The comments and views are so different. I don't know if I should watch this or not :/
Maybe just give it a try and see if it's your thing? You'll definitely like it if you like melodramas and complex stories where the things get explained only eventually.
I actually had quite a strong love-hate relationship with this drama. There were episodes I really really enjoyed and there were episodes that literally made me want to fall asleep.
That being said, I think the reason for that is just the fact that I never got the feeling that, "oh wow, I like this", I think this drama just wasn't really my thing.
Acting-wise, Seo Inguk was outstanding. The other actors also did a very good job, and the plot was quite unique, imo.
One of the things I want to note, the whole thing sometimes seemed a little too unrealistic, like with how much money they were throwing around. Also the amount of the evil rich (or wannabe rich) men sometimes got annoying. :D
I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for quite an original and fun quality drama which is full of unpredictable twists and turns.
This is a very realistic drama about 5 (6) 20-year-olds trying to figure out their places in life. It is also quite light and fun to watch, but it touches quite a lot of serious topics.
During the drama I did get annoyed at some of the characters, I did sometimes have trouble understanding why they did what they did, but isn't it how it is in real life as well?
I do quite recommend you to watch this, especially if you enjoy dramas about friendships or if you like realistic dramas (about youth). Especially since it's so short, I doubt you will be wasting your time.
Things I liked: Lee Seunggi's acting, the originality?, the plot was often quite interesting and eventually only got better, the ending.
Things I disliked: the slow pace in the first part of the drama and before the last few episodes, which made me start skipping through the episodes, there were bad CGs, it did often seem like they're trying too hard to be dramatic and the dying scenes were often just.. bad.
I won't go ahead and recommend this to anyone, I didn't really see why people love it as much as they do, but if you want to watch this, do so but please don't have any expectations. I did get disappointed.
My first introductions with Japanese dramas and movies were honestly so bad I thought that maybe I shouldn't add any more Japanese things to my PTW list because I felt that I won't find anything I'd like. This drama changed my opinion.
Overall it was a very enjoyable ride, the actors did an excellent job and the drama did make me smile a lot; most of the times I, someone who isn't too fond of the comedy genre, since I often find it done too badly, did find the funny moments funny.
The bad thing is that I wasn't able to get close and understand all of the characters, and there were quite a few that annoyed me until the last few episodes. Another thing that could have been better -- I felt like they sometimes threw things into the plot and then forgot about them?
But anyway, this is the best Japanese production I've seen, so I would definitely recommend to watch it. :)
I'm someone who usually likes cheesiness and cheesy love stories but for this movie, it seemed like there was a thing missing? Something felt weird about their relationship, like something wasn't fully told and things just randomly started happening. It wasn't bad, it was a good quality movie but idk, I just ended up bored and didn't really enjoy it that much.
I loved this!
A very fun romantic comedy, where the main leads have great chemistry and which makes you smile and laugh a lot! I mean yeah, the erotic scenes and dirty dialogues are there but if you take that -- honestly -- small part of the movie out, it's all very sweet and cute!
Started the movie with big expectations, but.. I just stopped watching when I was in the middle of the movie. Shu Nian looked uncomfortable in every single situation and honestly, they were just pushing it too much, Xie Yan was too dominant, and in the end I couldn't take how abusive their relationship seemed to be.
I'll start off by saying that I don't remember when was the last time I was so addicted to a drama. I think it hasn't happened since I watched Healer, which I did in january.
The next thing I want to say is that this drama is not perfect. The way it was filmed / edited (in the thought reading parts) was not something I thought was great. There were a few times I did get slightly bored during an episode, but that didn't happen often. I wasn't too fond of Jang Hyesung at the beginning either, but that changed as the episodes went on.
Honestly, I think this drama just pulls you in when you start watching it. I remember being sceptical during the first episode, but as the episode went on, I found myself not being able to take my eyes off the screen.
Also, the acting was super good. Lee Jongsuk is AMAZING. I kind of couldn't believe Lee Boyoung's acting at first, but there was a certain scene in episode 8, which impressed me SO much. And not to mention the other actors who did a very good job in their roles, like Yoon Sanghyun, Lee Dahee and Jeong Wungin.
I definitely understand why this is such a popular drama. If you're still doubting whether to watch this and give it a chance, don't be. I doubt you'll regret spending your time on this.
Finished this yesterday; I don't want to write a long explanation, I'll just say that this drama contained pretty much everything I dislike in a drama, starting from weird (or even bad for some?) acting, randomness and ending with the main lead being a complete d*ick. Also, I did not miss this drama one bit while waiting for the last episodes to be subbed, and that shows something. The 2 I gave it is for those few moments I actually did find funny or cute.
If you really want to check this out, you could give it a few episodes chance, but please do not expect anything great.
Okay, I really really enjoyed this at first. It was fun to watch, the main leads had great chemistry and tension between them, the drama had its funny moments. But after episode 11 or 12 it started getting slower. Now, I can't say it got horrible, for me most of the episodes were still quite enjoyable, however they weren't nearly as good as the first, bigger part of this drama was. It all ended in me only skipping through the other half of episode 17, because there was nothing that really kept my interest.
I see a lot of people complaining there's no drama, no obstacles in the second half. Well, that is not true, there is, but the drama is in the business part of the drama, not the romance.
Also, another thing you should be aware of before watching this -- the cheesiness level is quite high.
So this drama would be a good choice if you like cheesy dramas that sometimes do like to concentrate on business more than romance and if you are searching for a romantic drama of Aaron's and can't decide between Fall In Love With Me and this. :D Because this is much better than FILWM was. :D (Can't comment anything on the comparison of this and Just You because I haven't watched it, and I most probably won't.)
I'm just sad I didn't get my fairytale lived-happily-ever-after ending. But I think that another ending would've seemed too unfit for a drama like this? Since it was quite heavy.
When I first started this, I did not expect myself to become so invested in it and for it to be so amazing. I had no real expectations, it's my first saeguk, I was just like -- hey, the plot sounds interesting, let's watch it.
I was blown away by the first episode. From the very beginning I thought this drama is something super unique. Honestly, the next week made me doubt my opinion, I remember I didn't like episode 3 and 4, but with episode 5 I was sure this drama is going to be as good as I thought it would.
In my opinion, the acting was just unbelievably amazing in this. I was so amazed by how well Kim Saeron (who is only 15 years old!!!), Yoon Shiyoon, Yum Jungah and the rest of the actors did. Sometimes, during the episodes I found myself thinking, wow, they're so incredible.
Another thing I really loved is the music in this. I loved that it is mostly only instrumental music, it gave the drama this uniqueness and charm that other dramas just do not have.
And the main couple!!! I know, everyone was talking about the age gap, but their relationship was portrayed so purely and it all seemed so so genuine. I did not even need the kisses and heavy skinship which I often like and need for me to believe a couple because the actors' eyes and emotions showed and said it all.
10/10 would recommend, especially if you're searching for a unique drama; I have not been a drama watcher for long but I don't think you will find anything like this.
Kind of don't understand all the people complaining about dragginess. For me, yes, episode 17 was a little slower, but I think it's never lost its intensity or its charm that makes it so interesting and -- I want to say -- original.
This is a must-watch to see the most precious male character in dramaland. Ryu Junyeol did Je Suho so perfectly, it's just.. you can't miss it? And the whole drama was just so fun and the main couple were so adorable, and even though there are love triangles (and *cough* some other drama cliches), there are no evil second leads -- or any characters at all? -- that could annoy you.
Some things that made my rating just (?) an 8/10 -- there were a few episodes during which I kind of got bored, and I don't think there will be a lot of things I miss from it, because the drama did not manage to make me actually addicted.
However, I would recommend this because it's one of the most fun and easy-to-watch dramas I have lately seen!
That being said, I think the reason for that is just the fact that I never got the feeling that, "oh wow, I like this", I think this drama just wasn't really my thing.
