Can someone please explain to me why this drama is categorized as xuanhuan not xianxia?
As far as I know, the difference between xianxia and xuanhuan is that Xianxia elements are inherently from Chinese/Eastern mythology, which involves supernatural abilities like flying, use of magic, and achieving immortality. Meanwhile, Xuanhuan is a combination of Xianxia, Wuxia and/or other fantasy or sci-fi elements (which means it could be a mix of Chinese and Western mythology).
The main goal of the population in a Xianxia is spiritual cultivation (from the Taoism belief) and seeking eternal life. In Xuanhuan, there could be a cultivation system too but the powers could also be gained arbitrarily. This explains why obtaining Heavenly Grief just somehow awakens Ji Bo Zai's spiritual veins that he was finally able to cultivate.
Another point to note is that Xianxia takes place in a world analogous to ancient China, but Xuanhuan takes place in a completely fictional, often a totally different world (not Earth-based). The main goal of the population in LITC is to get the Blessed Rain that is the source of energy of all beings, but in Xianxia, energy is obtained in the nature. It also shows how LITC is set in a different world where it has its own rules.
I'm still on Ep6. The first few episodes were quite frustrating to watch due to the way Xiang Yun acts. I just can't get used to her character at some point, and I'm not even someone who's easily bothered with FLs like her. She constantly pushes Chang Kong off in the Mortal Realm, like yes it's understandable given by their original identities that only she remembers but it still looks like she doesn't think before doing things oftentimes, so it's difficult to relate with her even if I wanted to. The writers didn't do Xiang Yun's character justice, I hope she will have a character growth as soon as possible. I'm still giving this show a chance.

Me too. And in the second part of the story, her demeanor gradually changed from young playful maiden to a mature and wise lady. Her character growth is evident throughout the show, and it's one of the reasons why this is still one of my top dramas of all times. I still remember how the ending literally made me cry every night for a week.
On Ep32, I'm kinda sad that Cheng Yang's kind and naive character slowly dissipated because of what happened to his father and brother, but also glad that he's now more open to growth and will surely be able to see the true colors of his Zhuang family. I would love to see him as a wise ruler.
On the rock where MX (MY) stays in Yaoguang Mountain before, she wrote "一第下天" (yí dì xià tiān) which translates to "Ming Xian is the best" but when I tried to use a translator app, I just got confused because it also translates to "Day by day."
Then, when JBZ saw it, he added "獻明" (xiàn míng) at the end, making it 一第下天獻明. Now, it translates to "One by one, the heavens bring light." I find this translation meaningful, though I'm also not sure if it was a correct translation. Can anyone explain?

He might've not want MY to see that Fairy BYL's portrait reappeared (after burning) because the first minor reason might be, JBZ wants MY to believe the portrait doesn't exist anymore—so that she won't see the memories inside the portrait. After all, his sufferings as a new-born and how her master abandoned him were all shown in the portrait.
The second most possible reason (judging from his character and actions), is that he might be planning to sacrifice himself for the peace of all six realms (though I hope it won't cause his death 😭). Since he wants to stay away from MY and used his Spirit Well despite being aware that the Heavenly Grief would relapse, he seems to plan something that won't ensure his safety. Thus, he never told MY about it and even pushes her away and removed their stone-engraved names with the disguise of resenting his past. Or else, even though the latter is surely reasonable, I don't think JBZ's resentment would overshadow his love for her—it could only be the other way around. 🥹

MY didn't know that the only one who could enter the illusion is the Bo Clan descendants. Judgung by how they called her "Ming Xian," she only wondered how they knew her real name but even after asking that and the other questions, she didn't get an answer. So I suppose, her getting the GDM recipe was already enough for her that's why she looked past to it. Besides, she wasn't guarded against them because they're her "benefactor," and she knew how to trust people unlike JBZ.
So, Ming Yi's mom is Fairy Bo Yucen and not Bo Yulan.
In Ep25, when she got the recipe of Golden Millet Dream, Bo Yucen said her "only daughter" is the only remaining descendant of the Bo Clan now [23:14]. Meanwhile in Ep27, her Master only said "You are Fairy Bo's ..."
I've read in the comments before that Bo Yulan is the real mom of Ming Yi, but it turned out to be either just a bit confusion or maybe it was one of the changes in the novel.
