I really like all 3 leads, but for some reason don't care for either ship. There just isn't much sparks and I agree with all the comments that Moo Myung is better off as the brother Ah Ro was missing in her life
Is it just me but the writers sure handle sibling affairs in a weird way. IMO if they want to create a romantic storyline out of "sibling love" for the leads then they should've approached this route much differently... seeing her all confused about her feelings while still believing he's her real brother was just weird. Then there's Soo Ho's sister who apparently gropes her 'brother's butt for fun like it's nothing -.-'' getting a lil too close here are we?
Okay I have to admit the chemistry DOES get better and so does AB (not sure if I'm just used to her or what). Perhaps I have long accepted the fact that they've taken liberties from the novel, but the drama plot itself isn't all that bad.
I know Angelababy has improved but her acting takes a toll on the relationship/chemistry and drama. She isn't convincing because all she does is blank stare intensely. The production, filming and casting all seems to be good, and they picked up on a GREAT novel to work with but sadly bringing in AB has the opposite effect of what they intend to do. People may be tuning in for her at first but can only take so much of her crappy acting. Thankfully people might just stick around for Wallace Chung and how beautifully done everything else is
Anyone know how the ratings/reactions is faring in China??
Thanks! From what I can understand Chinese viewers seem to have a love/hate relationship with this drama ...adore Wallace Chung but won't give AB's acting a break (not that I disagree)
I'm really disappointed in the series. :( I don't feel they developed the characters enough, let alone…
To be fair in the novel he falls for her pretty quick too. Their romance seems to have a backstory to it, but better chemistry would've made more sense of it..or the very least, more smooth.
I'm not feeling the chemistry between the two leads :( I liked the novel so I hope this improves
Agreeed :( Such a shame cause no matter how everything else is done right - it wouldn't matter if chemistry is not there, and just not feeling anything for them at this point.(Ironically, there seemed to be more sparks between her and Sean Sun than WC.) Sadly I feared this would happen because of her (lack of ) acting skills, despite the immense potential of this drama/story.
Still early so AB still has 50+ episodes to grow and develop their relationship and chemistry. I really like this so far despite the lack of OTP magic, so hope they can make it work
I have to say this show has exceeded my expectations so far especially for a drama adaptation of a novel, there are differences but the drama is really exciting and packed with action + politics. I hope Bai Pingting continues to slay and be brainy. My only complaint is I hope the chemistry between OTP gets better, because everything else has been on point.
Saw this on the front page, and thought right away "Dounie must have written this!". I adore Ariel and she is one of those actresses that turns anything she's in into gold. Like most I first noticed Ariel from It Started With a Kiss, and knew this girl was gonna go very far because she is simply great at making the audience feel and connect with what her character is going through. My favorite work from her is Prince of Lan Ling, and that is one of those dramas I can rewatch again and again because she makes the show:) Thank you for this wonderful piece on Ariel <3
I bet this will be a tragedy-.- I'm still reeling over SHR:/ I'll try to endure this drama,it does look…
For the manhua readers, sadly I heard that the publishing company went out of business so it will be unfinished business unless another publisher picks it up
It has only been the first few episodes, which could barely allow anyone to judge the quality of the drama yet,…
Dunno why but multiple spam accounts have been popping up to raise the ratings of recent Chinese dramas. Let the quality of the dramas speak for itself, goddamnit
What's with these super long ass Chinese dramas recently -.-'' I already feel skeptical starting anything over 40 episodes, but 90 is just batshit insane and I thought I was mental for actually finishing Empress of China (the only other C-drama with 90 episodes but with enough lavish costumes/sets to keep things interesting)
