after watching ep51, my heart hurt for Mo Yuan :'( He promised to wake up because he didn't want to…
Bai Qian is dense when it comes to her own feelings of love. Didn't even realize she loved Ye Hua until he made her look deep into herself after all he did for her. Once her heart is set she loves for life so there's no turning back or chance for MY anymore. If only he confessed 70,000 years ago AND made Bai Qian realize there could be something more, then it's YH not him that would be suffering lol. But yea we'll never know cause fate is not on their side
It's far from a masterpiece, but this is getting way more flack than it deserves. Matt Damon as a white hero saving China is a MISCONCEPTION, and not the message of the movie at all. He's merely thrown in there for relevance to attract Western audiences, but that's about it. Impressive action and entertainment, and should be looked at it that way.
so many episodes. I don't know if I can do this but I wanna. though I am also not that big of a fan of historical…
I understand it's not a drama for everyone but exceptions can be made for this one just because it's that good! Recommend trying the first few eps. I had zero interest to start, but each ep kept me going and before I knew it I was addicted and even read the novel
The main leads had a happy ending, but I still feel like the ending wasn't very satisfying. They could have…
Wasn't as satisfying as it can be considering we know they are engaged but they did follow the novel's ending, as they have with the book for the entire series. Still more satisfying than the book's tho which ended abruptly with "come here Qian Qian" BUT I wished they included the epilogue with the second baby along the way and Ali's tantrum.
As for Yan Zi and 16th - yessss Yan Zhi deserved SO much more :( one of the few likable females in this drama that is not annoying or desperate. So sad they (more like 16th) couldn't get past the stigma of Celestial-Demon love :( but considering the health complications of celestial-demon offspring like Xuan Nu's previously dead child guess they decided not to go there. Also I think they wanna show Kunlun disciples are strictly loyal to MY and their sect/clan, even more than matters of their heart. After all the Celestials are a rigid group bound by rules and discipline.
Since the main OTP actually has a happy ending here unlike most Chinese dramas, someone else has to suffer lol. None of the secondary pairings here have a happy ending, and even the main couple isn't as satisfying as it can get lol.
About time an article was written for this wonderful drama!! Couldn't have hit the love button faster seeing this gem on the front page <3
I don't think I've ever loved a drama as much as this one - it certainly is one of the best directed, best acted (especially Mark Chao) and without a doubt the best drama adaptation of a novel I've ever seen. It's even better than the book.
Chen Kun AND Ni Ni???! Sign me up!! Holy crap this sounds GOOD. Please do this right, given an excellent novel, and two gorgeous talents to work with. Hope this becomes a hit.
Also Chen Kun is one Chinese actor I absolutely miss watching on the small screen
Sweet movie. A bit slow at first, but worth it. It has a few twists that you dont see coming. Make sure to watch…
I saw your comment before watching, so I made sure to watch the credits. Just when I thought I stopped crying. The floodgates were back on again. It was a nice touch.
Damn this sounds like some Lord of the Flies thing going on. Intrigued, but the reviews and comments are giving me second thoughts. Nevermind the ending, is it overall worth watching ?
Another question: why for Yehua, his trial was thunderbolt and lightning in order to ascend to godhood, but for…
The only High Gods in the drama are Mo Yuan, Dong Hua Dijun, Zhe Yan, BQ's parents, Bai Zhen (BQ's 4th brother), BQ's 2nd brother (Feng Jiu's dad), and of course Bai Qian. (Also Yao Guang the female goddess obsessed with MY in the beginning). Everyone else is either immortals, high immortals or Gods. There is a hierarchy.
Qing Qiu having so many High Gods (5 from one ruling family) is the reason why they are so respected by all realms despite being foxes. Not even the Heaven Realm has as many
One thing I don't understand... Is the lotus spirit the true love of BQ/Susu reborn as The Crown Prince?…
@emmsssyyyy gave a good rundown. Adding on to what was said. Ye Hua as the soul in the golden lotus was never able to materialize into physical form until Mo Yuan died. His death dissipated his energy, allowing YH to be born.

Bai Qian also had to undergo a thunderbolt trial to ascend. If you recall in episode 2, Mo Yuan her master actually took those bolts for her out of his love for her, but she actually ascended to Godhood then. The suffering as a mortal she had to undergo was a love/character trial to ascend to High God status. Only very few in the world are chosen to be High God or Goddess, even Ye Hua is not a High God and according to BQ if they were to be all literal with it he has to pay his proper respects to her.
