DY is a prequel to TBOY…Please, don’t compare them.
lähh why do you hide your comment as a spoiler? its a fact, that DY ist a prequel!
and why should people not compare them? is there some hidden rule in c-ent that audience is only allowed to compare a drama with its sequel, but not with its prequel??
so far, i like the 2 ML actors (Wuxin and Xiao Chuhe) from TBOY more, and i totally love and adore the entire cast and story and color scheme of DY most.
I'm going to steal your typo and call it the next level up: your normal series with rushed ending, strange cuts,…
ahh, sometimes actors and actresses are really really gorgoeus and pretty and awesome, but then, the drama is still meeeehhh. its really sad, that human visuals sometimes alone cannot save a bad script, or bad direction by a luckluster director and so on. (and well, sometimes it boils down to subjective impression. i mean, some short dramas are just for kink satiesfying purposes and they are so good. and then there are S-class super funded dramas, and i have like watching 2 eps and think, this is so boring, i am so pitying the actors and actresses, when they gave it all, and it still doesnt work..)
drama and movies are really very, very hard business. i understand how production studios sometimes resort to water armies to try to save their losses. its cheating for sure but alas, what can they do, if sooner or later, weibo ? duban? rating comes out, and the truth will still be ugly?
my thoughts exactly, i was like squealing weeee i know that building!
i really like my work but sometimes i wish i would not need that money/salary so badly, that i could cut down to 4 days, so that there is more time for watching new series ,and rewatching the old ones...hehehe!
please someone help me, and tell me, what is the actors name, of Beili Dongjungs shifu - the guy with the white…
yes thats him! poor guy, whoever choose his actor pics in his MDL page, is really not doing him justice ! he really rooks that white hair look! i am totally falling for him, even though he ... well... yeah
well, he is, from a certain POV, a spoiled brat. very much so, considering how his grandpa IS spoiling him (and…
totally d'accord. damn, whats worth world fame and immortality and all that money and all that ranking in the world, if you aint have nobody to share that shit. could as well, bury yourself in a grave, if their aint nobody else around to enjoy the material benefits .
has the rating been bad?i mean, i would think, rating 8.2 is not too bad?its not a brilliant story, nor does it…
ahh ok. so 9 is like wow, that is high. then the fall is indeed steep. it doesnt seem like even a show, with actors, who are controversial, or who have water armies of rabid stans from fan clubs, who do crazy things or act crazy !
this is really a very well rounded and nice show! with cute actors , where none of them are idols ( i guess, i dont know enough of c-ent industry to judge) . i really wish for youku to have a surrounding success, so that they get the funds, to make the sequel!
well, he is, from a certain POV, a spoiled brat. very much so, considering how his grandpa IS spoiling him (and…
honestly if growing up, and being an adult in a fantasy world means, i have witness death destruction and betrayal in all forms? and have to like, kill my best friend, and see my masters die? or decide which parent to sacrifice to safe the other one? or my own family massacred by soldiers or enemies? i rather be a spoiled brat and uncouth youth and drunkyard and alcoholic for the rest of my mortal and immortal life. there are so many depressing "realistic" dramas around that end in tears and bloodsheed, i honestly prefer some lighter version and its not like we dont know how this will end...
as for the alcohol and wine, well i dont know for sure, but i would bet, wine in france, is considered UNCESCO world heritage to their country and culture. there we go... as is probably beer in germany, LOL. or vodka in russia. or sake in japan. and whatever there is in china. nonewithstanding real life existence. i know cultural understanding can and does have to change. theoretically rape, smoking, blatant racism and sexism and the like, is not acceptable in tv dramas anymore (hahah just watching the old james bond movies with e.g. sean connery, make me sometimes urghhhh gag and cringe and takes away some enjoyment,) but getting hang ups coz of wine sword forms here? its laughable.
i am so glad, the prequel lives up to the legacy of blood of youth.i mean, ok, i still like xiao chuhe and wuxin…
please someone help me, and tell me, what is the actors name, of Beili Dongjungs shifu - the guy with the white hair , who survived the battle 2 decades ago? and who died in the most recent episodes?
i am so glad, the prequel lives up to the legacy of blood of youth. i mean, ok, i still like xiao chuhe and wuxin most, but the young cast of dashing youth? bloody hell, really really great cast!
Where did you watch the trailer? Please and thank you!
argg damn, i was asking the same why dont they release the trailers on youtube! my smartphone is like really old, from 2018, and is getting weak, i cannot afford to install more apps like youku. they should release the trailers on their youku channel on yt...
what's up with people calling him a spoil brat? He literally open a tavern on his own, has a sense of fairness,…
well, he is, from a certain POV, a spoiled brat. very much so, considering how his grandpa IS spoiling him (and certainly, as grandpa explained, or rather while talking with his son, with logical reason behind. Donjun is just about as the main character in Snow Sword Stride. the ML lead there knew exactly why he had to be and acted spoiled ,and its nearly the same reason here in dashing youth. being male and the sole heir and part of a powerful family, with powerful parents from BOTH sides (and damn, with disciple to THAT master, that deity in his garden, LOL, jesus) , he is bound to be a target, himself, and for his families. too much of a prodigy and the emperor has to step in and eliminate the threat to their position).
of course, being spoiled does not always equals brat, but acting like one? is a proactive protective measure. at the end of episode 7 (i think) when he talked with little master (prince roufeng?) you see how he knows stuff and the intrigues that his position is coming with.
and for the wine, srsly, people are whining about that? the drunken sword dancing forms? is a trope in chinese wuxia and whatever storytelling for more than half a century. even if its not part of the c-culture, its part at least of the novel storytelling and television storytelling for like over 60 years. damn, even if kids nowadays have no idea, that wuxia and so on, existed before PRC chinese film industry came into existence, just ask your parents or elders. there were tv dramas since 70s from taiwan and hongkong and even singapur. hell. so, is that nowadays en vogue, to equal fictional drunk kungfu or sword forms, with taking cocaine and smoking old good cigarettes and not do the vaping stuff?
Casting director was focused on getting cutest and hottest MLs 😄
seriously, the cast is great. i recognize some from blood of youth, none of them are that level of famous, that i could recall their names , but they are definitely distinct enough, to last.
has the rating been bad? i mean, i would think, rating 8.2 is not too bad?
its not a brilliant story, nor does it have a cast ,that is wildly popular, but boy, are the guys all cute, and their interaction with each other is really fun.
knowing their future and how some of them are going to end, i hope, the show choose a point, where its not alltoo bad, and not too teary.
i am totally mesmerized! all the guys are really great eyecandies, (though none of them has captured me the way, that xiao chuhe and WuXin, but nonetheless, woah, not too bad, so far, all the actors selected to play the previous generation? absolutely gorgeous!) and their chemistry (all of them with each other , all together or individually in groups) is also very, very captivating , can be easily read as bromance, BL, or just hyper intense brotherhood, whatever your cup of tea is.
now that's how you do justice to a prequel (and I hope the sequel will also be so great, I miss Li Hongyi very much)!
and the F/X is (well the dragon is of course, not up to the Targaryen's dragons, but cute nonetheless) is also gorgeous, the fighting scenes are beautiful to watch.
good thing, I still have on the shelf Lost you Forever 2, Lost identity and royal princess, so that waiting time for new eps wont be too painful!
since its the story before BOY, theoretically, you dont need to remember that drama from 2022, to understand this current plot.
