I like to watch behind the scenes of this drama. Pretty sure the actors and crew had some really funny moments…
The OST playlist from the series has been playing nonstop all day every day for weeks. The songs are some of the best I have ever heard in any show and I am honestly starting to fall in love with Cantonese 🫠

Hey! So the drama and the novel follow the same general story, but the timeline is handled quite differently.
In the novel, everything develops more slowly and over a longer period, especially the relationship. In the drama, things happen much faster, and some moments that come later in the novel are moved earlier.
There are also some changes. The drama adds a few scenes that do not exist in the novel, while some scenes from the novel are shown in a different way or happen under different circumstances.
For example, Chusan’s dream about the rooftop kiss does not exist in the novel. Also, in the novel, Chusan never kissed Liuyi while he was asleep on the day they went to his late sister’s an Azure Dragon's house. There are also many other changes like this, but it would take me a long time to list them all, and I probably would not remember everything anyway.
You should read the novel, it's a gem šŸ’›

I just finished it and I’m still trying to process the fact that the missing element for the antiviral drug was helium. Not that the rest of the series made much sense, but this completely broke me 🤣
I totally recommend it though, it was entertaining from start to finish.
A solid 8/10 from me.

Honestly, the show really does stand on its own so far, so I don’t think you’ll feel like you’re missing something even if it’s condensed. The only thing is that the timeline is quite different from the novel, so I genuinely can’t picture how they’re going to wrap everything up in the end. At this point it kind of feels like it might go for an open ending, based on the way it’s been unfolding.

It differs quite a bit from the novel, both in terms of events and timeline, but the series is honestly almost just as worth it. And from the way things are going, it looks like in the next two episodes they won’t even have covered half of the book. I really can’t think of any way they could fit even half of the remaining important events from the novel into just two episodes. So maybe they are planning a second season? I have no idea. There are rumors that there might be one, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet, and personally, unless I see an official announcement, I am not going to let myself get my hopes up. Still, I will say it again, the series is definitely worth watching. And that is coming from someone who absolutely loved the novel. I think I would have liked to see a more faithful adaptation, but even so, the series is so good that it would be a shame to miss it if you enjoyed the novel.

Please, put a spoiler tag, why ruin it for others?
So… unfortunately, I couldn’t find any of her other works in English. She hasn’t written many novels, and the only one that is well-known and translated is this one.

Yeah, out of all the translations of the novel I’ve found, this one is by far the best. It even includes explanations and everything. The people who worked on it did a really great job.
Unfortunately, I don’t know! It’s the first book of hers I’ve read, and I probably wouldn’t have even discovered it if it wasn’t for the series. But now that you mention it, I’ll definitely look into whether she has or any of her other works have been translated. If I find anything, I’ll send it to you!

I have to say though, especially with these kinds of dynamic couples, I would love to see them switch roles more often. Why does it always have to be one top and one bottom?
When I read that particular chapter from the extras, I was honestly shocked. But I absolutely loved that development.
I finished it about two weeks ago and now I’m rereading it. I’m completely hooked, it’s one of the best danmei novels I’ve read in recent years.
Also, on Wattpad not all the extra chapters are translated. I think there were four or five missing the last time I checked. Take a look here for the rest, especially the last one. It’s really good and includes the story of Xia Zheng Zhing and A Ying in an alternative universe.

I just finished the novel that someone translated on Wattpad, and it was such a fun ride. I cried, laughed, giggled…

Sure, that's a pretty good reason to skip a show... You make a good decision, it's surely not for you, you probably won't understand it 🤣

I’m sorry this is the hill you’re willing to die on. You’re missing a wonderful show.
My thoughts exactly. I can't understand what makes one more 'manly' than the other. They're both men, and it's not like Chusan looks 'feminine'. To be honest, I found that comment somewhat offensive.

Fair enough, it’s your call, but I’ve gotta say that’s probably the dumbest reason I’ve heard for skipping a show 😁

Right? I'm currently rereading it, can't get enough of their story, it had it all!

It's a cute drama, but nothing compares to Sammy's Children's Day imo. Very different though.
I personally don't mind. The story is set in Hong Kong, so it makes sense that it's dubbed in Cantonese, it's more accurate that way. It threw me off in the first episode, but the story was so good that I barely notice the dub now.
