the rating of 8,5 is so far promising, but then, ratings are well, at best, something deeply personal subjective, so things that are having high rankings doesnt have to be personally enjoyable, and vice versa.

( l like some short mini web dramas, and they have 7 or lower ratings, lol. doesnt make them less enjoyable for me. sometimes its just kinks that hits)

how does this compares to his role in dashing youth?
that was the first drama, where i had my impression of Neo Hou, and I loved him and his character in that drama.
he looks quite different (visually, as well as the role) here. I only had some glimpses into ep 1, so i hope to catch up in two weeks, when my crazy workload in my job has passed.

there is no dilraba, no yang mi, no wang yibo, no yang yang, nor cheng yi, or whatever contemporary hot shots are currently being sold.

famous why? coz of the famed novel it is based on? or because of actors? honestly as far as i see, they are stars, but none of them are super idol stars? i only knew of neo hou, coz of this year's Dashing Youth, and the female lead, coz of her role in Till the end of the moon.

lol, i hated that JB villain so much, i couldnt even determin in this scene, whether it was a cat or dog.

its my problem. i cannot get the image of that villain with the white cat , out of my brain/mind, when i see him in this drama, with the cat. it totally kills off my mood for him. because my brain keeps on replacing him , and the cat, with those old images from those james bond movies of my childhood.

very true. majority of fiction, whether materialized as C-dramas, or whatever TV shows in other countries, are based on human tropes and kinks and interaction.

(honestly, i am 45 years old, watching Wuxia TV dramas since i was toddler or 3 yrs old (back then China Television industry didnt exist yet, so it was 20 years long, all Hongkong TVB channel wuxia and contempory dramas. all the glorious 80s and 90s decades along, before the internet existed for the masses).

i mean, sure, it breaks our hearts, but now that is some sort of worthy romeo & juliet-esque thing. actually I expected once he did it, that she would miracle-wise wake-up.. but yeah. they did not go there.

hell of an ending, but fitting the dark tone of this cool short drama!
