see what I mean lol. I'd like to see him in another romance as well
The amount of fake accounts and fake comments here are hillariously sad
I'm not doubting your concerns or that it happens. Your first comment just came across as accusatory? and no I haven't actually checked out some of these profiles so I guess I didn't see where you were coming from or how valid they were

Kinda harsh to call the users or good comments here fake just because you don't agree with it ...:/ unless you're talking about those who said they signed up just so they can talk about/rate this drama

I like Huang Xuan for those same reasons and will watch anything he's in. I can't wait for his new drama Tribes and Empires. As much as I like him, there is not a single drama of his I liked or committed to the end. The closest was Imperial Doctress but his character made me boil lol
So disappointed in this drama, the novel was amazing had so much expectation at first but then this drama just…
Tell me about it! I was genuinely happy when they first announced the airing of this drama, FINALLY we're gonna see a female lead who is described as very plain but her brains is what made a man much more beautiful than her fall heads over heels for her, just to be given some overused drama trope about childhood love. Sigh
They took a GREAT novel and turned it into wasted potential

No it's not just you. Anyone with any expectations for acting will think she's terrible - though she did improve and wasn't all terrible 62 episodes later. She is breathtaking tho - which isn't what Bai Pingting is supposed to be in the novel/manhua.
