can someone spoil CS/LY 1st kiss in novel? looks like it's different from the series?
It happens in Chusan’s house, right after Xia Liuyi discovers a hidden camera and countless photos of himself. In that moment, he realizes that Chusan has been secretly watching him all along. Xia Liuyi confronts him, but before he can fully react, He Chusan pulls him close and kisses him without warning. Xia Liuyi is completely shocked and freezes at first, not knowing how to react. For a brief moment, the kiss feels real and intense, but it quickly ends when Xia Liuyi snaps out of it and reacts with anger.

I get what you mean, and I think there’s a difference between fair criticism and just constant complaining. It’s totally valid to point out something you don’t like, like the dubbing, especially if it affects your viewing experience. But at some point, when it turns into repeated negativity, it kind of stops being helpful and just becomes tiring. From what you’re saying, it sounds like the issue might have been a bit exaggerated. And honestly, I had a similar experience, I expected it to be way more distracting than it actually was. Once you get into the story, you either don’t notice it as much or it works well enough most of the time. So yeah, I think your take is fair. There’s nothing wrong with sharing a more balanced perspective, especially if it helps others who might be hesitant for the same reason.

Honestly, I don’t get why people see him as a red flag, let alone a black flag. At most, I’d call him a bit of a yellow flag, and that’s only because later on he hides things from Liuyi and acts behind his back. But his intentions are always to protect him. He even risks his life for Liuyi multiple times. And I think people forget that Liuyi did the exact same thing from the start of their relationship, keeping things from him to protect him. I see their relationship as pretty green overall, they just go through a lot of messed up situations in their lives. Personally, I think Changxi portrays him really well. But since you like the series so much, it would be a shame not to read the novel. If you do decide to, though, I’d recommend starting it after the series ends. I’m really curious to see how they handle it in the show, especially since the timeline is quite different from the novel.
Started this yesterday on a whim and oh my god. Its SO good. Watched 3 episodes so far and i dont get why people…
People are always complaining about everything. Meanwhile, in this case, the dub is actually good, they just call it bad because it is in another language and they cannot even tell the difference. At the end of the day, it is part of the culture of Chinese cinema and television. Is this the first time they have watched a Chinese series? Dubbing has always been a thing there. I really do not understand why there is so much complaining.

Yeah, I hear you. On one hand, we can’t wait for the next episode, but on the other, we only have three episodes left 😞 Lately, I just can’t seem to get into anything other than BL, and I don’t even know why 😅 And as if that wasn’t enough, for the past few months I’ve been reading one danmei after another. By the way, this danmei, Chusan’s Children’s Day, is one of the best I’ve ever read and I’ve read a lot! I really love the series so far, but the novel is on a whole other level!
Dubbing is good its just not matching because actors speaking mandarin and they have low budget and have to show…
That’s true! I have to admit it felt a bit off to me at first too, but once I found out it’s because they’re basically speaking a different language, I realized they’ve actually done a really good job. And it seems like the dub works especially well for the second couple who speak Cantonese. You can barely tell there.

Haha, yeah, it’s been a while since we got a really good BL from Taiwan. But I’m enjoying shouting stars so far, each episode just keeps getting better. Episode 4 was super sweet, and the boys are slowly starting to open up and grow closer. That said, I’m currently completely obsessed with this series, Sammy’s CD, so I feel like I’m not appreciating anything else as much as I probably should. Unfortunately, that always happens to me when I get hooked on a story 😞

Unknown was such a gem for me, it’s easily in my top five BLs overall, and it’ll be hard for anything to top it. But I really hope I end up loving this one just as much, maybe even enough for it to match it. Either way, you’ve convinced me, I’ll start it as soon as I get the chance!
I kinda wish they went exactly like the novel... the novel was pretty dark and toxic. I think they would have…
Chusan is honestly one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever come across. I love how he’s so sweet, but at the same time such a sly little fox in the novel. And he's always so horny 🤭

I’d also love to see a faithful adaptation of the novel. I really love the series so far, but the novel was on another level. I actually started rereading it because I enjoyed it that much. That said, I don’t mind the differences between the series and the novel all that much, since they’ve done an excellent job here as well. The only thing that worries me is the possibility that they’ll leave it unfinished with the expectation of a second season. And from the way things are going so far, it seems like that’s where it’s heading…
