Having seen Zhang Vin as KO in 'Love O2O' and as Yi Mu in 'Pretty Li Hui Zhen' I am already…
@Trouble-chan Dropped Love O2O because I didn't like the leads (Zheng Shuang can't act/Yang Yang disappointing) but soo tempted to pick it up again for Zhang Vin as I keep hearing great things about him there:P
Seems like many ppl find him so charismatic they wish he was cast as the male lead here instead XD (not that Mark Chao is bad, but they cant get enough of Zhang Vin lol)
Okay, I casually started watching this with low expectations. BUT DAMN AM I ENJOYING THIS. Yea okay, the CGI is…
Yeah that makes sense, no way China would've broadcasted the original story with its abundance of BL content. Honestly the drama makes 4th brother look like some kind of asexual pretty boy and Zhe Yan some randomly helpful relative.
Had no idea the original Demon Lord is such a romantic XD here he's just a mass murderer who wants to wipe out the God clan. I also thought he took a liking to Ling Yu (or 9th disciple as he's called in drama ver) because he's everything he wished his second son would be, but if anything was trying to convert him to the dark side/use him to turn against Mo Yuan. .
And too bad about Si Yin/Bai Qian and Li Jing. But guess it needs to move on for the OTP storyline. Hope Li Jing has a bigger role than just breaking Bai Qian's heart, though.

Oh wow, wish they didn't change that at all. That is WAY better than what the drama came up with. Like it was no fun he could tell she was a woman pretty much right away in the drama. SO much better if he was conflicted about his feelings for Si Yin thinking she's a male, but loves her as a person enough hence their mutual relationship, yet in the end he let seduction by a woman (who looks like Si Yin) get the best of him. Then the way he found out Si Yin is a woman in the novel and what a fool he is, I find it so much more impactful.
Will there be more interactions between them beyond the first lifetime? I really enjoy their scenes and chemistry together lol
Zhang bin and Dilmurat Dilraba will be the protagonists of The King's Woman, my otp may become real in another…
In Peach Blossoms, they have no storyline together. So this pairing will have to wait for the King's woman (tho Zhang Vin's character might be the "second lead" in love again lol)

I wish they didn't change the Li Jing and Si Yin storyline! Does her ever find out Si Yin is a female and does he still love her after? or is Li Jing supposed to be gay? Him cheating on Si Yin in the drama version pretty much kills the ship unlike the novel, tho it's obvious they won't be the main couple.
The golden lotus flower instead of egg also makes things bit confusing. So many comments from novel readers that the changes in sequence makes the drama less intriguing, but I wonder if it makes the drama easier to follow for those who haven't read it.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown, Keikin! Btw you might want to tag the comment as a spoiler for others who aren't ready for it XD
So pretty and I like her most among recent younger C-actresses. Omg three collabs with Zhang Vin and apparently they have great chemistry. They should get together !
I hate that he cheated on her, but is there more interactions of them beyond the first 10 eps (guessing that's the first lifetime)? Never read the novel, but I am REALLY liking his char.

Real easy to watch so far (minus crappy CGI) pretty much marathon'd eight episodes in one go, and Yang Mi has good chemistry with both Mark Chao and Zhang Vin from what I see.
For those who have read the novel and has started this, how similar/different does it compare so far?

This is my first Zhang Vin drama. But boy basically stole my attention in his first scene. Not only is he hella pretty to look at, but his eyes do all the talking when he acts. I think I'm becoming a fan.
Go ahead, and watch it for him. You will not be disappointed
This drama starts slow and even unrealistic, but I much prefer this to dramas with great starts that get repetitive or worsen as show goes on (eg: Princess Weiyoung). Thankfully this gets better, and the chemistry is finally coming together and AB acting is a lot better compared to the beginning. Wallace Chung is the real star of this drama though
