The end so bad.. Nunca me decepcionei tanto em um final como esse, nada de casamento, cerimonia, esperei tanto…
Ahah I was totally looking forward to more too ! But since the one in the novel was so lame (it ended with YH saying "Qian Qian come here") I thought what we have here was much better :P
Yes there should be a Pillow Book drama about Dong Hua-Feng Jiu, but it's bought by another production company so the actors here won't be back. They're still in the casting process, but the rumored prospects aren't very appealing .. Jiro Wang/Kris Wu as Dong Hua LOL.

The ending is actually much better than the one in the book, excluding the epilogue. It's a happy ending. The marriage doesn't take place until the sequel "The Pillow Book" about Dong Hua and Feng Jiu, but because they lack production rights they can't include it in the drama.
For anyone interested in this show, please keep several things in mind: 1. Like any highly rated show, it may…
Same here. I never planned to watch this, and the trailers/teasers didn't exactly pull me in. But then it ended up being this HUGE pleasant surprise and I ended up even picking up on the novel.
One of those dramas that I thanked myself for giving it a chance, cause it's now my favorite Chinese drama ever.
Wanted to watch this, but the reviews and comments are giving me second thoughts. Sounds like it was a great drama…
Tbh Vengo isn't the greatest actor, but he made it work for Dijun so I can only say he pulled off that character well.
I just like Huang Xuan's modest rise to fame. He isn't the most dashing of actors, but truly built himself from good performances in supporting roles before getting main ones. And this is one of this first lead roles, too bad the show became such a wreck (though not the actors' fault from what I'm hearing).
I remember watching a clip of fans' surprise bday celebration for him and he cried because he never regarded or imagined himself to be a popular actor with fans, nor did he go into acting to become famous. To this day he still isn't comfortable with being a public figure and prefers to stay out of the limelight if possible, especially when not in a project.
For anyone interested in this show, please keep several things in mind:
1. Like any highly rated show, it may or may not appeal to you depending on your tastes and expectations with dramas. Just because the show has a 9.1 doesn't mean you HAVE to like it.
2. This is a fantasy romance in a historical setting. However fantasy and Chinese mythology serves only to be a framework here, not the central element. Romance is the central focus here, and lots of it to your heart's content though it does not come right away.
3. The first 10 episodes are merely an introduction to the characters, different worlds/realms and provide an important backdrop to the events here. Some may find this part confusing or lacking in the romance they were so hoping to see. Good news: It is NOT the heart of the story, BUT it allows everything to make sense or gel together.
Anyone wondering or don't get the big deal based on the first few episodes - the show may or may not wow you at first but it truly develops into this gem. Personally, the beginning was a fun watch for me and though intrigued, I was nowhere near crazy for it. Once the story hits its stride, however that completely changed and it was hard to let go. Before I knew it I was already and completely hooked.
If you plan to keep watching to see what it is that everyone is raving about, I can promise you will be HIGHLY rewarded for what's to come later.

Huang Xuan is why I'm even remotely interested. I also see Vengo here but doesn't seem to be he's getting that Dijun love here. Gonna give this a go since the first half sounded so promising from what I'm gathering then stop at ep 20 like you suggested, though I have a tendency to not look away to see how a trainwreck unfolds. Thanks!
With all the love for Wallace Chung, I honestly fail to see the appeal - looks or acting wise. At least in this piece of work. Drama was way too try hard for me I laughed at moments where they think it'd be cool. If Wallace Chung is a much better actor than this i'd imagine he probably want to scrap this from his memory. Wish there's a cardinal rule to punish actors/actresses and productions for putting audiences thru that many eps of crap/craptastic acting, by making them watch and reflect on the trainwreck they contributed to, before they're allowed to do another project.
One of the best ch dramas i've watched. Now, I want to rewatch it ugh I want more! When can we have the continuation…
If not for Dilraba I think Feng Jiu would be even more annoying in this drama. The hardest thing to let go is we know for sure their chemistry is a formula for magic :( pretty hard to top their visuals/visual chemistry too as they're both hella looking

Ah thanks for the info and clarification! Truly hope productions will learn better to not get involved with plagiarized works or other questionable creative outlets from now on. Kinda lame they chose a plagiarized novel to work with, as much as I loved the drama/story to bits
If not Dilraba-Vengo for the PB adaptation, which other actor/actress would you like to see cast as FJ and DH?

Ahh that shucks :( my understanding of this situation is very limited based merely from comments from other blogs or sites in English since I can't read Chinese lol. Yea it's definitely more of a production ethical concern than actors imo. Not sure how true this is but read somewhere that the production team acknowledged the original author (of the BL novel) in their creds - something Tang Qi herself didn't even do Geeez this author! Makes me almost wanna not look forward to her 4th spinoff about my beloved Mo Yuan & his happy ending:(
Gonna let others test the waters first before I dive into the PB adaptation :P it would be pretty amazing if the director for Eternal Love is somehow back behind PB adaptation !

Didn't read the Pillow Book and also heard it's not as good/interesting, but at least it's not accused of plagiarism from what I know (except for Dijun's char). Me thinks the Pillow Book will be adapted eventually 'cause the rights already been bought, and hopefully she doesn't plan to cast herself or Jiro as FJ/DH lol.
I think it's ridiculous to give the actors backlash for doing their jobs. From what I know the plagiarism claims for Eternal Love came out AFTER the show was already undergoing production. Sucks that it's plagiarized but I don't think the actors foresaw it coming when they signed on

Speaking of Pillow Book adaptation I am not excited about the rumored prospects of Jiro Wang or Kris Wu and the spoiled princess/10th prince's wife in BBJX as the OTP :( A big no especially to the latter. Too bad the production rights is held by her as she owns the company and most likely will cast herself as the female lead lol
Ah Visual kei my new love!! I am literally just getting into the genre after discovering some bands who lend their voices to anime soundtrack that I love
Just finished the last of the episodes on dramafever!! What a great drama and ride this was. This (and sound of…
I rewatched this on Dramafever as well and this is just emotional and beautiful all the way<3 Seriously this drama ruined others for me, I haven't been able to get into other ones right now. I think I'm thirsty for more historical/fantasy after this and I usually don't like fantasy.
Some upcoming (historical) Chinese dramas I'm looking forward to is Princess Agents and Love Lost In Time. Love Lost In Time only because the amazing director from Eternal Love is directing this project, and to a lesser degree Liu Shi Shi. Zhang Bin Bin and Dilraba will also be headlining their own drama "The King's Woman" but that won't be til next year :(
